Abstract

Abstract

Microgreen is a small vegetable or young edible plant with a soft texture. The purpose of this paper is to find out microgreen can be a solution in providing vegetable food in urban areas and to find out the content contained. The method used is literature review which is a reference to understand the research conducted by searching by reading various sources of books, journals, and other publications. The results of this writing microgreen does not require large areas of land for production, simple planting media. The advantages of microgreen include very easy maintenance, saving space, saving time and saving energy. The nutritional content contained in microgreen is at least 4-10 times more than that of vegetables in general.

Abstract

The objectives of this research is to obtain the best concentration of liquid rubber smoke as a growth regulator in the germination of Arabica, Robusta and Liberica coffee seeds. Method of research: location of the research was on Seed Technology Laboratory University of Jambi, the research design was carried out using a randomized block design consisting of a factorial pattern based on 3 factors (Types of Coffee species: Arabica from Kerinci, Robusta from Merangin, and Liberica from Tanjung Jabung Barat), 3 levels of treatment for providing liquid smoke rubber 0%, 2.5%, 5%, by soaking for 5 minutes. With 3 repetitions test. Statistical data analysis by anova using SPSS. The result shows that 3 species of coffee give different response of the treatments, Arabica and Robusta seeds species has relative equal statistical response to Liberica coffee,   concentration 2.5% of diluted liquid rubber smoke give the best germination and vigor seeds response performance.

Abstract

A significant transition from fossil fuel-based economy to one based on biomass is occurring as a result of global warming, socioeconomic challenges, and new policies, which are propelling decarbonisation process across industries. The usage of bioplastics is the most effective way to address the issue of plastic trash. Bioplastics are a safe and sustainable substitute for petrochemical or traditional plastics that lessen our reliance on fossil fuels. The strategic substitution of sustainable products for those derived from petrochemicals not only promotes environmental conservation but also advances the achievement of several sustainable development goals (SDGs). Post-treatment methods, such as photolysis, thermochemical treatment, and biodegradation were used in this study. These alternatives support in lowering greenhouse gas emissions and increasing resource efficiency, which greatly supports SDGs 12 and 15, Responsible Consumption and Production and Life on Land, respectively. This study explores how the (SDGs) could be implemented effectively and makes it clear that sustainable consumption and production (SCP) should be given significant consideration in their production.

Abstract

Plastics are widely distributed across organisms of various trophic levels and in terrestrial, freshwater, marine, and other environments. Recently, plastics have emerged as significant environmental pollutants, attracting public concern. This systematic literature review identifies sources of plastic waste, including food packaging, household hazardous waste, and wood waste, highlighting their detrimental impacts on water bodies, environmental health, and animal life. Analytical techniques such as Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy (AAS), and Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) are essential for detecting and quantifying plastic pollutants. Prevention strategies, including source reduction, public awareness campaigns, legislative measures, and the implementation of pollution control techniques, are crucial in mitigating plastic waste in water bodies. Future research should focus on developing innovative materials and sustainable alternatives to plastics, enhancing waste management infrastructure, and fostering global collaboration to address the plastic pollution crisis effectively.
