Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted various aspects of life. During the coronavirus outbreak, the two most affected essential sectors were the economic and education sectors. This article aims to analyze education policy in Indonesia in response to the global pandemic. This research managed to find that education policy becomes public policy because it is realized to the public directly. In the formulation stage of education policy, the government, in this case, the Ministry of Education, collaborates with multi-stakeholders to ensure the community's fundamental right to obtain an education. However, it was found that education policy does not maximally see the disparity of society, so the community faces various obstacles because the policy is not balanced with the preparation of adequate digital infrastructure. So many people do not enjoy government subsidies. In addition, it can be concluded that national education policy uses an interactive-participatory model that shows collaboration with interested agencies to realize policies in the public domain in education implementation jointly.

As well as knowing the impact of Setigi tourism for the community during the Covid-19 pandemic. The research method in this research is qualitative with descriptive analysis. Data obtained through direct observation and literature study. This study proves that the village political elite, through democratic principles, invites the community to participate in the development of Setigi tourism. Efforts to increase community participation are carried out by inviting them to become Taplus Invest investors in the form of saving Rp. 8,000 per day until Rp. 2,400,000 is collected, which is converted into one share certificate. The Sekapuk Village Government also invites the community directly in dredging garbage in the limestone hills for 1 year. The existence of Setigi tourism is an alternative source of income for the community in addition to their main livelihood. During the Covid-19 pandemic, Setigi tourism also experienced a decline in visitors, but was still able to survive.

Abstract

This paper argues the thesis that Plato’s political philosophy is highly relevant to Africa’s politics. Africa’s politics is characterized by a lot of crises such as corruption and other social maladies. Some of the so called leaders are not well trained; contrary to Plato’s political blue print. Some of African leaders are far from physical and psychological perfection. Acquisition of private property is also a serious issue in Africa’s politics. It is against this background that the paper addresses all these contending issues militating against Africa’s political system which will of course, affect her quest for development. The paper therefore discusses Plato’s political philosophy and its relevance to Africa’s politics. The paper concludes that Plato’s political philosophy is of vital importance to Africa’s politics.
