Abstract

The hospital, as a healthcare service provider, must have data requirement indicators in the digital era, one of which is hospital reporting data (RL). One type, RL4a, includes morbidity and mortality data of inpatients (both living and deceased) within a one-year period. Data collection is conducted from January 1 to December 31, then recapitulated and reported through RL4a submission in the SIRS online system. This study aims to analyze the external reporting process of RL4a based on the hospital information system at Pertamina Cirebon Hospital. The research employs a quantitative descriptive method. The variables studied include RL4a external reporting, with the research objects being the SIRS online system and the instrument used being a checklist sheet. The study results indicate that the RL4a external reporting process at Pertamina Cirebon Hospital refers to the register book, disease index, coding, and the top 10 disease reports. Data processing findings show that 90% of reports comply with standards, while the remaining 10% do not. The discrepancies are due to inaccurate codification validity in relation to patient diagnoses during data entry into the SIRS, as well as the manual, one-by-one data entry method. This condition impacts work efficiency and effectiveness.

Abstract

The breastfeeding rate in Indonesia has declined, with only 48.6% of infants receiving breast milk within the first hour after birth in 2021, compared to 58.2% in 2018. This study aims to implement comprehensive midwifery care, covering pregnancy, labor, postpartum, newborn care, and contraception. The study subject, Mrs. T (G3P2A0) with a gestational age of 39-40 weeks, received care at Babakan Public Health Center from February to May 2024. A case study approach was used with a descriptive method through anamnesis, observation, and SOAP documentation. Interventions included two ANC visits, labor assistance, four postpartum visits, and three newborn care sessions. Complaints of pain during pregnancy were managed through health education. Labor occurred normally on March 4, 2024, at 04:50 AM WIB, delivering a healthy baby girl weighing 3,900 grams and measuring 51 cm in length. During the postpartum period, the mother experienced low breast milk production, which was addressed through breast care, oxytocin massage, and Oketani massage. Newborn care was carried out without complications. The mother chose an IUD as her contraceptive method. This comprehensive midwifery care is expected to enhance maternal understanding of pregnancy, labor, postpartum, newborn care, and family planning program.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the rituals, customs, and taboos that have become traditional practices among the people of Pabuaran Wetan. These rituals, customs, and taboos associated with childbirth have long been established as part of the community’s cultural heritage and are routinely practiced. They are believed to have been passed down from generation to generation since the time of their ancestors. However, with the progression of time and modernization, many members of the Pabuaran Wetan community have begun to abandon some of these childbirth-related traditions. The primary purpose of these rituals is to seek divine assistance from God Almighty, in hopes of easing the childbirth process. Meanwhile, the taboos observed by pregnant women approaching labor are intended to prevent undesirable events from occurring to the unborn child and to ensure a safe delivery for the mother. This research was conducted in the Pabuaran Wetan area, located in Cirebon Regency, and focuses on the subject: “Traditional Practices, Rituals, and Taboos of Pregnant Women During Labor.” Data collection techniques used in this study included focus group discussions, direct observation, documentation, and interviews with key informants who are experts in their respective fields. The findings of this research are expected to provide valuable insights into the traditional practices still observed by the Pabuaran Wetan community during the childbirth period and contribute to the preservation and understanding of local cultural heritage.

Abstract

The development of digital health has encouraged the implementation of telemedicine as a solution to improve healthcare access in Indonesia. Supported by regulations such as Law No. 17 of 2023, Government Regulation No. 28 of 2024, and Minister of Health Regulation No. 20 of 2019, telemedicine plays a crucial role in enhancing technology-based healthcare services. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of telemedicine policies in improving healthcare access and service quality, as well as to identify key challenges related to regulations, infrastructure, and patient data protection. A systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted using fifteen primary references focusing on digital health regulations, telemedicine service implementation, and patient data security in Indonesia. The findings indicate that telemedicine has successfully expanded healthcare access, yet continues to face barriers in regulatory standardization, infrastructure readiness, and data protection. It is concluded that telemedicine policies should be strengthened through clearer regulations, improved digital infrastructure, and integration of health technology services to ensure equitable and high-quality healthcare for the Indonesian population.

Abstract

Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) and Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (AIDS) remain significant global public health problems, particularly among adolescents who are vulnerable due to psychosocial and behavioral factors. This study aims to review the influence of health education on adolescents’ knowledge and attitudes toward HIV/AIDS and to identify factors affecting prevention efforts. This research employed a literature review approach by analyzing scientific articles published between 2017 and 2025 obtained from Google Scholar, ProQuest, and Semantic Scholar. Articles were selected based on relevance to adolescent populations, HIV/AIDS knowledge, attitudes, stigma, and health education interventions. The findings indicate that health education consistently improves adolescents’ knowledge and fosters more positive attitudes toward HIV/AIDS prevention. Adequate knowledge is associated with reduced stigma and safer behaviors. Individual characteristics such as age, education level, gender, and sources of information, as well as environmental and social support factors, significantly influence knowledge and attitudes. Peer education, interpersonal communication, and adolescent empowerment programs are shown to be effective strategies. In conclusion, health education plays a vital role in HIV/AIDS prevention among adolescents. Effective programs should be tailored to demographic and social contexts, emphasize participatory approaches, and integrate peer support to promote sustainable behavioral change.

Abstract

Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) remains a major public health concern, particularly in tropical and subtropical regions. Climate change and the increasing frequency of extreme weather events, such as flooding and irregular rainfall patterns, play a significant role in influencing dengue transmission dynamics through their effects on mosquito vectors and viral replication. This article aims to narratively review scientific evidence on the relationship between climate change, extreme weather, and dengue transmission. A narrative literature review was conducted using relevant national and international publications retrieved from databases including PubMed, Scopus, Google Scholar, and ScienceDirect, covering the period from 2015 to 2024. The reviewed studies examined the influence of key climatic variables—temperature, rainfall, and humidity—as well as extreme weather events such as flooding on dengue incidence. The findings indicate that increased temperature, variable rainfall, and high humidity are consistently associated with a higher risk of dengue transmission. Flood events were also found to contribute to increased mosquito breeding sites and subsequent rises in dengue cases following flooding periods. These findings highlight the role of climate change in exacerbating dengue risk and emphasize the need for adaptive disease control strategies. Integrating climate information into dengue surveillance and public health policy is essential to strengthen dengue prevention and control in the context of ongoing climate change.
