Abstract

Modern Industrial Workshop Table is a table used for the manufacture of furniture at the workshop site. Workshop tables are usually used to set furniture work ranging from light to heavy. Currently, workshop tables are not widely sold in the market, but workshop table users prefer to design and make their own. Therefore, the Polytechnic of Furniture and Wood Processing Industry (Polifurneka) designed its own workshop table. In designing a workshop table the factors of comfort and strength are the main ones. On the strength factor, the design of the workshop table can be tested with the help of ANSYS software version 18.1. The analysis aims to find out the stress, deformation and crack test. The simulation results with 400N, 500N, and 600N forces are the maximum equivalent stress of 1,4x10-6 Pa, 1,75x10-6 Pa, and 2,1 x10-6 Pa. Total deformation of 0,011m, 0,013m, and 0,015m. The conclusions of this study showed that the results of the first design had deformations in the leg supports of the table. Therefore, re-design is carried out so that there is no deformation and the maximum equivalent value of the new design stress is 1,12x10-6 Pa, 1,4x10-6 Pa, dan 1,69 x10-6 Pa. The total deformation of the new design 1,12x10-5m, 1,58x10-5m, dan 1,82 x10-5m. From the results of the re-design, it was found that the increase in the value of maximum equivalent stress and maximum principal stress, a decrease in total deformation, and did not show deformation on the table legs. Therefore, the latest Modern Industrial Workshop Table design was chosen for use in Polifurneka workshops.

Abstract

One of the efforts to deal with the high level of business competition in the kite glass industry in Indonesia is to improve the quality of raw materials and optimize all available resources. However, internal improvements in the company are not enough, so the participation of all parties is needed, starting from suppliers who supply raw materials from China to Indonesia, namely to companies and feedback from kite glass craftsmen as users of these raw materials into finished products so that the quality of goods is in accordance with what is expected. desired by kite glass craftsmen in general as well as the distribution network that will deliver the product to the hands of the customer. In this regard, it is necessary to periodically evaluate suppliers so that the raw materials and products received by the company are in accordance with price, quality and delivery. This study aims to evaluate three suppliers and choose the best according to predetermined criteria and sub-criteria. To get the priority weight value for supplier assessment, researchers used the AHP fuzzy method.

Abstract

Durian (Durio zibethinus) , nicknamed The King of Fruit, is a fruit that is quite popular in Indonesia. This prickly fruit which has a pungent aroma and distinctive taste is very popular with many people. The edible part of the fruit (percentage of fruit flesh weight) is low, which is only around 20.52%, this means that there are around 79.48% which is the part that is not utilized for consumption such as the skin and seeds of the durian fruit. So, there is a lot of durian skin waste that will be produced. Durian fruit skin contains lignocellulosic materials, namely cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin. Based on the data above, we want to utilize durian skin waste in research on the manufacture of oxalic acid. To make oxalic acid from durian fruit peel waste, we use the alkaline smelting method with several stages, namely: precipitation with CaCl2, acidification with H2SO4 and crystallization. The alkali used was NaOH with various concentrations of 3N, 4N, and 5N with cooking times of 30, 40, and 60 minutes at a temperature of 95oC. The optimum concentration of NaOH and optimum melting time to make oxalic acid from durian fruit peel waste was at the solution concentration. NaOH 4N and a time of 60 minutes with a weight % Yield of 6,95%.

Abstract

The demand for products that require high precision is increasing. Therefore the production process with CNC machines is highly crucial. In the milling machining process, the roughing process takes the most time. The suitable selection of tools combination for the machining area will reduce the machining time. Roughing process sometimes cannot process the machining area with the minimum gap size. The research is to develop tools combination selection algorithm with the criteria of reducing machining time by considering the minimum gap in the workpiece machining area. The first stage is the preprocessing stage, which aims to initiate the tool size that can be used in the workpiece machining process and tools size grouping for the smallest gap machining process. The second stage is genetic algorithm (GA) stage, which aims to find the best tools combination according to the objective function. The sequence in the GA stage is determining initial solution, parents selection, crossover, mutation, regeneration, and determining the best solution. The developed algorithm has been tested on four workpieces. Characteristics of the features were tested on two closed pocket workpieces with island, each open pocket with island, and close pocket without island. Development of tools combination selection algorithm can assist in determining the best tools size to minimize the machining time.
