Abstract

Palm oil holds a significant position within Indonesia's commodities sector due to the high economic value per hectare that oil palm plantations yield, making it one of the country's vital commodities. Evaluating the quality of oil palm fruits fit for production requires a precise mechanism. One effective approach is the application of the SMART method, which stands for Simple Multi-Attribute Technique. SMART is a model employed to identify the optimal alternative from a set of options based on specific criteria. The outcomes of this study indicate several key findings. Firstly, the decision support system developed accelerates data processing during the decision-making process to determine the suitability of oil palm fruit for production. Additionally, the application of this decision support system adapts to the dynamic nature of weight value determination, making it adjustable to varying needs in assessing the quality of oil palm fruit production. The SMART method proves to be highly suitable for decision-making, especially for rapidly and accurately determining the production-worthy quality of oil palm fruit. Notably, the test results using the SMART method yielded a remarkable accuracy rate of 100%.

Abstract

Advancements in data communications and computer networks have facilitated communication among numerous individuals using various hardware and software technologies. However, this progress also brings about a significant challenge: data and information security. Safeguarding data and information transmitted over communication networks necessitates the implementation of a data security system. One effective approach to achieve this is by utilizing cryptographic techniques. Cryptography involves encoding data transmitted through a network in a manner that only authorized parties can decipher. Data that remains unencrypted is referred to as plaintext, and once encrypted, it becomes ciphertext. Before the advent of computers, cryptography relied on character-based algorithms, often known as classical cryptographic algorithms. This research focuses on applying classical cryptography to encrypt and decrypt text data exchanged via chat applications. The test results demonstrate that the encryption and decryption processes effectively maintain data confidentiality.

Abstract

The school principal must be an integral part of the improvement of education quality, collaborating with teachers and other school staff to foster and enhance the educational quality in the school as optimally as possible according to established standards. The decision-making process for selecting a school head at the Education Office of Serdang Bedagai Regency is relatively challenging due to various criteria that influence the decision (both subjective and objective criteria). With a Decision Support System (DSS), humans can obtain information to support decision-making. The decision support system currently being developed includes the Technique for Order of Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) methods. TOPSIS is used in ranking to determine the best school head alternative. From the research results, it can be concluded, among other things: TOPSIS methods in the built decision support system is capable of providing final results that meet the criteria for the candidates for the State High School Head. The accuracy level of the testing results is 100%.

Abstract

A hernia is the protrusion of an organ or tissue through an abnormal opening. It occurs when the contents of a cavity protrude through a defect (weak channel) or a weak part of the corresponding cavity wall. In children, hernias usually occur in one of two places: around the navel or in the groin or scrotum area. Reckless handling of hernia, especially in cases of umbilical hernia in children, can lead to serious problems, even death. Therefore, accurate information is crucial in managing hernia in children, and it can be facilitated by an expert system application using the Bayesian Theorem method. The Bayesian Theorem is a theorem commonly used to calculate probabilities for a specific hypothesis. It serves as the basis for Bayesian statistics, with applications in microeconomics, science, game theory, and medicine. Research findings conclude that the expert system built is highly beneficial in expediting early treatment of hernia in children. The developed expert system application is dynamic in determining symptoms, weights, and solutions, allowing for customization. The Bayesian Theorem method proves to be suitable for swift and accurate implementation in diagnosing and treating hernia in children. The accuracy level of the testing results using the Bayesian Theorem method is 100%.

Abstract

In the field of agriculture there are some kinds of food crops that are developed and cultivated such as grapes, strawberries, corn, soybeans and so on which are essential food. The farmers should choose the land that is suitable for their food type. If the farmers do not choose the appropriate land, the result is a poor harvest or may be a failure to harvest. However, this is not done, because it takes a long process and impedes the process of cultivation of food crops. However, such problems can be solved using the Decision Support System, because with the Decission Support System (DSS) humans can obtain information in support of decisions. Weighted Product is a decision-support system that is currently evolving with several methods, including the weighted product method. This method is chosen by the authors because the weights product method requires a normalization process, because this method depends on the evaluation of each attribute. The result of the multiplication is not meaningful if not compared (divided) with the standard value. The weight for the benefit attribute serves as a positive rank in the overlapping process, while the cost weight acts as a negative rank. From the results of the research can be concluded among other things: The decision-supporting system built is very helpful in the selection of crop types of food crops UPTD Rare Agriculture.
