Abstract

in this research we examine aspects of the interdependence between economic development and the use of environmental and natural resources assets from global data published by united nations. for that purpose, we use data mining techniques.data mining techniques applied in this paper were: 1) group method of data handling (gmdh), originally from engineering, introducing principles of evolution - inheritance, mutation and selection - for generating a network structure systematically to develop the automatic model, synthesis, and its validation; 2) step wise regression were also applied for some cases.data sets for this research consist of one sets integration data of air quality data and macroeconomic data of the cross-country data of world development indicator 2003 (wdi 2003). the result shows that the mortality rate of children under five years old is dependent on sanitation and water facilities obtained from gmdh results. however, the results from step-wise regression shows that mortality rate was dependent on annual deforestation, particulate matter, nationally protected area, with the big contribution was from annual deforestation.

Abstract

With global awareness of environmental risk and the pressing needs to improve efficiency, manufacturing systems are growing into new concept. Green manufacturing is reflected to employ various green strategies and technique to produce with eco-efficient. Green manufacturing aspects on the machine level were studied in various machining process. On this paper presentsthe green manufacturing review of Rapid Prototyping process. The objective is to evaluate the factors involved in green process of RP.Several comparative RP process respect to green manufacturing criteria are described.Rapid Prototyping process uses three dimensional CAD files to fabricate a physical model. Models are usually made from variety of material such as ABS, rubber and specific metals. Each material has the environment impact during the process and recycling.RP process are known as process not suitable for making direct product. However, lates technology makes it suitableto produce the parts with reasonable cost. For near the future, the utilization of this technology is becoming increasing and green manufacturing effect should be considered.Based on study conducted, several type of RP process is eco-efficient due to amount of waste material produced and environment impact during the process.

Abstract

The basic definitions of fuzzy independent set, fuzzy dominating set,and fuzzy independent dominating sets are discussed. The aim of this paper is to find on what conditions the fuzzy graph has equal domination number and independent domination number. It is discussed briefly and also when the fuzzy graph is domination perfect is proved. Finally, the independent domination number for a connected fuzzy graph is obtained.

Abstract

This research aims at determining the behaviour of structural elements of precast reinforced concrete beams which are connected with wet and dry connections. Specimen used was 30 Mpa reinforced concrete beams with 6 pieces of 8 mm diameter main reinforcement which are placed on two rollers at the joint pedestal of each end and has a rectangular cross section of prismatic 10x18 cm2. Wet connection is a connection that uses a polymer concrete material of 40 MPa with a grafting method using prepacked method. The result of the research is expected to contribute to the development of precast concrete in building construction in Indonesia. In the elastic condition, the beam monolith has the largest natural frequency of the value, but a wet connection beam has a low natural frequency value. The difference of this natural frequency value is also equal to the condition of crack and ultimate.

Abstract

The present paper reviews the development of zinc-air battery. Due to its high energy density advantage, the electrochemical system has been extensively studied and developed. However, major problems associated with the electrochemical system remain a formidable challenge, the utmost being to develop an electrically rechargeable zinc-air battery. Efforts made to overcome or mitigate the limitations concerned can be conceptually classified either as solving problems or seeking solutions. The changing paradigm from the electrically rechargeable system to the mechanically rechargeable system is illustrated as an example. Emerging innovations in smart active labels - flat, flexible and functional devices, particularly in healthcare industry, instigated the authors to develop zinc-air battery as a prospective micro-power source for smart active labels. The thin battery technology developed, in collaboration between IIUM and BPPT, is of low cost, comprises of green electro active materials, and able to operate in quasi-neutral electrolyte. These features fulfil the criteria for the battery to be incorporated into disposable smart active labels.
