Abstract

The house does not only affect us but also the environment around us either directly or indirectly. How the house looks, built and where it is built, all have an impact on our environment. In addition the hole also possesses a wider influence. At home we consume large amounts of resources, such as energy and water. Both resources are part of our daily lives. However, how it could be to abtain and use resources that could be damaging to the environment. Our daily activities also generate so much trash some of which may take years or even centuries to decompose. If burned, most of the garbage is toxic. Others are dangerous for many reasons. Many of the chemicals we use at home turned out to be toxic and have harmful effects in the long run, both for humans and the environment. We all want to feel comfortable and secure our home. We can make a house a comfortable place to live without ‘ harm the earth ’. And, more importantly, we can set an example to uor children in order to do rhe same. This is what is meant by sustainable living.

Abstract

Testing method using a laboratory test machine press basically gives an accurate value for the specimen made up destroyed. While the test method test hammer (hammer concrete) made with infact burden (impact) on the surface of the concrete by using a mass that is activated by using a certain amount of energy in concrete construction, for example on the beam. The purpose of this study was to determine differences in the average compressive strength of the resulting test press until crushed (using a pressure test) and a test based infact press (using a hammer concrete). To test the field Test Hammer made of reinforced concrete beams (15cmx20cm x 200cm) made 1 piece samples (tested the left side, right and center. Subsequently the specimen was care for 27 days and testing of compressive strength at 28 days. Directions vertical concrete test hammer down α = - 90. Based on test results obtained in this study: average compressive strength - flat with a hammer and a concrete cylinder specimen gives the smallest value is: 263.7 kg/cm2. Compressive  average using Hammer Concrete and concrete beam specimen gives a higher value, namely: 288.5 kg/cm2.Compressive press average using engine compression test gives the highest value, 300.9 kg/cm2. Average ratio between using compressive strength machine  and  using test tools hammer concrete: 1.043 (beam specimen) and 1, 141 (cylindrical specimen).

Abstract

Level of vulnerability of small islands in Indonesia are high to disasters due to climate change, impact on sea level rise, increase in rainfall, and temperature rise. This affects sectors of community life in a small island, namely the settlement, economy, agriculture, tourism, etc. This paper focuses on disaster mitigation in small island viewed from the perspective of the architectural layout of the building and the environment in facing disaster risk. The impact of disasters on community can be prevented as focusing on the arrangement of the buildings and the environment, with technology engineering effort. Spatial planning for disaster mitigation conducted by adjusting the structure and patterns of space utilization with the vulnerability of the region to various forms of natural occurrence that could potentially occur.

Abstract

The Dutch Colonialism-Imperialism Buildings nowdays can be seen spread spatially at big towns in Indonesia., especially in Makassar, they were seen spread in the every corner of the town, because of Makassar or ujung pandang were one of the biggest port as a portal to east Indonesian region. The Dutch colonialism buildings has a certain form characteristic of Facade as European Architecture style, the originality of it’s facades are changed as well, they are following the environment and climate in indonesia wich is a tropical climate, the changed characteristic and adaptation of facade characteristic it’s will be a subject to discuss ini this journal.

Abstract

The increasing development of technology at this time, resulting in the need for facilities and infrastructure such as buildings, roads, bridges, and so is also increasing. This research aims to find the effect of plastic pellets as supplementary material or as a substitute for the coarse aggregate in weight-volume, tensile strength, and flexural strength of concrete due to the use of plastic pellets. Concrete mixture used cement, water, sand, and crushed stone, plastic pellets also replace some or all of the crushed stone. Pellet is a type of plastic waste polypropylene (PP) of bottled water containers are processed to resemble the shape of crushed stone. Concrete mix design used SNI 03-2834-2002 with a compressive strength of 20 MPa plan. Variations in the sample of concrete were levels of without pellets, pellet grade with 60%, 80%, and 100% of the volume of crushed stone. Specimens in the form of cylinders and beams were tested at 28 days. The test results of concrete with plastic pellets levels 60%, 80%, and 100% were weight-volume of concrete in a row at 1967 kg/m3, 1778 kg/m3, and 1676 kg/m3, tensile strength of concrete in a row at 1,52 MPa, 1,46 MPa, and 1,10 MPa, flexural strength of concrete in a row at 2,54 MPa, 2,61 MPa, and 2,19 MPa.

Abstract

The study aimed to compare the compressive strength and unit weight of normal concrete with concrete using extreme temperature wate, cold water temperature is + 0 °C and hot water temperature is + 100 °C. As a comparison sample used normal concrete using water temperature + 4 °C. The composition of the concrete mix is volume ratio 1:2:3 and the amount of concrete cube specimen every 15 cubes, a total of three kinds of concrete sample; NC, CC and HC. Specimens used were 150 mm concrete cube. Measurement of unit weight using the balance sheet and compressive strength testing using a Universal Testing Machine capacity of 100 tons. The results showed an average unit weight at 28 days of the concrete samples NC, CC and HC, respectively 2151.11 kg/m3, 2210,37 kg/m3 and 2121,48 kg/m3. Average compressive strength at 28 days, respectively kg/m2 106.05, 104.39 and 167.69 kg/m2 with a maximum compressive strength of 181.76 kg/m2 in concrete using hot water.

Abstract

The goal to be achieved in the preparation of this thesis is to find out the solutions used to overcome problems caused by soft subgrade on a flexible pavement construction (flexible pavement). In addition to known advantages and disadvantages of each of the solutions to deal with the problems posed by soft soils in a flexible pavement construction.
