Abstract

The right promotional media is needed to increase sales of home-made products. The purpose of this study is to design an online promotional media using OpenCart that is easy and practical to use. Currently, the promotion of the sale of home-made UMKM products uses traditional promotional methods such as only displaying them in front of the house, so that the marketing reach is limited and not many people know about the home-made goods. In fact, the development of technology at this time provides a great opportunity for business actors to support home-made industry products to be widely known through online promotional media. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) research method with the Define, Design, Develop, Decemination development model. The research process includes analysis of user needs, Designing an easy-to-understand interface, developing an OpenCart-based application, and user testing and evaluation to ensure that the application can meet the marketing needs of the business actor. The result of this study is an online promotional media using the OpenCart application that can be used by business owners to promote and introduce their products to the wider community.  From the results of this study, it was found that the OpenCart application is able to be the right promotional media to increase and facilitate online transactions for selling snacks and trellises made by home industries in Lembah Melintang District, West Pasaman.

Abstract

This article discusses the design of an e-commerce-based promotion system using the OpenCart platform to support seafood processing MSMEs in Tanjungbalai Regency. This study aims to increase product visibility, expand market reach, and strengthen the competitiveness of processed products such as salted fish and anchovies, which have so far been promoted through traditional methods. The use of conventional promotion methods has been proven to limit MSME market access, so new, more effective strategies are needed to support their business growth. This study uses the Research and Development (R&D) methodology with the RAD (Rapid Application Development) development model consisting of three stages, namely the Requirements Planning, Design Workshop, Implementations stages. The results of the study show that the OpenCart platform is able to increase promotional efficiency by presenting product catalogs digitally, facilitating consumer access, and opening up opportunities for online transactions. The impact of implementing this platform includes increasing product visibility, expanding the market outside the region, and increasing competitiveness at the national and international levels. In addition, this study also provides implications for the development of human resources in MSMEs, especially in mastering information technology and digital marketing strategies. Thus, this article provides guidance for MSMEs to optimally utilize e-commerce in supporting local economic growth and improving business sustainability in the digital era.

Abstract

MSMEs in Siak District, especially those engaged in souvenir handicrafts and snacks, face major challenges in marketing their products. Many MSME players still rely on conventional marketing methods such as leaving goods in stores or pre-ordering, with delivery coverage limited to the surrounding area. Lack of employees and time constraints further exacerbate this condition. In addition, marketing only relies on social media such as Facebook, which cannot keep up with current technological developments. This research aims to design an e-commerce-based promotion system using OpenCart CMS, to facilitate the buying and selling process and introduce MSME products widely. The method used is Research And Development (R&D) with the PPE development model, namely Planning, Production, and Evaluation. The results showed that the development of an OpenCart-based e-commerce system can be a practical solution to improve the competitiveness of MSME products in the Siak District area. With this system, the buying and selling transaction process becomes easier and products can be recognized by a wide audience, as well as utilizing technology to accelerate product marketing and distribution.

Abstract

The Flower House Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in Mandau District face challenges in increasing sales of ornamental plants because they still use limited conventional marketing methods to reach customers. This condition hampers business growth and competitiveness of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises amidst the increasing need for digitalization. This article aims to design and develop an OpenCart-based e-shop which can be an effective solution for expanding market reach and increasing sales. This research uses research and development (R&D) methodology with the ADDIE development model The results of this research are in the form of web-based promotional media using the Opencart application which is designed to meet the needs of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in managing and marketing products digitally. The findings of this research indicate that OpenCart acts as an effective supporting media in increasing the competitiveness of ornamental plant products in Mandau District. This application not only functions as an e-commerce platform for buying and selling transactions, but is also a strategic tool that helps Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises promote their products more widely and efficiently. With superior features such as an informative product catalogue, integrated stock management, secure payment system, and shipping support, OpenCart provides a complete digital solution for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. The implications of this research show that an OpenCart-based e-commerce platform can be an effective digital solution to help Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises face marketing challenges in the modern era. It is hoped that this e-shop can become a digitalization model that can be used by other Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises to increase the competitiveness and sustainability of their business.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) play an important role in the Indonesian economy, including in Lubuk Basung Subdistrict. One potential sector is the food and pastry business. Despite the huge opportunities, their marketing is often constrained by market access and means of promotion. Digital technology should be able to overcome these obstacles, but many MSME players still need assistance in digital marketing strategies, especially horeca marketing. The lack of access to online platforms makes it difficult for local products to compete. In fact, food and pastries from this region have uniqueness and high quality to be marketed more widely. This research aims to develop a website-based promotion system with e-commerce using OpenCart to increase MSME sales. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the define-design-develop-disseminate model. This system has the main features of a product catalogue and web signaling, which facilitate promotion and marketing. The results showed that the implementation of OpenCart was able to improve the competitiveness of MSMEs by expanding market access and reducing marketing costs. With this system, MSMEs in Lubuk Basung can utilise digital technology more effectively. The implications of this study show that the use of OpenCart-based e-commerce not only increases sales, but also strengthens the position of MSMEs in digital competition. Abstract

The purpose of this article is to design an appropriate e-commerce platform to promote food and craft products from MSMEs in Padang Pariaman, with the hope of increasing sales and product competitiveness. Currently, the majority of sales of food products are still done traditionally or manually, although some food products have started to use social media as a promotional medium. Meanwhile, sales of handicraft products are generally still carried out traditionally and are not yet widely known. In fact, the rapid advances in information and communication technology currently provide great opportunities for the spread of food and craft products to be known globally. This research uses the Research and Development (RnD) method with the Define, Design, Develop, and Decemination development model, which aims to produce effective and efficient solutions. The research results show that the use of the OpenCart application as a web-based promotional media is proven to be valid, practical, effective and efficient, and is able to have a positive impact on increasing product visibility and competitiveness. The results of this research show that OpenCart can be used as a strategic platform to promote MSME food and craft products, with the aim of increasing competitiveness and wider market access for local products in Padang Pariaman. Thus, it is hoped that e-commerce can support the development of MSMEs and improve the regional economy.

Abstract

Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) play a crucial role in the local economy, including in the Solok region. However, challenges such as limited market access, low adoption of digital technology, poor digital literacy, and resource constraints often hinder their progress. This study aims to empower local MSMEs in Solok by creating an E-commerce system based on OpenCart. This initiative will enhance sales, expand market reach, and promote digital inclusion in the industry. Using a qualitative approach, this research employs a research and development (R&D) methodology, implemented through the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). During the analysis phase, data were collected through in-depth interviews with MSME actors, observing business processes, and reviewing literature on E-commerce technology. The analysis identified key needs, including ease of use, catalog availability, secure online payment methods, shipment tracking, and systematic sales reporting. The E-commerce system is built using the OpenCart platform, known for its exceptional flexibility and various built-in features that integrate with third-party services. Expected benefits include increased market reach, enhanced competitiveness of local products in the digital market, and higher MSME revenues. By implementing promotional features and discounts, the system allows customers to interact directly with sellers and facilitates online collaboration among businesses, leading to more effective marketing. Thus, this research supports the digital transformation of MSMEs, particularly in Solok, addressing challenges in the digital era.

Abstract

The development of an OpenCart-based e-commerce system is a strategic step in supporting the growth of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in West Sumatra. Business sectors such as the manufacture of sanjai crackers and handicrafts are examples of areas that can utilise this platform to improve competitiveness and expand market reach. Business digitalisation through e-commerce allows businesses to more easily promote their products, reach consumers in various regions, and improve operational efficiency. This research aims to analyse the implementation of OpenCart in improving the accessibility and marketing of MSME products. The research method used is a case study with a qualitative approach and Research and Development (RND). Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews with MSME owners as well as secondary data analysis from various related reports. This approach allows the research to gain an in-depth understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by MSME players in adopting digital technology. The results show that the use of OpenCart can significantly increase product visibility, expand market reach, and simplify the transaction process. With this e-commerce system, MSME players can manage their online stores more efficiently, manage product catalogues, and optimise digital marketing strategies. In addition, training in the use of e-commerce platforms has proven to be very important so that MSME players can make optimal use of technology. In conclusion, the development of an OpenCart-based e-commerce system can be an effective solution in supporting the growth of MSMEs in West Sumatra. With proper implementation, this platform can help improve the competitiveness of local products in the digital market, both at the national and international levels. The adoption of digital technology in MSME businesses also has the potential to accelerate digital-based economic transformation and create new opportunities for small businesses to be more competitive in the era of globalisation.

Abstract

The advancement of information technology has had a significant impact on the world of trade, including in the marketing of local products. One form of applying technology in this sector is e-commerce websites, which enable online transactions. This research and development (R&D) aims to design an OpenCart- based e-commerce website that can be used by the community in Pesisir Selatan District to market local handicrafts online. The method used in this research is R&D with a prototyping approach, which includes needs analysis, user interface design, system development, and testing and evaluation of the developed website. The designed website provides features such as a product catalog, shopping cart, payment system, and shipping options, which aim to facilitate transactions between sellers and buyers. The result of this R&D is an effective e-commerce website that supports online transactions of handicraft products, increases the accessibility of handicraft products to consumers outside of Pesisir Selatan District. With this system in place, it is expected to increase sales and help handicraft entrepreneurs expand their market.
