Abstract

Amidst the growing global environmental concerns such as climate change, resource depletion, and pollution—sustainable business practices have become increasingly crucial. One strategic approach to gain traction in the financial sector for supporting sustainability goals is green finance. This financial instrument not only aims to channel capital towards environmentally friendly projects but also holds significant potential to support the development of SMEs. SMEs plays a vital role in the economic structure, particularly in developing countries, due to their contributions to economic growth, job creation, innovation, and market expansion. This study aims to review academic publications that examine the implementation of green finance within the SME sector and to systematically summarize existing findings to answer two key questions: the importance of implementing green finance in SMEs, and their impacts on SME development. Using the systematic literature review method, this study analyzes findings from various relevant articles to provide a comprehensive and structured understanding of the relationship between green finance, SME development, and sustainability. The findings in this study indicates that green finance implementation on SME yields positive effects on sustainability and SMEs development. This paper also uncover some factors that encourage green finance implementation and constraints that SMEs face when implementing them.

Abstract

The increasing urgency of environmental sustainability, combined with the rapid growth of social media usage, has significantly influenced consumer behavior in the digital era. Social media has evolved beyond a mere communication tool into a powerful space where consumer values, perceptions, and attitudes are shaped. Through mechanisms such as parasocial interactions with influencers, peer influence in online communities, and exposure to trust-based and user-generated content, consumers are increasingly encouraged to adopt sustainable purchasing behaviors. This study aims to examine these dynamics by conducting a systematic literature review focused on the role of social media in shaping consumer attitudes and behavior toward sustainable products. A total of 205 scholarly articles published between 2020 and 2025 were retrieved from the Watase Uake database, and 50 of them were selected for in-depth review based on relevance, quality, and methodological rigor. The selected literature was analyzed to explore patterns and trends related to consumer motivation, behavioral intention, and the effectiveness of social media in promoting sustainable consumption. The findings provide valuable insights into how digital platforms support sustainability goals and influence consumer decision-making. This review also identifies key research gaps and calls for future empirical studies to better understand and optimize the role of social media in encouraging ethical and environmentally conscious consumer practices.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the coffee sector, particularly those supported by BRI Bank, hold significant potential to contribute to national coffee exports. Various structural and operational challenges are still encountered, such as limited access to financing, low levels of technology adoption, and difficulties in meeting international market standards. This study aims to develop an empowerment model that enables MSMEs to build long-term competitive advantage through sustainable business practices. Employing a literature review approach, this study synthesizes previous empirical findings to analyze the role of BRI’s empowerment initiatives such as training, mentoring, and financing in enhancing MSME performance. The findings reveal that sustainability-oriented empowerment focusing on market-driven training, digitalization of export processes, and inclusive financing access significantly enhances the competitiveness of MSMEs. The main contribution of this study is the formulation of an integrated empowerment model based on the Resource-Based View (RBV), emphasizing the development of valuable, rare, and inimitable resources as a foundation for sustainable competitive advantage.

Abstract

This investigation explores the intricate interplay between Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) disclosures and their impact on corporate valuation and profitability, with capital structure serving as a pivotal mediating factor. Despite growing stakeholder interest in ESG practices, research findings remain inconsistent, particularly in emerging markets. Drawing upon rigorous quantitative techniques and the application of PLS-SEM analysis, our study meticulously examined a sample of 42 publicly traded companies on the Indonesia Stock Exchange spanning the years 2017 to 2023. The findings illuminate a nuanced landscape: environmental disclosure exerts a positive influence on profitability, yet its impact on firm value remains statistically insignificant. Conversely, social disclosure emerges as a significant driver of firm value, although it does not markedly enhance profitability. Intriguingly, disclosures related to governance reveal a paradoxical negative association with profitability, challenging conventional assumptions about transparency and firm performance. Capital structure plays a significant mediating role, with environmental disclosure showing positive indirect effects on both performance metrics, while social disclosure exhibits negative indirect effects. These findings contribute to understanding ESG implementation dynamics in emerging markets, highlighting how each ESG component influences corporate performance through distinct pathways. The study offers practical insights for companies integrating sustainability practices, suggesting that strategic alignment between ESG initiatives and financial management is crucial for optimizing performance outcomes in Indonesia's evolving business landscape.
