Abstract

The success of an industry is a positive impact of integrating production factors andmanagement systems to be more effective and efficient. One of the determinants of anindustry's success is the layout, better known as the layout of the industry. Knowledge of theseincludes work centres and equipment in the conversion process to optimize the relationshipbetween implementing officers, material flow, information flow, and procedures for achievinggoals. ABC company is one of the companies engaged in the processing of oil palm fruit toproduce various kinds of products that are useful for human food, beverages, agriculture, industry, and so on. This study evaluates the layout of PT. ABC's production facilities, utilizing an activity relationship chart and activity relationship diagram approach. Researchersanalyzed the data and obtained two factory facility layout designs, the 1st and 2ndalternatives, ultimately selecting the latter. The chosen layout design is more organized andsupports the smooth running of production activities, providing significant advantages for thecompany.

Abstract

Environmental sanitation plays an important role in increasing the degree of health in the world. One of the applications of sanitation is in the industrial world known as work environment sanitation. Sanitation in the work environment needs to be done so that workers are protected from disease. In addition, workers will feel safe and comfortable when working if the available sanitation meets the requirements. Observations were made in the Yogyakarta City Bread Industry to see the sanitary conditions of the work environment in the industry. The purpose of this research is to observe sanitation conditions regarding the Regulation of the Minister of Industry of the Republic of Indonesia No. 75/M-IND/PER/7/2010. The method used is direct observation in the industry using a checklist form and supporting data such as noise, lighting, temperature and humidity. The results of the analysis found that the sanitation of the work environment for bakery industry A in Yogyakarta City did not meet the requirements.

Abstract

The palm oil industry is developing very rapidly in Indonesia, so the absorption of labor in palm oil factories has also increased. The demand to be able to produce Crude Palm Oil (CPO) optimally pushes the risk of physical work, especially at the sorting station. This study aimed to determine the effect of age, gender, and cigarette consumption on increasing workload using the Cardiovascular Load (CVL) method. This research was carried out by collecting pulse data for 8 workers using a pulse oximeter which was carried out before work (DNI) and while working (DNK). The results showing the level of physical workload on sorting workers using the CVL method found that 4 employees had a CVL percentage between 30% - 60%, namely having a moderate physical workload that required improvement. In comparison, the other 4 employees had a CVL percentage <30%, namely no significant loading occurs. The energy consumption expended by sorting workers is ±107 Kcal/hour.

Abstract

Rapid industrial growth worldwide, especially in Indonesia, has posed threats to the environment and public health. Environmental pollution is mainly caused by domestic wastewater generated from households, businesses, and residential areas. Types of domestic wastewater that need attention include human feces or waste, urine, detergents, soaps, and food scraps. Wastewater pollution from households has become increasingly critical due to the rise in household activities and urbanization in Indonesia. To address the issue of household wastewater pollution, efficient wastewater management systems and increased public awareness are necessary. The implementation of filtration technology is a crucial solution to maintain water quality. Filtration is a process of separating solid particles from liquids using filtering media or screens. The results of filtration can produce cleaner and safer water, and this technology continues to be developed to meet the demand for high-quality and safe water. This experiment aims to create a simple filtration bottle using recycled materials and demonstrate its effectiveness in reducing the content of household wastewater. The filtration process resulted in a 79.32% reduction in COD content, an 85% reduction in TSS content, and a 91.3% reduction in turbidity. By utilizing recycled materials and efficient filtration technology, it can help mitigate the negative impact of domestic wastewater on the environment. In conclusion, the utilization of recycled materials as a simple filtering tool can reduce the content of household wastewater and contribute to maintaining a clean and healthy environment. The awareness and participation of the community in using this filtering tool can have a greater positive impact on the environment.

Abstract

The development of the industrial sector requires researchers to continue in innovate, from anindustrial management system, workflow design, to product innovation. There are so manyinnovations from products that are created to make it easier for users to do their work. But still, there are many MSMEs that still use human energy to do certain jobs, one of which is liftingand carrying loads manually or commonly referred to as Manual Materials. Handling (MMH).In one case of the MSMEs spare part distributor "Sigma Motor", it was found that the workersstill use Manual Material Handling, and this material handling is done repeatedly with thedistance that they must travel in 8 meters. With this distance each worker per minute can manageto transport 3 boxes at a time. This has an impact on reduced work productivity, the emergenceof pain in workers both temporary and permanent, increasing the possibility of accidents. Thisstudy uses the Nordic Body Map (NDM) method to analyze the most common complaints andthe Rapid Entire Body Assessment (REBA) method to analyze worker posture. As well asanthropometric measurements to determine the dimensions of the trolley design for proposal toMSMEs. This study aims to determine complaints of pain, worker posture when handlingmaterials, and existing risks. Also, to design a trolley for proposal to MSMEs with ergonomicsstudies. With the proposal design trolley, hope that can help workers in transporting boxes ofgoods from the loading area to container trucks and in other way. So, the result of this researchis to change a work process on MSMEs in material handling by using tools from the trolleydesign as a suggestion to MSMEs to help workers in material handling.
