Abstract

Research on "Test the blood sugar lowering effect of the ethanol extract of karamunting leaves (Rhodomyrtus tomentosa (ait.) Hassk.) Using the glucose tolerance method on male white mice" was carried out orally by measuring the blood sugar levels of mice every 30 minutes for 2 hours with doses of 3, 2mg, 1.6mg, and 0.8mg. The results of the study using the oral glucose tolerance test method showed that the effect of glucose tolerance from karamunting leaf extract at a dose of 3.2mg/20gBB averaged blood sugar levels after administration of 50% glucose from 294 mg/dl to 123mg/dl, a dose of 1.6mg/dl. 20gBB average blood sugar level after administration of glucose 50% from 269.33 mg/dl to 133.67 mg/dl, 0.8mg/20gBB average blood sugar level after administration of glucose 50% from 261.67mg/dl to 135mg/dl. From the data analysis carried out, it was found that the data were normally distributed and there was a homogeneous variance with a significant level = 0.05 and continued with a one-way anava test where  Fhitung 3.63 ≤ Ftabel 4.07 which means there is no significant difference in the extract group karamunting leaf ethanol (Rhodomyrtus tomentosa (Ait.) Hassk.) It can be concluded that karamunting leaf ethanol extract is efficacious as an antidiabetic.

Abstract

Previous studies have found that celery leaves (Apium Gravieolens L.) have an analgesic effect. Substances that are efficacious as analgesics are flavonoids. This study aims to determine the analgesic effect of ethanol extract of celery leaves by increasing the dose of ethanol extract of celery leaves from previous researchers. A total of 9 test animals were divided into 5 treatment groups, namely the first group of test substances at a dose of 4mg/20gBW, the second group of test substances at a dose of 8mg/20gBW, and the third group of test substances at a dose of 16mg/20gBW. The test is carried out by giving a hot stimulus or Hot Plate at a temperature of 550C. The test animals were observed before and after the administration of the test material, 30th, 60th and 90th minutes. The response of the test animals was a decrease in the number of paw licking and jumping. The results of data analysis in the form of tables and graphs show that the ethanol extract of celery leaves can reduce the response of mice in licking their feet and jumping to hot stimuli. Statistical results show that by using the anava test. Where Fcount 0.85 ≤ Ftable 5.14 using α 0.01 which means that there is no significant difference between the 4 mg dose of celery leaf extract and 8 mg dose of celery leaf extract and 16 mg dose of celery leaf extract.

Abstract

Pharmaceutical service is a direct and responsible service to patients related to pharmaceutical preparations with the aim of achieving definite results to improve the patient's quality of life. Pharmacy is a certain place, where pharmaceutical work is carried out and distribution of health supplies to the community. The purpose of this study was to measure consumer satisfaction with the dimensions of reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and appearance of pharmaceutical services at the Y pharmacy in Bukittinggi. This type of research is descriptive, namely by using a questionnaire sheet as a research instrument and then calculating the average percentage of consumer satisfaction and classifying it. Based on the results of research conducted on 100 respondents, it can be concluded that the level of satisfaction with the reliability dimension is 83.70%, the responsiveness dimension is 80.43%, the guarantee dimension is 77.75%, the empathy dimension is 78.41% and the dimensions of tangible facilities are 77.80%. So that the average level of consumer satisfaction with pharmaceutical services at the Y pharmacy in Bukittinggi as a whole is 79.618% with the classification being Satisfied.

Abstract

Cacao (Theobroma cacao) is one of the plants whose all parts have functional benefits for the human body. Part of the cocoa bean is reported and has been studied as useful as an antioxidant, antibacterial, anti-obesity, and as a natural dye. Various bioactive components have been found in cocoa beans, among the bioactive components found are: Phenolics, Catechins, Epicatechins, phenolic acids, protoanthocyanidins, Tannins and Flavonoids. Handling in healing burns includes preventing infection and giving the remnants of epithelial cells the opportunity to proliferate and cover the wound surface. Compounds that can be used in healing burns are catechins, tannins and flavonoids. The method used in the extraction was maceration using Ethyl Acetate solvent, the results of the extraction obtained a viscous extract of 28 grams, preparations were made in the form of an ointment using a viscous extract in 3 concentrations namely 10%, 15% and 20%. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the Ethyl Acetate Extract of cocoa beans can be effective in healing burns.

Abstract

The Betadine plant (Jatropha multifida L.) is one of the Indonesian medicinal plants which is empirically widely used to treat various types of infections. The Betadine plant (Jatropha multifida L.) is known to contain phenolic compounds which have antioxidant activity and have bactericidal, antiseptic and anthelmintic properties. In this study, the total phenolic content of the ethanol extract of the Betadin plant (Jatropha multifida L.) was determined spectrophotometrically using the Folin Ciocalteu method. Gallic acid was used as a standard comparison solution in this study. From the absorbance measurement results, a linear regression equation Ŷ = 0.624 + 0.001x was obtained with a coefficient of determination (R2) of 0.996. The total phenolic content in Betadin plants is 0.80115% w/w which is calculated as gallic acid
