Rekayasa Mekanika is scientific journal on mechanical sciences and engineering field, either pure or inter disciplinary works. This journal is a continuation of Rekayasa Mekanik which changed its name since April 2022. This journal publishes 6 articles for each issue, April and October. Starting April 2025, this journal publishes 10 articles. Authors are cordially invited to submit his/her research, review or monograph papers in English or Indonesian.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to develop a model of automatic home garage door using RFID sensor. Here, mechanical and control systems were designed. Mechanical systems were used 12V DC motors. Whereas, automatic control systems were carried out using PLC and Arduino UNO microcontrollers. Therefore, the desired speed and time can be controlled. Automatic garage doors worked with a drive system that is the influence of the distance to the distance and time generated during opening and vertical automatic doors. Theresult showed that automatic home garage door has been successfully developed.

Abstract

Kevlar fibers have several advantages compared to other synthetic fibers, such as high tensile strength and relatively low density because it is composed of hydrogen bonds. This study aims to compare the mechanical strength of Kevlar fiber reinforced composites before and after immersion in a seawater environment as raw material for amphibious aircraft float materials. The materials used in this research consist of kevlar fiber, vinylester resin and methyl ethyl ketone peroxide catalyst. Composites manufactured by the vacuum infusion technique. The fibers were arranged in a mold, then a vacuum process was carried out to attract the resin stream. Tensile and shear tests were carried out before and after immersing the composites in a sea water environment at room temperature for 264 hours. Tensile test specimens refer to the ASTM standard of D3039, while the shear test specimens refer to the ASTM standard of D5379. The tensile strength of the kevlar fiber reinforced composites before immersion is 421.2 MPa. After immersion in a seawater environment, the tensile strength of the composite decreased to 389.3 MPa or decreased by 7.5%. Meanwhile, the shear strength of Kevlar fiber reinforced composites after immersing in a sea water environment did not change significantly from 14.6 MPa to 14.46 MPa or a decrease of 1.6%.

Abstract

Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) adalah sebuah alat pengukur multi fungsi dengan kamampuan kecepatan mengukur yang tinggi dan mampu menghasilkan nilai akurasi pengukuran dan efisiensi pengukuran yang tinggi. Pada pengoperasiannya alat ini membutuhkan operator yang memiliki keterampilan khusus dalam menjalankannya.Hal ini dikarenkan dalam pengoperasian Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) operator harus membuat program pengukuran terlebih dahulu agar alat dalam digunakan untuk mengukur benda kerja yang diinginkan. Pada pengujiankali ini dilakukan pengoperasian Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) serta pembuatan program pengukuran Benda kerja Baja S45-C dengan ukuran diameter dimensi atas 159.76 mm dengan arah ukur CW, dan diameter dimensi bawah 169,76 mm dengan arah ukur CCW, yang mana pada tiap dimensi dilakukan pengukuran berulang sebanyak 5 kali pengukuran dengan tiap sekali pengukuran dilakukan sebanyak 128 titik sampel ukur. Dari hasil pengoperasian yang telah dilakukan didapatkancara mengoperasikan mesin CMM dari awal dihidupkan hinggaselesai pengoperasian. Dan dari hasil pengukuran program yang telah dibuat didapat nilai error benda kerja Baja S45-5 pada diameter atas 159,79 dengan arah probe CW untuk tiap sekali pengukuran dilakukan sebanyak 128 titik ukur sebagai sampel ukur didapatkan nilai error secara berurutan yaitu 0,1933 mm, 0,1936 mm, 0,1933 mm, 0,1940 mm, dan 0,1939 mm. Pada diameter bawah 169,76 dengan arah probe CCW untuk tiap sekali pengukuran dilakukan sebanyak 128 titik ukur sebagai sampel ukur didapatkan nilai error secara berurutan yaitu 0,1606 mm, 0,1608 mm, 0,1606 mm, 0,1612 mm, dan 0,1608 mm.

Abstract

Pompa hidram adalah salah satu jenis pompa yang energi atau tenaga penggeraknya berasal dari tekanan atau hantaman air yang masuk ke dalam pompa melalui pipa. Masuknya air yang berasal dari berbagai sumber air ke dalam pompa harus berjalan secara kontinyu. Pompa hidram memiliki banyak keuntungan dibandingkanpenggunaan jenis pompa air lainnya, diantaranya tidak membutuhkan pelumasan, bentuknya sangat sederhana, pembuatan dan pemeliharaanya lebih murah. Selain itu pompa ini mampu bekerja 24 jam per hari. Beberapa hal yang dapat mempengaruhi efisiensi pompa hidram ini, seperti tinggi masukan air, jarak katup buang limbah, dandiamater volume tabung. Pada penelitian ini diameter pipa yang digunakan adalah pipa diameter 2,5 inch, 3 inch, dan 4 inch dengan variasi volume tabung 0,0006 m3, 0,0013 m3, 0,0027 m3, dan 0,0040 m, pada jarak katup buang limbah divariasikan 50 mm, 75 mm, dan 100 mm, sedangkan tinggi masukan 1 meter. Dari hasilpengujian dan data hasil perhitungan didapat efisiensi maksimum 82,50% pada volume tabung 0,0027 m diameter pipa 4 inch, tinggi masukan air 1 meter, dan jarak katup buang 75 mm, sedangkan efisiensi terendah didapat pada volume tabung 0,0040 m3 diamater pipa 4 inch, pada jarak katup buang limbah 50 mm, dan tinggimasukan air 1 meter dengan nilai efisiensi 60,00%.

Abstract

In this study, a heat exchanger will be designed with the principle of tube-pond, normal water flowing tubes and hot water-filled ponds. This study aims to determine the heat transfer characteristics of glass pipe, copper, and resin coated copper.The materials used in the tube were glass, copper, and resin coated copper, polyester resin of yukalac BTQN 157 and a catalyst of methyl ethyl ketone peroxide. In the test, the water temperature variation in ponds was 70?C, 80?C, and 90?C. At each temperature, the test was carried out by flowing normal water into the tube by varying the discharge by 1lpm, 0.8lpm, 0.6lpm, 0.4lpm, and 0.2lpm. The values for the temperature in and out of the water in the tube are obtained. So that the overall heat transfer coefficient value and its effectiveness can be calculated.The results showed that the higher the discharge, the overall heat transfer coefficient on the tube increased. where the highest value is in the copper tube meterial at 1 lpm discharge, which is at 80?C pond temperature of 1544.163 W / m2?C. While the smallest value of the overall heat transfer coefficient is the glassmaterial at the time of discharge 0.2 lpm, which is at a temperature of 90?C of 199.5889 W / m2?C

Abstract

PT. Pertamina (Persero) Refinery Unit III (RU III) is one of the Refinery Unit Pertamina that it main activity is process crude oil and intermediate product (Alkylfeed, HSDC,slop oil, LOMC, Long residue, Raw PP) into finished product. One of the important tools is Centrifugal Compressor (CENTAX CC 700 MX 3HP). The problem in the compressor is temperature of the fluida is increase but it pressure is decrease.To solve this problem, sandblasting and coating is used in inspection stage. The result from the inspection was compressor had a leak because the O ring was not functioning optimally and the surface was eroded To overcome this matter, coating is done to prevent the compressor surface from corrosion and replacing the O ring according to size.
