Abstract

Breast cancer is the highest cause of death for women in Indonesia. The number of deaths from breast cancer reached more than 22 thousand cases or 16.6% of 68,858 cases. The high incidence of breast cancer in women is caused by the lack of early health education. Therefore, this community service aims to increase student's knowledge about the early detection of breast cancer through BSE health education as a promotive and preventive effort. The target of this community service is 29 students at Islamic Senior High School Qamarul Huda. Health education media is used in the form of leaflets. This community service is an innovative health education that ends with a discussion and question and answer process for the students. Based on the results of the evaluation, it was found that the knowledge of students increased after BSE health education with an average knowledge level of 70.90 to 86.76 which means that the level of knowledge of students became good. This has a positive impact on aspects of knowledge and attitudes of students in carrying out early detection of breast cancer. Therefore, this community service is beneficial for students at Islamic Senior High School Qamarul Huda

Abstract

Indonesia shows a relatively high prevalence of stunting, which was 27,67% in 2019 at the national level. Stunting or short stature in early childhood is a social health problem that must be addressed. The definition of stunting is that the height index according to age (TB/U) is less than minus two standard deviations (<-2 SD) compared to the growth standards of toddlers or having a height that is less than it should be achieved at a certain age. The occurrence of stunting begins in the first 1000 days of life (0–23 months) and continues until the age of 5 years. In children under the age of 5 years, stunting can cause impaired physical development, inhibition of mental growth, late motor development, and long-term effects on cognitive development until adulthood. Stunting can be prevented early, therefore the service team took the initiative to educate GEMES (Community Movement to Prevent Stunting) at Posyandu Al-Munawaroh, Sungai Landai Village, Mestong District, Muaro Jambi Regency. The method of service carried out is the provision of material on the meaning of 1000 HPK and an explanation of the causes, impacts, and prevention of stunting. Methods of implementing activities include planning, monitoring, and evaluation. The result of this service was an increase in the knowledge of mothers who had toddlers about the education provided related to GEMES from 56.3% (before being given education) to 88.8% (after education).

Abstract

Law stipulates that persons with disabilities have the right to receive health information and health protection as human beings. The City of Padang already has Regional Regulation Number 3 of 2015 concerning the equality of health rights for persons with disabilities. However, the implementation of this regional regulation is not clear in terms of fulfilling and protecting reproductive health rights for persons with disabilities. One effort that can be done is to conduct education at Special Schools (SLB) in the city of Padang so that SLB students have complex knowledge about reproductive health so that they can grow into reproductively healthy humans and avoid risky sexual behavior. SLB in Padang City with the highest number of students is Perwari Padang SLB. The problem found is that some students like to watch pornographic videos, date and even get pregnant out of wedlock. The activity method consists of preparation, implementation planning and evaluation. The activities carried out are in the form of training for teachers, educating students, providing media and visual aids. The activities carried out are in accordance with the target and are proven by an increase in the knowledge of teachers and students with disabilities about reproductive health. It is hoped that in the future there will be an increase in the quantity and quality as well as the development of reproductive health education activities for students with disabilities, so that all students with disabilities can be exposed to reproductive health information.

Abstract

The achievement of exclusive breastfeeding in Jambi province in 2020 reached 59.9%. This number has not met the target of exclusive breastfeeding set nationally by the government, which is 80% of the number of babies in Indonesia. One of the contributing factors is the less breast milk syndrome. Insufficient breastfeeding syndrome can be treated with improvements in lactation management and consuming food sources that can affect the work of the hormone prolactin in producing breast milk. Food sources based on local wisdom that have been extensively studied for their effect on breast milk production include katuk leaves, moringa leaf extract, papaya leaves and fruit, banana heart, and mung bean extract. The purpose of carrying out this educational activity is a change in knowledge and a healthier attitude. The education carried out targets an increase in the knowledge and attitudes of the education participants with the output in the form of educational media, activity results reports and journal publications. Community Service Activities will be held on July 30 2022 starting with an opening (introduction, time contract, explanation of objectives and materials to be provided and distribution of pre-test questionnaires), followed by educating participants about local foods that can increase breast milk production and ending with closing ( distribution of leaflets, distribution of post-test questionnaires, and closing greetings). This activity was attended by approximately 15 participants at PMB Yustati Ambarita. The results of the evaluation during the educational process were that the participants seemed enthusiastic about the counseling material, the participants listened to the counseling carefully and the participants asked questions related to the material that was not clear. The results of the analysis of the pre and post test questionnaires on 10 participants, there was an increase in the participants' knowledge and attitudes from before the educational activity and after the educational activity. It is hoped that breastfeeding mothers can implement the knowledge gained in order to increase milk production by consuming local food that is around the community

Abstract

Hypertension becomes a problem in old age, hypertension affect more than 1 bilion people and 13% of total deaths worldwide. The largest disease of death from noncommunicable diseases (NCD) or non-communicable diseases is caused by cardiovascular disease. Hypertension is often asymptomatic so it becomes the silent killer of death and becomes the main cause of the onset of heart disease, stroke and kidney disease . The purpose of this community service is as an effort to reduce blood pressure for the elderly with hypertension and more importantly, it can reduce the risk of hypertension complications. The method carried out is to do a blood pressure check first, then carry out interventions in the form of asihema therapy (listening to asmaul husna, handgrip relaxation, and inhaling aromatherapy). This community service was carried out for the elderly in Astambul Village, Martapura City in coordination with the Astambul health center. The results of the community service carried out showed that after the intervention of asihema therapy there was a decrease in blood pressure. Therefore, long-term management of asihema therapy can help maintain blood pressure stability in the elderly and prevent the risk of complications.

Abstract

Cervical cancer is a malignancy that often occurs in the female reproductive system and the main cause of cancer death in women, especially in developing countries. Cervical cancer is commonly called the silent killer, because it appears without the sufferer being aware of it. Delayed medical treatment can lead to a poor prognosis for healing the disease and cause death in women. Seeing that the impact of this disease is very dangerous, prevention efforts are needed to overcome this problem, one of which is by expanding the scope of health information targets. Where the target coverage does not only focus on women of childbearing age who are married or have had sexual relations but also broaden the target to young women. Women's lack of understanding about this disease can allow them to carry out risky behaviors that can increase the risk of cervical cancer. Therefore, it is necessary to have health education activities to increase the knowledge of young women about cervical cancer and its prevention efforts. Community service activities are carried out at MAN 2 Jakarta. The target of this activity is female students/teenagers. The extension method used is lecture and question and answer discussion. The results obtained from the pre and post test are an increase in knowledge of students about cervical cancer and its prevention efforts. It is hoped that the increased knowledge of young women about cervical cancer can increase awareness in preventing cervical cancer from an early age.
