Abstract

Indigenous peoples have come to international attention marked by the approval of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) in September 2007. The declaration was supported by 144 countries, including Indonesia. In Indonesia, UNDRIP is needed as one of the policy bases in the regulation of indigenous peoples.  In its implementation, non-governmental organizations in the form of Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) were also given the opportunity to play a role, and one of these NGOs was the Aliansi Masyarakat Adat Nusantara (AMAN). Thus, this paper analyses the role of AMAN in implementing UNDRIP. For this purpose, this paper uses the theory of non-governmental organization by David Lewis. The research method used qualitative method is descriptive with data collection techniques based on interview and analysis from journals, books, internet sites, newspapers and official documents. The result of this paper shows that the role of AMAN is included in 3 categories of NGO roles based on the theory proposed by David Lewis, namely Implementer, Catalyst and Partners.

Abstract

Indonesia is a developing country that has the characteristics and potential of development resources that rely heavily on the agricultural sector. Indonesia is the third largest source of agricultural products for New Zealand. New Zealand invites North Toraja to cooperate in agriculture and plantations which is realized through the Sister City collaboration. The existence of sister city cooperation that is woven gives little space and hope for the people of North Toraja, especially in the realization of agricultural development goals in North Toraja. The research uses qualitative methods. Related to this research, the author uses primary data collection techniques, namely interviews and secondary data, namely literature, journals and related documents. The results showed that the sister city cooperation agreement did not run optimally, the contents of the agreement were not fully actualized and the stages were not complete. This was caused by factors, namely not being followed-up properly, the budget was limited, Human Resources were not/not ready and the parties who bridged the two partners did not carry out their duties properly. Abstract

This research will write down the impact of implementing the Renewable Energy Directive II policy issued by the European Union to regulate the use of renewable energy as a form of the European Union's commitment to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In the Renewable Energy Directive II Policy issued by the European Union, it is stated that palm oil causes deforestation or environmental damage. Indonesia, which has long established economic cooperation with the European Union, especially in the export-import of palm oil, as the world's largest producer of palm oil, feels discriminated against the policy issued. Indonesia gets the country's largest foreign exchange from exports of palm oil and its derivatives which will then have a major impact on the decline in imports of palm oil by the European Union after the issuance of this policy. This research question is "What is the impact of the implementation of the Renewable Energy Directive II policy on relations between Indonesia and the European Union?" to answer the questions in this study, researchers used the concept of International Political Economy by Robert Gilpin in explaining the results of this study. This study uses qualitative research methods using secondary data sources. The results of this study will answer the forms of tense relations between Indonesia and the European Union and what factors influence these tensions to occur. This research will also explain the beginning of the cooperation between Indonesia and the European Union and how the relationship was before and after the Renewable Energy Directive II policy was made.
