Jurnal Studi Ilmu Alquran dan Tafsir ISSN 3089-7033 is a scientific journal published by Indonesian Journal Publisher. Jurnal Studi Ilmu Alquran dan Tafsir publishes four issues annually in the months of July, October, January, and April. This journal only accepts original scientific research works (not a review) that have not been published by other media. Jurnal Studi Ilmu Alquran dan Tafsir is a peer-reviewed journal dedicated to publishing the scholarly study of the Quran from many different perspectives. Particular attention is paid to the works dealing with: Quranic Studies, Quranic sciences, Living Quran, Quranic Studies across different areas in the world (The Middle East, The West, Archipelago and other areas), Methodology of Quran and Tafsir studies.

Abstract

This article examines the scholarly legacy of Rukn al-Din Ubayd Allah as-Samarqandi, a prominent scholar who lived and worked in the intellectual milieu of Transoxiana in the 7th/13th century. Special attention is given to his major work Jāmiʿ al-uṣūl fī bayān al-qawāʿid al-ḥanafiyya wa ash-shāfiʿiyya fī uṣūl al-fiqh, which systematically compares and organizes the methodological principles of the Hanafi and Shafi‘i schools. The study also considers his other works, including Talkhīṣ Jāmiʿ al-uṣūl, Risāla fī ḥurūf al-maʿānī, Mulakhkhaṣ min Sharḥ maʿānī al-āthār, Risāla fī al-qawāʿid al-fiqhiyya, Tafsīr gharāʾib maʿānī al-Qurʾān, and Iʿjāz al-Qurʾān. The analysis highlights their intellectual foundations, referencing influential scholars such as al-Pazdawī, as-Sarakhsī, al-Māturīdī, al-Jaṣṣāṣ, ad-Dabūsī, and al-Ghazālī, and notes the current locations of the manuscripts (Süleymaniye Library in Istanbul and Dār al-Kutub al-Miṣriyya in Cairo). The research underscores the concise, didactic, and comparative nature of Samarqandi’s works and their significance within the Māturīdī intellectual tradition.

Abstract

The mentioned article is devoted to the Islamic studies of Mahmud al-Zamakhshari and the analysis of his religious and scholarly works. The author of the article provides information about the works of al-Zamakhshari and classifies them according to their thematic fields. The article gives a detailed account of such prominent works as al-Kashshaf, Nukat al-iʿrab, Ruusul al-Masʾil, al-Faʾiq fī Gharib al-Ḥadith, Nawabigh al-Kalim, and Atwaquz zhab fī al-Mawaʿiẓ wa al-Khuṭab. Furthermore, the author provides detailed descriptions of these works and examines the manuscript copies preserved in various libraries of the world

Abstract

In this article, various commentaries written in different periods on the work Sunan at-Tirmidhi by the eminent hadith scholar Abu Isa Muhammad ibn Isa at-Tirmidhi are analyzed. Moreover, the study examines, on a scholarly basis, the earliest commentaries as well as later annotations and glosses authored by scholars belonging to the Hanafi school and other legal traditions. The research focuses on the distinctive features of these commentaries, their methodological aspects, and their contribution to the development of hadith studies. This work suffices to as an important source of gaining a deeper understanding of the scholarly heritage related to Sunan at-Tirmidhi, and exploring the interaction among various schools and approaches within the science of hadith
