The FEMA P-58-5 method is a method used to obtain the performance of a building structure using a probability approach. The purpose of this reserach is to obtain the performance of the object prior to pinfluence of the planned earthquake (2017 Earthquake Hazard Map). The object is a government building in Tembilahan City, consists of : Immigration Office, Regent's Office, Puri Husada Hospital and Rusunawa. Geographically, Tembilahan is located at coordinates 103° 9' 28" E, 0° 18' 54" S. Base on the provisions of SNI 1726-2019, the soil characteristics of the city of Tembilahan is belongs to soft soil site class (SE). The FEMA P-58-5 method uses the PACT program. The first step is to determine the seismic hazard level, type of the main lateral load-bearing structure, the function of the building, risk category, number of floors, base shear force and story drift . The second step is to input the variable data into PACT. The third step is to analyze the FEMA P-58 PACT output, collapse probability, casualty rate, mean repair time, total repairability, unsafe placardThe results of building structure is categorized as safe, assessed from the collapse fragility variable, 0.4%. Damage that occurs is assessed from structural components that can be repaired (total repairability variable) is ± 92.83% and the potential for fatalities (casualty rate variable), ± 0.4%). The correlation of the variables using the FEMA P-58-5 method concluded that the collapse fragility variable is directly proportional to the variables of unrepairable permanent drift, median loss probability, mean loss probability, casualty rate, total repairability, mean repair time and unsafe placard. Evaluation of building performance using the FEMA P-58-5 method estimates that the structure of the building suffered light to severe damage (sequential): Puri Husada Hospital Tembilahan, Immigration Office, Regent's Office and Rusunawa Tembilahan. Potensial of casualty rate for government building users respectively are RSUD Puri Husada Tembilahan (0,1 %), Kantor Imigrasi (1,1 %), Kantor Bupati (0,2 %) dan Rusunawa Tembilahan (0,2 %)

Bukit Bungkuk wildlife sanctuary is located in Kampar Regency, Riau Province with an area of 12,828.88 Ha. Based on the Decree of the Minister of Forestry No. 3917/Menhut-VII/KUH/2014, this area is designated as a conservation area with wildlife sanctuary status. The socio-economic conditions and land use patterns in this area was carried out through structured interviews with the determination of respondents by purposive sampling. Communities in bordered of Bukit Bungkuk wildlife sanctuary covers by District XIII Koto Kampar, Kuok and Salo. Generally, people who live in border areas are natives of Kampar Regency. The pattern of utilization of the Bukit Bungkuk wildlife sanctuary by the community includes harvesting non-timber forest products and land use for plantations. The goverment institution as the manager of Bukit Bungkuk wildlife sanctuary comes with the new paradigms which are the communities of area bordered treatment by empowerment schemes. This effort to quarantee the stabilization of conservation areas inline with the livelihood of the communities bordered..

Environmental problems are increasingly showing an increase. This indicates that environmental policies have not been successful. Exploitation of natural resources and the environment has led to a worsening of the environmental quality of natural resources, particularly in terms of monitoring and developing living mechanisms. Environmental protection and management based on Article 1 point (2) of Law Number 32 of 2009 concerning Environmental Protection and Management (UUPPLH) is a systematic and integrated effort made to preserve environmental functions and prevent environmental pollution and/or damage that includes planning, utilization, control, maintenance, supervision, and law enforcement. Given the complexity of environmental protection and management and the problems that are cross-sectoral and regional in nature, in the implementation of development it is necessary to plan and implement environmental protection and management that are in line with the principles of sustainable development, namely balanced economic, socio-cultural and environmental development as the pillars interdependent and mutually reinforcing one another. In its implementation it involves various parties, as well as strictness in complying with environmental law. It is hoped that with the participation of various parties and supervision and compliance with laws that can really be enforced, it can be used as a common reference for managing the environment in a wise way so that the goals of sustainable development can really be implemented in the field and not stop at mere slogans.

Land cover in forested area has changed rapidly. This study aims to determine the existing conditions and changes in land cover in the Sungai Pulai Protection Forest Area on Bintan Island, Riau Islands in the last 13 (thirteen) years from 2009 – 2022 along with the contributing factors. This research was conducted using survey and interview methods. Data analysis consisted of map analysis and descriptive analysis. The results showed that there were 9 (nine) classes of land cover in the Sungai Pulai Protected Forest area in the period 2009 – 2022, namely secondary forest, shrubs, plantations, dry land agriculture, dry land agriculture mixed with shrubs, open land, bodies of water, settlements and airport. The most extensive land cover in the Sungai Pulai Protection Forest is palm oil plantations covering an area of 241.51 ha (32.12%), followed by dryland agriculture mixed with shrubs covering an area of 221.19 ha (29.42%), settlements covering 120.18 ha (15.99%), and dryland agriculture area of 71.99 ha (9.58%). Changes in land cover are caused by community activities in forest areas including agriculture, settlements, illegal logging, forest fires, and palm oil plantations by companies. The increase in these activities was caused by weak law enforcement, increasing population, economic needs of the community and lack of public awareness about the importance of forest functions.

Biotechnology activities related to genetic engineering in plants are currently developing rapidly. This is done to overcome several problems related to improving the quality of food crops as well as various obstacles encountered during crop cultivation. However, along with the development of transgenic plants, various environmental issues due to genetic engineering technology in plants have emerged. The perpetrators of genetic engineering technology development must of course continue to apply environmental ethics so that cases related to the development of genetic engineering products do not occur. Therefore, efforts are needed to apply environmental ethical principles to genetic engineering technology. Several principles of environmental ethics include (1) respect for nature; (2) The principle of moral responsibility (moral responsibility for nature); (3) cosmic solidarity; (4) compassion and concern for nature (caring for nature); (5) The principle of not causing damage (no harm principle); (6) Living simply and in harmony with nature; (7) The principle of justice; (8) The principle of democracy; (9) The principle of moral integrity. In addition to upholding the ethical principles of the environment, government regulations regarding the safety regulations for genetically engineered products must still be complied with in order to avoid the risk of negatively impacting these engineered products.

Smoking is one of the negative habits that is quite difficult to change even though its negative effects have often been informed. Cigarette smoke is not only harmful to active smokers but also passive smokers. So the habit of smoking should be stopped. In Pekanbaru city, there is an area that has been officially designated as a smoke-free area, namely RT 05 RW 05 Agrotourism Village, Rumbai District. Although the smoking habit is difficult to change, in this predetermined area there continues to be an increase in the number of respondents who smoke. This study analyzed what factors influenced respondents to stop smoking and comply with the norms of the smoke-free area. This research uses a descriptive quantitative approach. With a population of all residents of RT 05 RW 05 who are categorized as having smoked, there are 24 people who are also used as samples. Sampling is done by census. quantitative processing of data with simple mathematics. The results showed that the factors that influence people's compliance with the norms of smoke-free areas are public knowledge of the norms of smoke-free areas and knowledge of the dangers of cigarettes, involvement in socialization, supervision and situations.
