Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the oil and gas industry on socio-economic inequality in the market aspect of Bojonegoro Regency from the perspective of Islamic economics. Using a descriptive quantitative approach, the research was conducted in areas surrounding oil and gas exploitation sites, employing data collection methods such as observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation studies. The results indicate that the oil and gas industry has transformed the local market structure into an oligopolistic system, where large-capital business actors dominate the trade and service sectors, leading to economic exclusion of micro and small enterprises. Additionally, the surge in goods and service prices has increased the cost of living without being balanced by equitable income distribution among the local community. A simple linear regression analysis shows a significant but weak relationship between the presence of the oil and gas industry and the increase in local community income (R² = 0.28). From the perspective of Islamic economics, this condition contradicts the principles of distributive justice (al- ‘adl) and public welfare (maslahah). Therefore, affirmative policies from local governments and more equitable and sustainable corporate social responsibility programs by oil and gas companies are needed to realize socio-economic balance in oil and gas-producing regions.

Abstract

The development of Islamic finance in Indonesia has increased significantly, but the Islamic pension fund subsector remains slow. This is despite the high growth of the global Islamic economy and Indonesia's large Muslim population, which should present significant opportunities for the development of Sharia-compliant pension instruments. This study aims to identify and analyze the challenges and opportunities for developing Sharia-compliant pension funds in Indonesia using a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, as a basis for strategic policy in building the future of national Islamic finance. The qualitative SLR approach was based on the PRISMA method. Literature from 2015–2025 was collected through Google Scholar, SINTA, and GARUDA. Articles meeting the inclusion criteria were thematically analyzed to identify regulatory, institutional, innovation, and socio-literacy issues. The main challenges are the immature legal framework, low literacy on Sharia pensions, and limited innovative products. Opportunities include support from Muslim demographics, government incentives, and the involvement of Islamic financial institutions.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the contribution of Islamic banking in driving national economic growth and to understand how Islamic principles are able to answer the challenges of digital transformation in the financial sector. Islamic banking is a financial institution that operates based on Islamic principles, such as justice, partnership, and avoidance of usury, by prioritizing a profit-sharing system through contracts such as mudharabah, musyarakah, murabahah, and ijarah. In the context of Indonesia, the existence of Islamic banks has shown significant development, supported by the largest Muslim population in the world and increasing public awareness of ethical and fair finance. Data from Bank Indonesia shows a stable growth in the number of Islamic institutions, as well as the expansion of operational networks in various regions. This study also discusses the importance of digital transformation in improving the efficiency, quality of service, and competitiveness of Islamic banking in the technological era. The results of the study show that Islamic banking not only plays a role as a business entity, but also as a strategic socio-economic instrument in creating sustainable public welfare. Thus, the Islamic financial system has great potential to become the foundation of an inclusive and equitable national economy in the future.
