Abstract

Exploitation does not completely environmentally principles, ecosystems store biodiversity, including dangerous zoonotic viruses. The emergence of the Covid-19 pandemic is believed to be zoonotic that spreads infecting a hundred million people. This study was conducted to analyse the relationship between pandemic and exploitation, using a literature review of articles, documents, reports, papers, WHO information, and the Indonesian Covid-19 Task Force. There is a proven connection between the Covid-19 pandemic and the exploitation of nature. It narrows or even eliminates habitats and suppresses their lives, organisms respond by the expansion that is often closer to humans. Exploitation facilitates organisms as natural or intermediate hosts that have the potential zoonosis. Homologous analysis result of SARS-CoV-2 had a complete genome similarity of 93.7%, ORF1ab 96.5%, N protein 96.9%, and spike protein 92.86% with bat-coronavirus (Rhinolophus affinis Horsfield, 1823). This species, spread in South and Southeast Asia, to be a traditional medicine for respiratory. Wildlife animals as medicine should be limited, especially protected animals because trade with risky for zoonoses and potential of epidemics and pandemics. It can be overcome if ecosystem stability and provide proportional living space for other organisms, so that harmonious and sustainable interactions come true.

Abstract

Participation in maintaining the environment can be influenced by the attitude, because it has will elicit a response to act. The purpose of this study was to obtain empirical data regarding the relationship between environmental care attitudes and participation in preserving the environment for traders at Kali Baru Cilincing Market, North Jakarta. The method used was a simple regression method with a quantitative approach. This research was conducted on 72 traders. The results show that simple linear regression Ŷ=0,439+0,787X. Regression significance test obtained Fcount 39,964 > Ftable 3,98, this indicates the regression model was significant. In the linearity test, Fcount 0,638 < Ftable 1,775, thus the regression was linear. Furthermore, the product moment correlation test obtained rcount 0,576 > rtable 0,231, so there was a positive relationship. The significance test of the relationship was obtained tcount 7,201 > ttable 1,994, meaning that the relationship between Environmental Care Attitude (X) and Participation in Preserving the Environment (Y) was significant. The correlation coefficient of 0,576. The coefficient of determination of 0,331 means that the X variable contributes to the Y variable by 33,1%. Based on this research, there was a positive relationship between environmental care attitudes and participation in preserving the environment.

Abstract

The research aimed to determine the vulnerability level of the Cikeas watershed in terms of socio-economic and institutional aspects. The primary data collection method used purposive and snowball sampling. Secondary data were obtained from the Environmental Agency (DLH), Ciliwung Cisadane River Basin Center (BBWS) and Central Statistics Agency (BPS). Data analysis used quantitative descriptive analysis based on the formulation of watershed level characterization system. The vulnerability level of the Cikeas watershed in social aspects (population density and traditional values) was very high (very vulnerable). Conservation behaviour was classified as not vulnerable and somewhat vulnerable. On the economic aspect, most sub-districts in the Cikeas watershed were classified as somewhat vulnerable. The dominant economic sector was in the form of services. In terms of the institutional aspect, it was classified as not vulnerable and somewhat vulnerable because there were formal and informal institutions that have played an active role in the Cikeas watershed conservation activities. Watershed problems were related to the community's concern for environmental management. Thus, the involvement of the community and other relevant stakeholders in the planning, formulation, implementation of watershed policies was indispensable to achieve sustainable watershed management.

Abstract

The mangrove ecosystem area of Teluk Awur, Jepara is a mangrove replant (MR) area. Compared to several other research sites in Indonesia, the Teluk Awur area has a relatively high shrimp biodiversity. Higher shrimp biodiversity was found in the mangrove replant (MR) area which had an older age. Shrimp biodiversity in Teluk Awur consists of 11 species of shrimp (crustacean, sub order Natantia) from 4 families: Alpheidae, Penaeidae, Mysidae and Palaemonidae. Shrimp biodiversity in other areas consists of 4-12 species from 2-4 families. It can be concluded that ecosystem restoration through mangrove replanting can restore the function of the mangrove ecosystem and provide living niches for organisms.

Abstract

Thousand Islands is one of the districts in Jakarta Capital Special Region, Indonesia. Thousand Islands has a different waste management to those on land, because the waste must be shipped by sea. The purpose of this study was to determine the management model and supply chain of waste in Thousand Islands by: (1) Analyzing the condition of waste in Thousand Islands during the Covid-19 pandemic, (2) Analyzing the waste supply chain in Thousand Islands during the Covid-19 pandemic, (3) Analyzing models and strategies for effective waste management and processing in Thousand Islands. The method used was descriptive analysis method, supply chain analysis method, and SWOT analysis method. The results of this study indicate that Thousand Islands already has good waste management which is indicated by the existence of various written policies and regulations from the government for waste management. However, there are several obstacles such as the limited amount of transportation to send waste and weather factors that sometimes hinder the delivery of waste to Bantar Gebang. The results of the SWOT analysis show that the condition of waste management in Thousand Islands is in quadrant I, its means the management supports an aggressive strategy.
