The study aims to determine: 1) The effect of instructional media and vocabulary mastery towards English speaking ability. 2) The effect of Vocabulary mastery towards English speaking ability. 3) The effect of instructional media on English speaking ability. The affordable population is class X of Uswatun Hasanah Private Vocational School, Mardi Bhakti Private Vocational School, East Jakarta. The sample of this research is 70 respondents in this study. The method used is an experiment. Inference analyses used are ANOVA two-way factorial 2x2. The results of this study show:1) There is no significant effect on instructional media and vocabulary mastery towards English speaking ability. This result is evidenced by the acquisition of sig.0,258 > 0,05 and F observe 1,305. 2) There is a significant effect on vocabulary mastery towards English speaking ability. This result is evidenced by the acquisition of sig.0,0,012< 0,05 and F observe 6,741. 3) There is a significant effect on instructional media towards English speaking ability. This result is evidenced by the acquisition of sig.0,000 < 0,05 and F observe 85,435.Key Words: instructional media; game; vocabulary mastery; speaking skill

Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Metode Pembelajaran terhadap kemampuan menulis paragraf Recount Bahasa Inggris pada siswa SMA Negeri di Kabupaten Karawang. Metode Penelitian yang digunakan metode eksperimen dengan menerapkan metode pembelajaran kooperatif tipe Jigsaw dan TPS, Penelitian ini menggunakan tes essai dan quisioner untuk mencari nilai, minat belajar tinggi dan rendah. Subjek penelitian dibagi atas dua kelompok yakni kelompok eksperimen dan kelompok kontrol dengan populasi seluruh siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Telagasari dan SMA Negeri 1 Majalaya, sampel kelas XI IPA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Telagasari sebagai kelas eksperimen dan XI IPA 1 SMA Negeri 1 Majalaya sebagai Kelas Kontrol. Penelitian ini menggunakan model penelitian ANOVA. Dari hasil pengolahan data test didapatkan kesimpulan: 1). Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan metode pembelajaran terhadap kemampuan menulis paragraf recount bahasa Inggris siswa SMA Negeri di Kabupaten Karawang, hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan nilai Sig: 0,002 < 0,05 dan Fhitung: 10,795, 2). Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan Minat Belajar terhadap kemampuan menulis paragraf recount bahasa Inggris siswa SMA Negeri di Kabupaten Karawang, hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan nilai Sig: 0,000 < 0,05 dan Fhitung: 60,626, 3). Terdapat pengaruh interaktif yang signifikan metode pembelajaran dan Minat Belajar terhadap kemampuan menulis paragraf recount bahasa Inggris siswa SMA Negeri di Kabupaten Karawang, hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan nilai Sig: 0,013 < 0,05 dan Fhitung : 6,581. Sebagai dampak dari adanya pengaruh interaktif antara Metode pembelajaran dan Minat belajar terhadap kemampuan menulis paragraf recount bahasa Inggris maka dilakukan uji lanjut dengan menggunakan uji Tukey.

This research aims to know, analyze and examine the truth of the hypothesis on the effects of vocabulary and grammar mastery towards the skill of students of state senior high schools in Tangerang Regency, Banten Province, in writing English descriptive texts. The research employed a survey method. The results of the research are: (1) There are significant effects of vocabulary and grammar mastery collectively towards the skill of students of state senior high schools in Tangerang Regency, Banten Province in writing English descriptive texts. It is proved by Sig. 0.000 < 0.05 and Fobserved160.498. (2) There is a significant effect of vocabulary mastery partially towards the skill of students of state senior high schools in Tangerang Regency, Banten Province, in writing English descriptive texts. It is proved by Sig. 0.000 < 0.05 and t observed 5.396. 3) There is a significant effect of grammar mastery partially towards the skill of students of state senior high schools in Tangerang Regency, Banten Province, in writing English descriptive texts. It is proved by Sig. 0.000 < 0.05 and t observed 9.241. This current research results show that the students’ skills in writing English descriptive texts are strongly influenced by their vocabulary and grammar mastery. Therefore, teachers of the state senior high schools should be active in improving the students’ vocabulary and grammar mastery through creating guided learning and up-to-date learning methods. The teachers also need to give the students motivation, assistance dan periodical review to continuously practice enriching their vocabulary, improving their grammar and skill in writing English descriptive texts. This study aims to analyze and verify the hypothesis about the influence of students’ perception of learning media and student’s motivation toward student’s English achievement. The hypothesis of the research is 1). There is a significant influence between students’ perceptions and student’s motivation at the same time toward the student’s English achievement. 2). There is a significant influence on students’ perceptions toward student’s English achievement. 3). There is a significant influence of student’s motivation toward student’s English achievement. In this research, researchers used research Analyses regression survey method. The population is from students of Muhammadiyah 2 high school in Tangerang, IT As Syukriyah, and Yuppentek 1 high schools in Tangerang in the 2018/2019 academic year, which completed with 661 students. The sample size of 60 students was chosen randomly from all existing classes with Proportionate Stratified random sampling. The instrument used was a questionnaire. Hypothesis testing results are summarized as follows: (1) There is a significant influence between the student’s perception and student’s motivation on learning media toward student’s English achievement. The result of this research can be implied to improve the quality of English teaching and learning.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of critical thinking skills and vocabulary mastery of English Madrasah Aliyah private speaking skills in Serang District. The research method used to analyze critical thinking skills and vocabulary mastery of English-speaking skills is to use survey methods using correlation and multiple regression techniques with the help of Microsoft Excel and SPSS version 20.0. After the authors analyzed the research variables critical thinking skills and vocabulary mastery of English speaking skills, it can be concluded that: (1) There is a significant influence of critical thinking skills and vocabulary mastery together on English speaking skills of the students in Serang District as evidenced with the acquisition of Sig. = 0,000 <0.05 and Fcount = 40.830 together the variables of critical thinking skills and vocabulary mastery contributed 58.9% to the variable of English speaking skills of private MA students in Serang District. (2) There is a significant influence of critical thinking ability on English speaking skills of the students in Serang District as evidenced by the acquisition of Sig. = 0,000 <0.05 and tcount = 3.807 (3) There is a significant influence of the mastery of vocabulary on English speaking skills of these students in Serang District as evidenced by the acquisition of Sig. = 0,000 <0.05 and tcount = 4,870.Key Words: critical thinking; vocabulary mastery; speaking skills

Penelitian Ini Merupakan Penelitian Survei pada SMK Swasta Di Jakarta Barat, tahun 2017/2018. Sampel sebanyak 85 orang siswa yang dipilih secara random dari beberapa sekolah SMK Swasta di Jakarta Barat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Penguasaan Kosakata terhadap Prestasi Belajar Bahasa Inggris, Pengaruh Minat terhadap Prestasi Belajar Bahasa Inggris dan Pengaruh Penguasaan Kosakata dan Minat secara bersama-sama terhadap Prestasi Belajar Bahasa Inggris. Pengambilan data dilaksanakan dengan cara memberikan tes dan menyebarkan angket. Analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan regresi ganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan Penguasaan Kosakata Dan Minat secara bersama-sama terhadap prestasi belajar Bahasa Inggris siswa SMK Swasta di Jakarta Barat. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan perolehan nilai Sig. 0,000 < 0,05 dan Fhitung = 6,3959. (2) Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan Penguasaan Kosakata Terhadap Prestasi Belajar Bahasa Inggris SMK Swasta Di Jakarta Barat. The purpose of this research are (1) to find out the effects of reading interest and vocabulary mastery towards narrative English text writing skill of SMP Negeri studets in Karawang district. (2) to find out the effects of vocabulary mastery towards narrative English text writing skill of SMP Negeri in Karawang district. This research is survey in Karawang district, academic year 2017/2018. The number of sample is 80 students who are taken randomly by many SMP Negeri schools in Karawang district. Taking data of this research is questioner. Data analysis by using descriptive statistic method, validity test, reliability test, multiple regression analysis. The results of this research are (1) there is significant effect of reading interest and vocabulary mastery together towards narrative English text writing skill of SMP Negeri Students in Karawang district. It is proven by getting score sig.0,000 < 0,05 and fcount =67,749. (2) there is significant effect reading habit towards narrative English text writing skill of SMP Negeri Students in Karawang district. It is proven by getting score sig.0,000 < 0,05 and fcount =7,222. (3). This research is a kind of survey and aims to find out the effects of reading habit and self-discipline towards student’s descriptive text writing skill. The observed population of this research is students from state junior high schools in East Jakarta. The sample was gained through simple random sampling, which means that the researcher mixed the subjects in the population so that they will be considerably the same. The gained data was then analyzed by using correlation technique and multiple regressions. Previously, the prerequisite test before examining the regression test must be accomplished. The results of this research are: 1) There are significant effects of reading habit and self-discipline altogether towards descriptive text writing skill. It is proved by Sig.= 0.000 < 0.05 and Fobserved = 45.365; 2) There is a significant effect of reading habit towards student’s descriptive text writing skill. It is proved by Sig.= 0.000 < 0.05 and tobserved = 7.034; 3) There is a significant effect of self-discipline towards student’s descriptive text writing skill. It is proved by Sig.= 0.000 < 0.05 and tobserved = 3.788.

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah (1) untuk mengetahui pengaruh motivasi belajar dan penguasaan kosakata terhadap kemampuan pemahaman membaca bahasa Inggris SMK Swasta di Kota Tangerang. (2) untuk mengetahui pengaruh motivasi belajar terhadap kemampuan pemahaman membaca bahasa Inggris SMK Swasta di Kota Tangerang, (3) untuk mengetahui pengaruh penguasaan kosakata terhadap kemampuan pemahaman membaca Bahasa Inggris SMK Swasta di Kota Tangerang. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survei pada SMK Swasta di Kota Tangerang Tahun 2017/2018. Sampel terdiri dari 90 orang siswa yang dipilih secara random dari beberapa sekolah SMK Swasta di Kota Tangerang. Pengambilan data dilaksanakan dengan cara menyebarkan kuisioner. Analisis data dengan metode statistik deskriptif, uji validitas, uji realibitas, dan analisa regresi ganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan motivasi belajar dan penguasaan kosakata secara bersama-sama terhadap kemampuan pemahaman membaca Bahasa Inggris siswa SMK Swasta di Kota Tangerang. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan perolehan nilai Sig. 0,000 < 0,05 dan Fh = 33,912. (2) Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan motivasi belajar terhadap kemampuan pemahaman membaca Bahasa Inggris siswa SMK Swasta di Kota Tangerang. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan perolehan nilai Sig. 0,039 < 0,05 dan th = 2,099. (3) Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan penguasaan kosakata terhadap kemampuan pemahaman membaca Bahasa Inggris siswa SMK Swasta di Kota Tangerang. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan perolehan nilai Sig. 0,000 < 0,05 dan th = 6,881.

The purpose of this research is to find out and analyze the effects of grammar mastery and reading interest towards writing desctiptive text ability. The population that is observed in this research is students of class VIII (Eight) SMP Negeri East Jakarta. The sample is 72 respondents from 3 schools. The sample is obtained through a simple random sample, that is the researcher combined respondents in the population so that they would be measured in the same amount. This study has 3 variables which are divided into 2 independent variables (variable grammar mastery and reading interest variable) and 1 dependent variable (descriptive writing ability variable). Data collection is done through multiple choice tests, questionnaires and written tests for all variables. Data acquisition is then analyzed using multiple correlation and regression techniques. Before performing a regression test, the test of analysis requirements must be achieved first, such as normality test and linearity test. The results of this study are 1) There is a significant effect of gramma mastery and reading interest together toward writing desctiptive text ability of SMP Negeri students East Jakata.. This is evidenced by the sig score. 0.003 <0.05 and F_ count = 6.416; 2) There is an insignificant effect of grammar mastery towards writing desctiptive text ability of SMP Negeri students East Jakarta.. This is evidenced by the sig score. 0.729> 0.05 and tcount = -.347 .; 3) There is a significant effect of reading interest towards writing desctiptive text ability of SMP Negeri students East Jakarta.. This is evidenced by sig score 0.001 <0.05 and tcount = 3,578. This shows that writing desctiptive text ability is highly mastered or effected by the mastery of grammar and reading interest what they have.Keywords: Grammar Mastery, Reading Interest, writing desctiptive text ability
