Abstract

This article are based on library research regarding the concept of good and bad in the perspective of Javanese Muslim thought. The aim is to revise the designation of santri, priyayi and abangan and on the other hand to understand the Javanese ethics which are thought to be relativism ethics but on one side for respect attitudes and harmony with its moral values can create prosperity and progress even in post-colonial conditions. These values and results are suitable for the world view and life of Javanese Muslims whose transcendental rational vision is symbolized by Bima reaching kawruh sangkan paraning dumadi and Semar who live always under the guidance of the Divine. The success of this vision may be similar to the time when King Mangkunegara IV achieved the progress, among other things, even though it was in post-colonial conditions but during the time it was called Kala Sumbaga, a prosperous period. Therefore it can be an alternative thought for the advancement of the present and future.

Abstract

Since the arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic in Indonesia, the education process has been carried out online for all levels. However, this policy cannot be applied to pesantren educational institutions that continue to conduct offline learning. The question is how can Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) survive the Covid-19 pandemic ?. There are institutions that play an active role in controlling and preventing it. Nahdlatul Ulama' (NU) as the largest community organization in Indonesia, has a Rabithah Ma'ahid Islamiyyah(RMI) which focuses on sheltering thousands of Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) throughout Indonesia. This article focuses on looking at the role of RMI in assisting Islamic boarding schools in dealing with the Covid-19 pandemic. By using a qualitative-descriptive approach that bases data on interviews, observation and documentation, this article shows that RMI has an important role in assisting Islamic boarding schools against Covid-19. First, at the prevention stage, RMI PBNU gave an appeal through official notifications to all pesantren, socializing health protocols with flayers, pamphlets, etc. Second, at the detect and respond stage, RMI PBNU implemented a task force training program (SATGAS) for handling COVID-19 at Islamic boarding schools, providing virus detection machines (PCR machines), together with the Nahdlatul Ulama Doctors Association (PDNU) accompanying COVID-19 cases in Islamic boarding schools.

Abstract

This article discusses zarrah in two perspectives of the interpretation book produced by the Ministry of Religion of the Republic of Indonesia, namely the tahlili interpretation which is named al-Qur’an dan Tafsirnya and the scientific interpretation with the theme of microogranisms. This is deemed necessary considering that the Indonesian Ministry of Religion has three interpretive products with different perspectives. Using the analytical descriptive method, it is found that the Qur’an and it’s interpretation are more focused on explanations that understand the Indonesian people by providing motivation using the reward and punishment method. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Religion’s scientific interpretation focuses more on the explanation and analysis of scientific theories.

Abstract

This article discusses the meaning of jihad in QS. Al-'Ankabut: 6-7 and its relevance in preventing the covid-19 virus. This type of research is literature, using qualitative descriptive-analytical methods with the Ma'nā Cum Magzhā approach, namely by describing the meaning of jihad in the 7th century (linguistic analysis), looking at asbabun nuzul (historical analysis), the relationship of verses with other verses/munasabah verse (intratextual analysis), the relationship of the verse with the text outside the Qur'an (intertextual analysis), the meaning of the verse (maghza dates), and contextualization of the verse with the present era (maghza al-mutkharik al-mu'ashir). This study will focus on three aspects of the discussion, firstly related to the original meaning of jihad which was seen in the 7th century, namely when the Qur'an was revealed, Second, discussing the original meaning of jihad contained in QS. Al-'Ankabut: 6-7. The third explains the relevance of the meaning of jihad to current contemporary issues, namely COVID-19. The results of this study indicate that the first jihad is the ability to be serious in the face of difficulties or trials in fighting enemies, demons, and against oneself, namely fighting lust with the sole purpose of seeking the pleasure of Allah SWT. The second jihad in QS. Al-'Ankabut verses 6-7 are jihad to do good, do good deeds, and preach to invite mankind to convert to Islam, and be patient in facing trials. The third relevance of the meaning of jihad to the current contemporary issue, namely covid-19, can be seen when someone tries to fight jihad against COVID-19, namely by complying with government regulations such as self-isolation, PSBB, physical distancing, and implementing a healthy lifestyle. In addition, it also strives in terms of spirituality by doing good deeds such as practicing special prayers to avoid the plague and getting closer to Allah SWT.

Abstract

This article examines the Lajnah Pentashihan Mushaf Al-Qur'an (LPMQ) in Indonesia which has the authority to provide corrections and recommendations, as well to supervise the distribution of Mushaf in Indonesia. In a decade recently, the massive flow of digitalization in Indonesia has also influenced the emergence of variety of digital Qur'ans with various problems. Hence the response and role of LPMQ in digital Qur'an correction process is important. Based on qualitative data and Max Weber's theory of rational-legal authority, this article shows that LPMQ awares and supports the emergence of digital Qur'an in Indonesia with several policies. However, several policies do not seem to work well due to the lack of qualified human resources in the field of Information technology. In this case, LPMQ seems to still maintain the old way in the process of the mushaf ratifying. In terms of authority, LPMQ  has the legitimacy of having the authority to perform ratifying of digital Qur'an. LPMQ as institution also has legality to affirm or certify a product. As well as the authority is allowed to issue an order such as a set of rules, in which it is drawn up by the institution holding the authority and must be obeyed by the publisher of digital Quran.
