Abstract

Several pathogenic bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia, Pseudomonas aeruginosa and other pathogenic bacteria have developed resistance to many marketed antibiotics. Staphylococcus aureus is already resistant to several types of antibiotics such as penicillin, erythromycin, cefoxitin, levofloxacin, and clindamycin, Escherichia is resistant to several antibiotics such as Penicillin G, Cefotaxime, Tetracycline, Ampicillin, and Amoxicillin, Pseudomonas aeruginosa has been resistant to antibiotics that target ribosomes, such as tobramycin and tigecycline. The problem of resistance of several pathogenic bacteria can be overcome by finding new metabolite compounds from Actinomycetes microorganisms that have antibiotic potential by exploring extreme areas, one of which is in the karst area, especially in plant roots. Root sampling was carried out by taking samples + 20 cm on each type of plant found. Isolation of Actinomycetes bacteria was carried out using the plate method. Antibacterial activity testing was carried out using the line method. The morphological form of the spores was seen using a SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope). The results of the study found 2 isolates of isolated plant roots containing Actinomycetes bacteria. 2 isolates showed morphological characteristics of mycelium, oval and round in shape and had various colors. The results of the antibacterial activity test showed that each isolate could inhibit several types of pathogenic bacteria, seen from the clear zone with different diameters and the results of SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy) showed that 2 isolates had the same character and shape of spores as Actinomycetes, namely the genus Streptomyces.

Abstract

Electromagnetic waves are formed from a combination of interacting electric and magnetic waves. The source of these waves can come from natural phenomena or man-made devices. Electromagnetic waves can propagate in all directions (omnidirectional) or in a directional manner, depending on the device and media used. As technology advances, the intensity of electromagnetic radiation from various devices continues to increase, with varying impacts on human health. Excessive and prolonged use of mobile phones can increase the risk of health problems, such as brain tumors (glioma and acoustic neuroma), as well as impaired cognitive function, including working memory deficits and behavioral changes that indicate damage to the hippocampus. This shows that radiation from mobile phones has a real impact on brain health. For this reason, disseminating information on how to prevent the negative impacts of mobile phones is very important, especially for vulnerable groups such as children and adolescents. In order to further understand the impact of electromagnetic waves, a study was conducted using the C4.5 algorithm which produces a decision tree model. This analysis provides insight into risk patterns, where the duration of mobile phone use and the distance of the device from the head are the main factors that affect brain health. The results of the study showed that using a mobile phone for more than 4 hours per day, especially at close range (less than 10 cm), significantly increased the risk of health problems such as headaches, sleep disorders, and decreased cognitive function. These findings emphasize the importance of using mobile phones wisely to minimize health risks.

Abstract

The landscape of security and peace continues to evolve. Over time, women have become a vital yet vulnerable group whose security is often at risk. However, the Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) agenda aims to promote well-being, equality, and respect for diversity, while also encouraging women's roles as agents of peace in fostering social cohesion and strengthening societal resilience across economic, social, and cultural domains. In Indonesia, the implementation of the RPA on WPS has been carried out through Regional Action Plans (RAD) across 12 provinces and 22 villages, including Yogyakarta. In this region, the agenda is supported by a specialized agency, the Office for the Empowerment of Women, Child Protection, and Population Control (DP3AP2), as well as the Governor of Yogyakarta's Regulation No. 12 of 2023. This research aims to analyze the implementation of Yogyakarta's RAD, which is derived from Indonesia's National Action Plan (RAN) on WPS. A qualitative approach is employed, with a tipping point analysis to evaluate how provinces and regions enact the WPS agenda through their respective RADs. Additionally, this study incorporates Cyber feminist theory to examine the role of social media in disseminating the WPS agenda to the public in Indonesia. Active participation by women’s organizations, supported by the implementation of RAD WPS, has the potential to raise awareness and responsiveness to violence against women. It also strengthens efforts to protect and empower women within the framework of policies and laws.

Abstract

This study focuses on observing the structure of mangrove vegetation in Popalo Village, North Gorontalo Regency. Scientists found that the condition of mangrove forests in the area is not uniform, with some areas still well maintained, especially near rivers and beaches, while other areas, especially near settlements, have been damaged due to land conversion into ponds. This type of research is descriptive quantitative using a survey method. The most dominant type of mangrove found is Rhizophora. In addition, this study also shows that environmental factors such as temperature, air acidity, and salt levels greatly affect the growth and development of mangroves. Overall, the results of this study highlight the importance of better conservation and management efforts for mangrove forests in Popalo Village to maintain the sustainability of coastal ecosystems.

Abstract

Karst ecosystem is one of the extreme marginal areas or types of soil that has low soil fertility. Soil in the karst ecosystem has a relatively high calcium (Ca) content which can affect the availability of phosphorus (P). However, there is microbial activity that can provide nutrient needs for plants to stay alive, one of which is Actinomycetes. This research method uses a quantitative research method, rhizosphere soil samples were taken at three locations, namely Bangga hill, Panipi hill around Lake Limboto, and Olohuta hill with a purposive sampling method. The results of the study showed that there were 7 isolates of Actinomycetes found associated with 5 types of plants in the karst ecosystem. Actinomycetes isolates showed almost uniform morphological, colony and cell characteristics dominated by white. The results of the anticandida activity test showed that there were 2 isolates (KSLl and KSIc) that inhibited the growth of Candida albicans, KSLl with an inhibition zone diameter of 10.5 mm and KSIc with an inhibition zone diameter of 17.5 mm. Molecular identification based on 16S RRNA gene sequences showed that the KSLl isolate was closely related to Streptomyces aegyptia with a similarity index of 99.64% and the KSIc isolate was closely related to Istreptomyces sp with a similarity index of 99.57%.

Abstract

Land is something that cannot be separated from human life, because it has various functions for community life. Therefore, many people make purchases and sales with land as the object. As stated in Decision 23/Pdt/.G/2021/Pn.Pli when the Applicant asked the Court to assist the Applicant in providing legal certainty and accountability to the Defendant for the land owned by the Applicant which had not been changed for a long time. This study aims to determine the conformity between the Decision of the Panel of Judges and related laws and regulations and the legal consequences for the parties in this case. The research method used in this case study is a normative legal approach, by reviewing and examining secondary data such as the Decision of the Pelaihari District Court, the Civil Code, the Basic Agrarian Law, and other library materials such as books and journals to analyze related decisions. This study also uses a descriptive analytical method, which aims to describe or describe the object of research based on the materials that have been collected. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that land registration according to UUPA is an obligation to obtain legal certainty, as regulated in Article 19 and Article 23 paragraph (1) and (2) UUPA. In the context of the Civil Code, legal certainty for the plaintiff has not been fulfilled because the name change process has not been carried out, according to Article 1239 and Article 1241 of the Civil Code, which in its implementation is supported by PP Number 24 of 1997 concerning Land Registration.
