Abstract

Background: Gili Trawangan, one of the famous tourist destinations on the island of Lombok, is facing the problem of increasing waste volume caused by population growth and rapid tourism activities. This research aims to analyze the impact of population growth on increasing waste volume on Gili Trawangan during the 2024-2033 period. Methods: The method used in this research is waste growth prediction analysis by referring to the results of population projections and standardization of the amount of waste generation. Findings: The data used includes the population of Gili Trawangan over the last 10 years, waste generation per individual, and waste density. Conclusion: The research results show that population growth on Gili Trawangan is increasing every year with an average growth rate of 1.09%. The weight of waste generated per person is 0.7 kg/person/day, while the volume of waste generated per person is 5.6 liters/person/day. The projected total daily waste weight on Gili Trawangan in 2033 is estimated to reach 1.24 tons/day, with an annual total waste weight of 452.60 tons. The total daily waste volume in 2033 is estimated to reach 9.92 m3/day. The conclusion of this research is that population growth and increased tourism activities are the main factors influencing the increase in the volume of waste generation on Gili Trawangan. Comprehensive and sustainable waste management efforts are needed, such as implementing the 3R principle (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) to overcome waste problems in stages. The results of this research can be a reference for local governments and related stakeholders in planning and developing an effective and efficient waste management system in Gili Trawangan, in order to preserve the environment and support sustainable tourism in the area.

Abstract

Background: The application of agricultural technology has an important role in increasing the productivity and efficiency of farming businesses. A case study in Sroyo Village, Jaten District, Karanganyar Regency shows that the application of technological innovations such as tractor engines, rice harvesting machines and rice milling units has had a positive impact on increasing agricultural yields. Apart from that, the transfer of knowledge and knowledge through extension by the Agricultural Extension Center (BPP) also contributes to improving farmers' skills in crop cultivation and animal husbandry. Methods: The analytical method used is the descriptive method. Findings: Although there are challenges such as environmental pollution due to industrial waste around agricultural land, this problem can be overcome by utilizing irrigation from local wells. The main potential of Sroyo Village lies in the rice commodity, where farmers are able to carry out three harvests a year, supported by the availability of adequate irrigation. Abstract

Background: Forests are a source of life for the Dayak people. The various activities of the Dayak community towards the forest provide an understanding that the relationship between the Dayak community and the forest is an interaction that is a reciprocal relationship. Forests provide living resources to meet the needs of the Dayak people, and the Dayak people always maintain forest preservation in accordance with their culture. Grouping forests based on their function is a form of Dayak community participation in an effort to map their territory and maintain the sustainability of forest functions considering that the Dayak community's life depends on the forest. The rotational farming system is a way of managing forests for farming that has been carried out for generations by the Dayak people in a natural and traditional way. For the Dayak people, most of whom make their living as farmers, farming activities are the most suitable source of meeting their food needs. Methods: In this study, the author reviews various literature about the lives of the Dayak community in managing sustainable forests. Findings: However, over time, conversion of forest land and population growth has resulted in the conversion of forest land which results in natural damage. Policies that prioritize economic interests such as Forest Tenure Rights (HPH), Industrial Plantation Forests (HTI) change the behavior of the Dayak people and forget their traditional knowledge. Conclusion: Massive clearing of forest areas for industrial areas results in damage to the environment and ecosystem habitat, both biotic and abiotic, one way that becomes a national issue is the simultaneous occurrence of forest and land fires. Local wisdom also cannot maintain the traditional knowledge of the Dayak community which might be a solution to preserving nature. Young people who are expected to be the successors of the heritage appear to be indifferent to cultural preservation that has been proven to be sustainable. The cultural values that are lived are considered a burden on the development of the times.

Abstract

The social exchange theory explains how employees will reciprocate the good treatment given by their superiors by displaying positive behavior through organizational citizenship behavior (OCB), such as helping coworkers who are absent at work. The purpose of this research is to investigate the role of each dimension of empowering leadership, namely the meaningfulness of work, employee participation in decision-making, trust in employee performance, and granting autonomy to employees, positively and significantly predicts OCB. To answer the research question, a correlational study design using a survey was conducted on private sector employees in Indonesia. The number of survey participants was 301, with 164 female participants (54%) and 137 male participants (46%). The data were analysed using multiple linear regression analysis techniques with SPSS v.23. The results of the study indicated that only the dimensions of meaningfulness of work and trust in employee performance could positively and significantly predict OCB. Theoretical and practical implications are further discussed.
