Abstract

Background: Elderly Patients which  chronic Kidney Diseases on Haemodialysis (HD) experience impaired muscle strength related quality of life (QoL). We analysed HD  relationship with physical performance, body composition, and muscle strength; Purpose: To asses QoL in muscle-skeletal health and functional Capacity on elderly Chronic Kidney Diseases maintenance Haemodialysis. Methods: Using systematic literature review with data base EBSCO, ELSIVIER, Pup Med, Science Direct, Walley, start search year 2020-2023, 13 articles Randomize control trial and cross sectional. Groups underwent the following assessments physical QoL using application of the SF-36 questionnaire , and the Euro QoL five item psychologic-questionnaire (EQ-5D) are two of the most popular.  Observed 6-minute walk test (6MWT) and handgrip strength, one-repetition maximum of knee flexors and extensors. Result: Main approaches, namely generic and disease-specific instruments, can be applied to measure health-related quality of life, the short form 36 questionnaire (SF-36) and the Euro QoL five item questionnaire (EQ-5D) are two of the most popular. One of the main goals of any interventions to prevent and cure musculoskeletal problems in the ageing population with should be to improve quality of life. Conclusion: To measure health-related quality of life, two basic methods can be used: The EQ-5D and the short form 36 questionnaire. Overview surveys are used to measure the quality of life related to health in individuals suffering from musculoskeletal illnesses. The validation of therapeutic and preventive interventions in this field should be aided by the recent development of specific instruments.

Abstract

When the learning outcomes of students are low, then often one of the reasons for the cause is the teacher who does not apply monotonous learning methods that cause a lack of interest in learning, and low motivation, some of them are also only able to understand if the teacher or lesson is favored. Activities after school are not for resting but playing gadgets or with friends. The research design used in this study is Pre-Experiment with the design used is One Group Pre and Post Test desaign. The population in this study were all 6th grade students of 86 Kendari State Elementary School as many as 68 respondents with purposive sampling technique. The results of the statistical test show that the results of the statistical test of the Mean value of the pre-test 4.00 and post-test 7.72 with SD value of pre-test 1.495 and post-test 2.081 with a significant 0.000 <0.02. The results of the analysis of the table above also obtained the value of t = 7.298> 2.567 where t count is greater than the t table value. This shows that there is an effect of brain gym on improving memory in grade VI children at public elementary school 86 Kendari. From the results of this study, it was found that there was an effect of brain gym on improving memory in grade VI children in public elementary school 86 Kendari. Suggestions for teaching staff at Kendari 86 State Elementary School to apply Brain Gym in classroom learning can be done before learning takes place or the introduction stage, during the learning process or the core activity stage, and after learning is given or the closing stage.

Abstract

Background: Tuberculosis (TB) is a leading global cause of death, surpassing HIV before the COVID-19 pandemic (WHO, 2022). In 2022, TB claimed 1.3 million lives globally, with Indonesia ranking second in pulmonary TB cases after India and ahead of China. WHO estimated 10.6 million new TB cases in 2022, marking a 0.3 million increase from the previous year. Without proper treatment, TB's mortality rate reaches 50% within the first year (WHO, 2023). The increasing TB burden reflects failures in control efforts, attributed to organizational shortcomings, limited community access to diagnosis and treatment, inconsistent case identification and diagnosis, inadequate drug supply guarantees, and non-standardized TB reporting, supervision, and monitoring practices. Purpose: The objective of this study is to estimate tuberculosis (TB) notifications using the capture-recapture analysis method. Methods: This study employs capture-recapture analysis as its methodology. Results: Patient records from both healthcare facilities initially showed 93 confirmed TB cases. Following detailed matching of multiple identifiers such as name, age, date of birth, place of birth, address, and National Identity Number (NIK), it was found that six patients were diagnosed at both institutions, indicating data redundancy. To refine these findings and address potential under-reporting, capture-recapture analysis estimated 320 TB cases in the population, significantly higher than reported in the Integrated Tuberculosis Information System (SITT), revealing a 25.98% discrepancy. Conclusions: Capture-recapture analysis in this study offers deeper insights into Semarang City's TB burden and prompts systemic improvements in case recording and management. By identifying reporting discrepancies and advocating for enhanced surveillance, this research supports more effective public health interventions, promising better health outcomes and a clearer understanding of TB's urban impact. This underscores the importance of collaborative efforts and a multifaceted approach integrating advanced statistical techniques and policy reforms to address this critical public health challenge.

Abstract

Background: Hypertension is a condition where blood pressure exceeds normal limits, namely systolic blood pressure ≥ 140 mmHg and/or diastolic blood pressure ≥ 90 mmHg on repeated examinations. Hypertension, commonly known as high blood pressure, is caused by abnormalities in the blood arteries, preventing oxygen and nutrients from reaching the body's tissues. As an alternative treatment, the combination of Benson relaxation therapy and lavender aromatherapy has similarities in the mechanism of action, as seen in how the Benson relaxation technique works, namely focusing on specific words or sentences that are repeated repeatedly with a regular rhythm accompanied by an attitude of surrender to God Almighty while drawing deep breaths. While lavender aromatherapy works on both the physical and emotional levels, it can also help to lower anxiety, high blood pressure, heart rate, and stress. Lavender also stimulates the production of the hormones melatonin and serotonin. Aromatherapy can be used in a variety of methods, such as steam, inhalation, and compresses. Purpose : the aim of this study was to determine whether there is a combination effect of Benson relaxation therapy and lavender aromatherapy on reducing blood pressure in elderly hypertension at Madurejo Public Health Center in Pangkalan Bun. Methods: This type of quasi-experimental research used a one-group pre-test and post-test design with a sample of 30 respondents and purposive sampling. Blood pressure measurement using a tensimeter and an observation sheet using the Wilcoxon test. Results: The results showed that the blood pressure of hypertension sufferers pre-tested in category 1 was mild at 33.3%, moderate at 56.7%, and severe at 10.0%. The results of the level of type 2 diabetes mellitus post-test were in the good category (83.7%) and sufficient (16.3%). The Wilcoxon test results obtained a p value of 0.000. Conclusion: There is an effect of a combination of Benson relaxation therapy and lavender aromatherapy on reducing blood pressure in elderly hypertension at Madurejo Public Health Center, Pangkalan Bun, Central Kalimantan.

Abstract

Background: Temper tantrums are a behavior that often occurs in preschool children. This behavior is characterized by excessive emotional expression and uncontrolled behavior, arising from the children’s frustration and anger. Purpose: To identify whether there is a relationship between parenting and parental communication with temper tantrums in preschool children. Methods: The research design used in this study is cross sectional. This research was conducted in year of 2023 with a total of 65 respondents using a total sample technique. The instruments in this study were questionnaires on parenting, parental communication, and temper tantrums which were adopted from previous research and had been tested for validity and reality. The data analysis used was the Spearman correlation test because the data was not normally distributed. Results: The results of this study showed that there is no significant relationship between parenting and parental communication with temper tantrums in preschool children. Conclusions: The important role of parents in providing good parenting in shaping preschool children's behavior. The better the parenting and parental communication, the better the handling of temper tantrums in preschool children. It is recommended for future researchers to add variables of emotional intelligence and mother's level of knowledge regarding temper tantrums in preschool children.
