Abstract

Background. Patient satisfaction is an important issue in hospitals, both in Indonesia and abroad. Low satisfaction levels can negatively impact the development of hospitals. Patient satisfaction is a key indicator in health services, as it reflects patients' assessment of the services received, compared to their expectations of services in health facilities. Purpose. This study aims to determine the difference in service satisfaction between BPJS and non-BPJS patients in hospitals, as an effort to identify factors that affect patient satisfaction in both groups. Method. The method used in this study is a literature review, in which various journals from various sources relevant to this topic are analyzed. This approach allows for a deeper understanding of the differences in satisfaction levels between BPJS and non-BPJS patients based on previous studies. Results. The results of this study show that there is a difference in satisfaction levels between BPJS and non-BPJS patients. Factors such as waiting times, quality of interaction with health workers, and availability of facilities affect the difference in satisfaction in these two patient groups. Conclusion. This study concludes that the difference in service satisfaction between BPJS and non-BPJS patients shows the importance of service adjustment based on the needs and expectations of each patient group. Improving the quality of service for BPJS and non-BPJS patients is expected to increase overall patient satisfaction, which in turn supports the development of the hospital in the long term.

Abstract

Background. Emojis have become an important part of digital communication, being used extensively to express emotions and clarify the meaning of messages. Although their use continues to increase, there has not been much research on how emojis affect linguistics and social interaction, especially in relation to different cultural contexts. Purpose. This research aims to explore the evolution of emoji language and its impact on digital communication, as well as understand the differences in the use of emoji in various cultures and formal and informal situations. Method. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method by collecting data through questionnaires and in-depth interviews with 100 respondents who use social media. Text analysis was also carried out to identify patterns of emoji use in daily communication. Results. The results showed that emojis were more often used in informal conversations to convey positive emotions, while their use in formal contexts was more limited and cautious. There are significant differences in the use of emojis between Western and Asian cultures, with Western cultures more likely to use facial expression-based emojis and Asian cultures preferring neutral symbols. Conclusion. The study concluded that emojis serve as an effective visual communication tool, but their use is greatly influenced by social and cultural contexts. This study made a significant contribution to the understanding of visual language in digital communication and paved the way for further research on the use of emojis in professional and formal contexts.

Abstract

Background. Children typically acquire their mother tongue and foreign languages, such as English, through interactive and engaging activities. Games like Spelling Bee create a relaxed, stress-free environment conducive to learning and vocabulary retention, which supports effective communication and reduces pressure on students. Purpose. The study aims to examine the effect of the Spelling Bee game on students' pronunciation of English vocabulary, focusing specifically on seventh-grade students. Method. This research employs a quasi-experimental quantitative approach using a time series design. Data collection techniques include a pretest, treatment (Spelling Bee game), and posttest. Data analysis was conducted through Normality and Hypothesis Tests (Shapiro-Wilk), with data processed using SPSS version 20. Results. The results reveal a significant improvement in students’ pronunciation of English vocabulary due to the Spelling Bee method. The mean score increased from 33.8 in the pretest to 226.9 in the posttest, with a significance value of 0.018 (<0.05), indicating that the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted and the null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. This demonstrates the positive impact of the Spelling Bee game on pronunciation. Conclusion. The study concludes that the Spelling Bee method effectively enhances English vocabulary pronunciation among seventh-grade students. The findings strongly support the method's use in educational settings as a valuable tool for improving pronunciation skills and overall language proficiency.

Abstract

Background. Intersectional studies are often associated with political efforts to understand the interconnections between gender, class and race. Antonia Brico as the main character shows a strong ambition to become a famous conductor in classical music despite getting rejection from men, financial difficulties, and social pressure. Purpose. This research aims to analyze the various forms of discrimination faced by women in The Conductor movie, focusing on the intersectional feminist theory proposed by Kimberly Crenshaw. Method. This study employs descriptive qualitative methodologies. The dataset for this research consists of 14 instances of discrimination against women, as well as the portrayal of women's efforts to attain gender equality in the movie. These data are utilized by researchers to facilitate the analysis process. Results. The researchers identified multiple instances of discrimination encountered by women, particularly the protagonist Antonia Brico, who faced challenges from different sources. One example of this is the strong urge and motivation to advocate for women's rights in society, particularly in the position of leadership, within the realm of music. In addition, this movie presents other issues, including social, cultural, and political challenges that are primarily connected to Antonia Brico's personal battle. Conclusion. Brico shows her intellectual ability by studying with renowned musicians and conductors, even studying abroad, to gain knowledge and achieve her goals. She also demonstrates the courage to self-actualize, which is shown by her efforts to challenge perspectives that undermine women, such as the belief that women cannot lead and must hold positions below men. In addition, she also showed patience and tenacity in facing all the obstacles of oppression and discrimination that occurred.
