Abstract

The journal that is called Jesus Christ: The Nexus of Heaven and Earth is designed to anster the questions who Jesus Christ really really is, how does Jesus Christ relates to the concept of Israel’s God, to the Christian faith and to the world? These questions are answered through the an indept exegesis of John 1:51 based on a descriptive approach of the whole Gospel. The statement that Jesus expresses to Nathanael is quoted from the story of Jacub and his dream at Bethel, in order to declare that He is the meeting point of heaven and earth. This statement relates to what John says about Jesus in verse 14, where Jesus is stated as God who incarnated Himself on earth, and to what Jesus Himslef says in chapter 2:19 that He is the true Temple of God. The Creator has become a man. The glory of God is manifested on earth through His presence. As the meeting point or the bridge of heaven and earth, for John, Jesus is the way out for humanity to reconnect with God, as their heavenly Father in order for them to inherite the life in its truest sense, which is the life with a high quality of meaning. The life that is free from punishment and the life that is everlasting produced by the Holy Spirit, the very presence of God in the lives of His children. This kind of life is manifested in the morality of the believers and in their missions to the world.

Abstract

The wholeness of the nature of God-Man in the Person of Jesus Christ the Lord. This thought is the subject of research to understand who Jesus is. The subject of this research arises because of the development of understanding or discussion both internally in STTIndonesia and in the organization of Baptist churches in Manado. The discussion that developed was about the actions and words of Jesus while He was on earth, say thirty-three years when He humbled Himself. (Phil 2: 6-7). The initial stage puts forward the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament is a book of God's people that outlines the framework of God's plan (Father, Son, and Holy Spirit), which foretells the coming of a release for God's people whose fulfillment to a new age. The New Testament tells of the fulfillment of the Old Testament only in Jesus Christ the Lord. In particular the four Gospels, four versions of the existence and ministry of Jesus on earth were emphasized. The next stage outlines aspects of Jesus 'deity and Jesus' humanity. This description is based on examining and exposing several passages from Paul's writings. Both of these nature are in the person of Jesus Christ the Lord. Both of these realms are intact in the sense of hypostatic union, wholeness that does not blend, mingle, merge, but still maintain each other's existence in the one person of Jesus Christ the Lord. The next stage outlines pre-existence, service, death-resurrection, and ascending to heaven surveyed in the book of John. The goal is on the basis of hypostatic union in the person of Jesus, then the entire scope of life, service, in deeds and words, all done in one person or person of Jesus Christ God. The deeds and words of Jesus did not occur or were done because of the nature or nature of his God or man, but all those actions in one person or person of Jesus Christ the Lord. So, those who teach, heal, make things spectacular, cry, thirsty, hungry, moved by compassion, even crucified, die-rise from the dead are the persons of the Lord Jesus Christ. John Stott, in The Authentic Jesus states that Chalcedonian Christology is the only perfect synthesis of biblical data. In fact, the expression of the two nature-essence in one Person is more than the synthesis of the New Testament; the phrase is the foundation of the New Testament documents (cf. Mk 13:32).

Abstract

Death is something that cannot be avoided by all living creatures and even humans. The meaning of the word "dead" in the Big Indonesian Dictionary is "has lost its life, is not alive anymore". In the sense that death is the end of life, the absence of life in biological organisms. All living things will eventually die, either due to natural causes such as illness or due to unnatural causes such as accidents. Thus death will be experienced by every person whether evil or good, poor or rich, believers or non-believers. The focus in this study is on parents' understanding at G.B Calvary Mogoyunggung about the death of believers based on 2 Corinthians 5: 1-10. The writing of this scientific work aims to find out the extent of the understanding of parents at G.B Calvary Mogoyunggung about the death of believers based on 2 Corinthians 5: 1-10. First, in theory the authors obtain and provide various data and information that can help the whole community, especially parents, in understanding and teaching the correct understanding of the death of believers based on 2 Corinthians 5: 1-10. Second, practically this research can provide a true understanding based on the Bible for all readers more specifically parents in their ministry and duty as parents to have a correct understanding of the death of believers in Mogoyunggung Village based on 2 Corinthians 5: 1-10. The research method is a qualitative method, which will be carried out at the Density of the Calvary Baptist Church in Mogoyunggung village, Dumoga Timur District, Bolaang Mongondow district. In the research effort the researcher asked for permission to introduce researchers from the Indonesian Institute of Theology (STTI) Manado to conduct research, and after obtaining permission from the Shepherd of the Calvary Congregation, the researcher will conduct research on parents related to the researcher's problem, namely the extent of parental understanding in The church is about human death. From the discussion above it turns out that there are still many parents who do not understand and some even do not understand the meaning of the death of believers based on Bible truth to be learned, to the church, taught to the next generation and for the growth of the faith of each person especially specifically to people in the Mogoyunggung Calvary Baptist Church. Parents need to understand life as a Christian believer to see death based on Bible truth because that will help parents understand, teach and interpret death for believers so that parents understand correctly how to live, believe and be with God even if they face and experience death. In addition, in the interview process there are some parents in giving their answers doubtful even some are not appropriate that they provide answers that are different from questions outside the researcher's questions. Because of all these problems, problems arise because parents do not understand the death of believers according to II Corinthians 5: 1-10. Mogoyunggung Village is a village located in Bolaang Mongondow Regency. Even so, this village has a population that is mostly people who have a very strong Minahasa culture. In this case Calvary Mogoyunggung Baptist Church congregation has a Minahasa cultural background. It is important to note that 20 informants are loyal parents in the ministry, some are ministers in the local church, some have good education and some do not, some have a good economy and some are mediocre. However, there is one of the informants who has the right understanding and answers according to what the researcher has studied is parents who have long been Christians, ordinary people who do not have a good education and sufficient economy, are not very influential in service or society but faithful in service.
