Abstract

This research aims to design and develop a web-based student grading information system using the Laravel framework within Piksi Ganesha Polytechnic. The system is developed to facilitate lecturers in inputting student grades according to the deadlines set by the academic department. The development method applied is the Waterfall model, which includes the stages of requirements analysis, system design, implementation, testing, and maintenance. System testing was carried out using the black-box testing method to ensure that each feature functions as intended. The results showed that this system is capable of assisting lecturers in assessing students in a more structured and timely manner. The main features developed include grade input, input deadline settings, automatic notifications when only three days remain, forms that are automatically disabled once the deadline passes, and a progress bar to help lecturers monitor grade input completion for each class. Based on the trial results, the system received positive responses from users as it enhances efficiency and discipline in the grading process. The implementation of this grading information system is expected to support academic management in a more effective, transparent, and accountable manner, as well as become a relevant technological innovation to promote digital transformation at Piksi Ganesha Polytechnic, thereby improving the quality of integrated and sustainable academic services.

Abstract

In this study, we present a novel optimization technique, known as the Three-Group Exploration Strategy (TGES) algorithm, specifically inspired by collaborative group dynamics often seen in problem-solving. We showed wide testing on 26 widely-recognized benchmark functions, providing a severe comparison between TGES and several well-established optimization algorithms. These results highlight TGES’s effectiveness in finding optimal solutions with high reliability and accuracy. Furthermore, the practical applications of TGES are demonstrated by successfully solving six interesting, real-world engineering problems, showcasing its adaptability and robustness. The experimental results indicate that TGES not only exhibits superior optimization performance, but it also achieves faster convergence and higher solution quality compared to several leading algorithms. This finds TGES algorithm as a strong and adaptable tool for solving a variety of engineering optimization problems.

Abstract

The Digital Automatic Weather System (AWS) is a vital tool for real-time meteorological data collection, utilized by the Indonesian Agency for Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics (BMKG) to support weather monitoring activities. However, the effectiveness of this technology largely depends on its perceived usability among users. This study aims to evaluate the usability level of the Digital AWS implemented at BMKG Lampung Province by applying the System Usability Scale (SUS) method. Data were collected through SUS questionnaires completed by AWS users within the BMKG environment. The analysis revealed an average SUS score of 59.9, which falls into the Marginal Low category and below the industry standard benchmark of 68. These findings suggest that, although the Digital AWS is functional, several aspects require improvement, particularly in interaction simplicity, interface consistency, and usage efficiency. Recommendations are directed toward enhancing interface design, simplifying navigation, and providing user training to ensure that the Digital AWS can optimally support BMKG’s operational activities.

Abstract

The process of responding to cyber incidents requires professional skills and standardized methods. Incident responders often face challenges in determining who is responsible for addressing cybersecurity incidents. Consistence between incident response team members is crucial for two reasons: first, to eradicate and fix the incident effectively; second, to save time and effort. This paper proposes a model for distributing roles within an Incident Response (IR) team. Each member is assigned both basic and shared responsibilities to ensure comprehensive coverage. Three main roles are identified-Risk Analysis, Alerts and Warnings, and Security Consultant-which are designed as universal roles adaptable to teams of any size.

Abstract

TB Bangun Jaya is a building materials store that still manages manual stock recording and sales transactions, so there are often recording errors, delays in reporting, and difficulties in tracking goods data. This problem shows the need for an information system that is able to integrate stock management and payments efficiently and accurately. This research aims to design an integrated information system that can support the operational process of TB Bangun Jaya. The system development method with the waterfall model, and the data collection techniques used include observation, interviews, and literature studies, with a structured system development approach. The result of this study is a system design that includes context diagrams, DFD Level 0, DFD Level 1, ERD, which represent the process of managing data of goods, transactions, and reporting. This design is expected to be the initial solution in the digitization of store business processes. Further research is recommended to proceed to the stage of system implementation, functionality testing, and development of cloud-based features so that the system can be accessed online and in real-time.
