Abstract

Transparency in general election and/or the election of governor, regent, and mayor, was one of the principal election. The party which was demanded to always do this principle was the organizer. Transparency in the production and implementation of the rules and transparency was about the budgeting etc. In the certain context, transparency was required in a system. Transparency in the mayor and vice election of Kupang in 2017 was the research that wanted to analyze how the subsystem in the candidate system processed. The system of the theory explained that system can be separated to each component to be analyzed as the independent entity and the component can be added as linear to picture the whole system. There were three general approaches to evaluate the subsystem. The holistic approach was to check the subsystem in a system. The functional approach to saw the top of the system to check the role in the bigger system. This study wanted to reveal the phenomenon of the political candidates in a system, how the elements of the subsystem were linear connected and influenced one to another, or not. Participant in mayor election was a couple of the candidates form a political party or the individual candidates that was recommended by a number of people. The public involvement that hardly seen, had to be from the local citizen that will be comped form political parties or individual candidates. This process was to determine the candidates of the mayor election of Kupang in 2017. The candidates should have the good and clean public institution management. This study reveals that each subsystem (input, process, and output) still had problems dan needed mending either the rules or procedures of the implication on every element that involved in the whole system. Individual candidates, from the beginning, had to be open about their intention so that the public did not refuse them. Verification procedures had to be simplified, the amount and the spreading of the supporter also had to be evaluated. This improvement had to be made by the rules which were the law. The process and procedure to determine the parties cadre in the public position had to be opened to the public and to the parties cadre. Abstract

Initially there were only two types of media, namely printed media and broadcast media. As time goes by, online media appear. Information is getting easier and faster. Society does not only get information, but can also become as a source of information. However, we do not know whether the news has been verified correctly or not. The rise of hoax becomes one of the problems in communication. This study aims to determine the role of online mass media in facing hoax. Three most frequently accessed online mass media in Indonesia are selected in this research, namely Tribunnews.com, Detik.com, and Kompas.com. The theory used is Social Responsibility Theory. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive with primary data collection techniques obtained through semi-structured interview, and secondary data through books, journals, and internet. This research found that in facing hoax, media journalists do verification by visiting the crime scene, making a call to authorities. The presence of media is to provide the correct, credible information, verify incoming information and to enlight the minds of the reader. Detik.com and Kompas.com have an anti-hoax feature on their news portal where people can make reports on news that they suspect as a hoax.Keywords:Role of Online Mass Media, Hoax, Social Responsibility Theory, Nine Elements of Journalism, Verification.

Abstract

In the middle of the growing use of mass media in Indonesia, with the presence of internet and social media, but television is still the most popular media compared to other mass media. Metro TV is one of the television stations that is concerned with the quality of their program. This research talks about audience responses to President's Corner Program on Metro TV. The aim of research is to analyze the response of the audience to President's Corner using 3 dimensions of response, which are cognitive, affective and behavioral. This research use S-O-R theory as the main theory, and other supporting theory such as responses theory, the theory of mass communications effect, television and television program. The methodology used is descriptive quantitative using questioners distributed to 70 respondents with a total population of 229 residents of residents of Maharaja RW 14, Depok. The Scale used is the Likert scale. From the results of this research, it can be concluded that the response of the audience to President's Corner program is good, with cognitive average value at 4,17, affective 3,82, and behavior at 3,42. Abstract

This study focuses on the establishment of self-image of students in the University. Soetomo Surabaya in using Instagram social media. This study is a communication research because it examines how the formation of self-image in faculty of communication science students in social media networking in Instagram is needed. The formulation of the problem of this research is how the formation of self-image of students in instagram?. Library review used by researchers is social media instagram as a means of forming self-image, student self-image, Dramaturgi theory. While the method used by researchers is descriptive qualitative. The self-image seen in the students in communication science faculty is about over confidence dominated by female students. This was indicated by several informants selected by the researcher. Based on the interviews, found the data that the formation of self-image through social media Instagram based on aspects that highlighted such as physical, psychological and social aspects.Based on the research conducted by interviews, found the findings that the students of communication science faculty dr soetomo surabaya use instagram in shaping his image, The formation of self-image is always marked by the understanding of instagram users to themselves through the concept of Dramaturgi. Aspects highlighted by the informant vary depending on her understanding. The informant will highlight the part that is understood as an advantage and will cover (save) something that is understood as a weakness Keywords: Instagram, Self image.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to find out how to frame kompas.com and cnnindonesia.com in framing the news about the issue of the Meikarta project. Framing analysis using the Pan and Kosicki models. The framing results found a tendency for cnnindonesia.com members to benefit, and the positive side. Kompas.com still reports on Amdal and licensing, but also keeps giving a portion of news about promotions and benefits of Meikarta. Keywords: framing analysis, online media, meikarta.

Abstract

In line with economic growth in a positive direction followed by the increased consumption rate of motorized vehicles, moreover the facilities to obtain two-wheeled vehicles through credit are widely available. This phenomenon is also accompanied by the emergence of various types of two-wheeled communities and variants called the community of bikers. The number of bikers community contributes to traffic violations if community members do not understand driving safety safety riding. The National Police has carried out socialization to clubs or community bikers with various approaches, but the level of traffic violations on the highway is still high. The question is how is the biker community's safety riding literacy level? The role of peer group communication peer communication makes it possible to socialize and internalize safety riding among members of the community of bikers. To find out how the role of group communication in the safety riding behavior of the community of bikers researchers will conduct Kewancara and FGD on several community bikers including CB Surabaya Club, Honda club, Surabaya scooter club, which is the most existent community in Surabaya in carrying out activities on the highway, touring.
