Abstract

Digital transformation has become a crucial factor for the sustainability of the global oil and gas industry; however, its adoption in the African region still faces various structural and competency challenges. This study aims to analyze the influence of Digital Literacy and Organizational Support on the Intention to Use Digital Technology among the workforce in the African oil and gas industry. Using a quantitative approach, data were collected through a survey of 250 professionals in the oil and gas sector across key countries such as Nigeria, Angola, and Egypt. Data analysis was performed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). The results indicate that both Digital Literacy and Organizational Support have a positive and significant influence on the intention to use digital technology. Digital literacy is proven to lower psychological and technical barriers to accepting innovation, while organizational support in the form of infrastructure provision and adaptive management policies acts as a catalyst that strengthens employee confidence. These findings confirm that to achieve successful digital transformation in Africa, companies must not only invest in hardware but also prioritize human capital development and create a work ecosystem that fosters innovation. This research provides managerial implications for energy industry leaders in Africa to formulate holistic digitalization strategies to enhance operational efficiency and global competitiveness.

Abstract

This research investigates the impact of digital transformation strategies on the operational performance of Cameroon’s domestic gas distribution sector. As digitalization reshapes data-driven industries, gas organizations in emerging markets face unique challenges in integrating advanced information systems. Utilizing a quantitative approach with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), this study analyzes how digital leadership, infrastructure readiness, and knowledge management influence distribution efficiency. The findings reveal that while technological adoption significantly reduces operational losses and enhances data accuracy, its success is heavily contingent on the holistic integration of human resources and financial management. Despite persistent infrastructural constraints in Cameroon, strategic digitalization provides a critical roadmap for operational resilience, ensuring more reliable energy delivery and improved safety standards across the national industrial landscape.

Abstract

This research investigates the operational resilience of smallholder palm oil supply chains across key West African producers, specifically Nigeria and Ghana. In the face of increasing market volatility and climate-related disruptions, understanding how small-scale farmers maintain supply continuity is essential for regional food security and economic stability. Utilizing a multi-country comparative framework, this study analyzes the integration of logistics, financial access, and collaborative networks as drivers of resilience. The findings indicate that while smallholders possess inherent adaptive strategies, institutional voids and fragmented digital infrastructure significantly hinder their scaling capabilities. By evaluating these operational dynamics, the research provides strategic recommendations for policy-makers and agribusiness leaders to strengthen the palm oil value chain through targeted technological interventions and inclusive managerial practices.
