Abstract

Village development does not only focus on improving the welfare and quality of life of the community, but also on sustainable use and management of the environment. Creating a clean environment is the obligation of various parties. However, the problem of environmental cleanliness is still an obstacle, which is caused by a lack of public awareness about clean and healthy living behavior, one of which is throwing rubbish carelessly. Littering can reduce environmental quality and cause serious problems if not addressed. Bangelan Village has natural tourism potential that requires maintenance to maintain the beauty of this tourism. One strategy for maintaining the beauty of tourism is to accustom people to clean and healthy living habits, especially through getting village children accustomed to throwing away rubbish and sorting it according to type. This habit is expected to be a form of strategy for character education, awareness and the ability to be more sensitive to the surrounding environment, especially for students at SD Negeri 3 Bangelan. Students who previously only threw rubbish carelessly are expected to become more sensitive to their environment and utilize rubbish into useful items. The aim of this training is to increase the awareness of the Bangelan Village community about clean and healthy living behavior, with a focus on forming a Little Environmental Cadre through training in 3R waste sorting and organic waste processing.

Abstract

Community service is one of the activities carried out by the academic community to promote the welfare of society and to enlighten the nation. This service aims to increase awareness and sustainable practices in the management of domestic organic waste, particularly rice washing water, resulting in Organic Liquid Fertilizer (OLF). Through socialization and demonstration programs, the community is encouraged to transform waste into valuable resources such as OLF. Initial surveys showed a low level of public knowledge about the benefits of OLF. The survey results indicated that 6% of households had already processed rice washing water, while 96% had not. Following the program, there was a significant increase in the community's understanding of the OLF production process, its nutritional content, and its positive impact on plant growth. Additionally, this program contributed to the reduction of randomly discarded organic waste, thereby positively affecting the surrounding environment. The research findings show that intensive and participatory socialization is the key to successful behavior change towards more sustainable agricultural practices

Abstract

Household waste consists of various types, one of which is rice washing water. Rice washing water has many benefits that can be used for everyday life. The community of RT 02 RW 03 Ngadilangkung Village, Kepanjen District, Malang Regency is a community that has processed household waste between organic and inorganic waste which is supported by the Government's Berseri Program. Based on the results of a primary survey conducted using interviews and observations, people have processed household waste but have not processed rice washing waste water. This is because the waste water from washing rice is only used to water plants or is even thrown away directly. In fact, rice washing wastewater has the potential to be used for daily life such as liquid organic fertilizer, body care, natural cleaning of household furniture, livestock activities, and so on. Therefore, outreach was carried out to the people of Ngadilangkung Village to find out the potential of rice washing wastewater. Many people took part in the socialization and the people were quite active during the question and answer session. The results showed that as many as 20% of the people of RT 02 had used runoff water. So, it is hoped that the people of RT 02 RW 03 Ngadilangkung Village can create a sustainable environment by using rice washing waste water in their daily lives as an effort to reduce household waste.

Abstract

Solar Power Plants (PLTS) have several advantages, including being environmentally friendly because they do not produce greenhouse gas emissions, saving operational costs in the long term, and being an abundant and renewable energy source. PLTS is very suitable for areas that get a lot of sunlight, such as tropical countries including Indonesia. The implementation of alternatives to reduce dependence on fossil energy is carried out with the activity theme "Application of PLTS Technology". This alternative is implemented in the form of community service in RW-23 Purwantoro Village, Blimbing District, Malang City. This activity ran for 6 months, thus turning RW-23 into a green, beautiful, cool and environmentally friendly conservation area. The activity carried out is the Implementation of PLTS in the context of Energy Conservation and Utilization of Renewable Energy. RW-23 administrators and local residents are generally quite appreciative of the idea of "PLTS" to reduce dependence on fossil energy, environmental conservation and energy security in the RW-23 environment, thereby providing a positive impact, namely a clean, comfortable and sustainable environment. It is necessary to think about a cheaper "PLTS" design so that this idea will attract the attention and interest of RW administrators and other residents to be able to implement it in their own home environment on the basis of their own financing.

Abstract

Health facilities in Nganjuk Regency, East Java, especially in Ngronggot Village, remain limited. These facilities serve  multiple villages and are located far from residential areas, making access challenging for the residents of Ngronggot Village. Consequently, villagers often resort to herbal remedies for treating and preventing illnesses instead of visiting health centers or using chemical-based drugs. Recognizing this issue, a private entrepreneur who owns a farm in the area donated a 500-square-meter plot of land to establish a simple clinic integrated with a medicinal plant garden. To implement this initiative, a collaboration was formed involving architecture lecturers from FTUB, tasked with designing the clinic and garden; chemical engineering lecturers from FTUB, experienced in environmental science and TOGA garden development; and pharmacy students from FKUB alongside young doctors from Airlangga University. These professionals and students will educate the community and local health teams on the benefits and uses of medicinal plants. Additionally, the HERBAKU application will be developed as an integrated Health Information System to streamline access to health services for both healthcare workers and villagers. This collaborative effort bridges academia and industry, with support from the entrepreneur who donated the land, academics from Brawijaya University, and DUDI (farm entrepeneur). Together, they aim to improve public health in Ngronggot Village by enhancing healthcare accessibility and empowering the community with knowledge about medicinal plants and integrated health services. This initiative represents a significant step towards addressing healthcare disparities in rural East Java.

This business provides affordable washing and ironing services compared to existing laundry services while maintaining high-quality standards. With the slogan, "Making your life easier," Green Laundry consistently strives to deliver the best services to meet customer needs. Since its establishment, this business has contributed to providing job opportunities, especially for underprivileged women and widows who urgently need work to support their families. Thus, this business is not solely profit-oriented but also carries a social mission. To accommodate this purpose, Green Laundry is required to improve its productivity to enable the hiring of more workers. Therefore, innovation in service improvement is necessary. One of the initiatives to be implemented is introducing a Full Delivery Service to facilitate customer access to Green Laundry’s services. To support the implementation of the Full Delivery Service, the PKM team has provided a motorized cart to function as a mobile booth. This motorized cart serves as a means of collecting laundry from customers in a scheduled and rotational manner across various residential areas and villages. This approach has successfully increased Green Laundry's productivity, evidenced by the growth in transaction numbers, total laundry weight processed, and revenue. In the future, this initiative is expected to create additional job opportunities for those in need.

Abstract

Universities in Indonesia continue to improve the quality of education, including in terms of curriculum and accreditation in accordance with regulations issued by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (KEMENDIKBUDRISTEK). The OBE (Outcomes-Based Education) curriculum and Engineering Self-Accreditation Agency (LAM) accreditation are two important pillars in achieving this goal. However, a deep understanding of these two pillars is still not comprehensive. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out community service activities in the form of training for lecturers on the OBE Curriculum and Engineering LAM so that they can apply it in the learning process and prepare to obtain Engineering LAM Accreditation. This community service activity will be carried out in 3 Training of Trainer (ToT) series. The first series is about the introduction of accreditation and OBE curriculum. The second series is about the preparation and planning of curriculum implementation and evaluation. The third series is the preparation of LED and LKPS in national accreditation, as well as deeper knowledge about basic science and math and capstone design. This community service activity is expected to achieve several goals, namely increasing lecturers' understanding of the OBE Curriculum and LAM Engineering. In addition, this activity can also improve the ability of lecturers to apply the OBE Curriculum in the learning process and prepare to obtain Engineering LAM Accreditation. In general, this activity can improve the quality of education in order to become a superior university and produce quality graduates.

Abstract

Kampoeng Heritage Kayutangan is a flagship thematic tourism village in Malang City, rich with distinctive colonial architecture and a collection of vintage objects of high historical value. However, increased tourism activity in the area poses a major challenge in preserving the historical and environmental values of the settlement. Threats to the authenticity of historic architecture and the integrity of local culture within Kampoeng Heritage Kayutangan are crucial issues that require special attention. Therefore, technology-based preservation efforts can be one of the important preservation methods. This method integrates aspects of preservation with tourism development. The purpose of this community service activity (PKM) is to identify, document, and digitally map the historical buildings of Kampoeng Heritage Kayutangan. Digital building data collection applies 360 camera technology and 3D modeling. This digital mapping can provide accurate data that can be used by the government and other stakeholders in designing preservation policies. This mapping can also improve the tourism information system that supports the sustainable management of this village. The results of this PKM are expected to be able to make a real contribution to the development of Kampoeng Heritage Kayutangan as a sustainable heritage tourism destination and strengthen collaboration between the local community and the government in preserving the culture of the area. Through this approach, it is hoped that this PKM activity can make a real contribution to the preservation and promotion of Kampoeng Heritage Kayutangan as a tourist destination that combines aspects of cultural preservation with tourism-based economic development.
