Abstract

One of the cornerstones of vital health services in the community or medical facility is nursing care. It centers on the delivery of high-quality nursing care, which can be handled by competent, driven professional nurses. Such talents can be influenced by elements that come from the nurses themselves as well as external factors like length of service and education level. Nurse performance is one of the important aspects of quality health care. Good performance from nurses can improve the quality of patient care, efficiency of health services, and patient and family satisfaction. This study employed a cross-sectional research methodology to examine the association between nurses' performance and their duration of service and educational attainment. Because this design enables the researcher to measure these variables at a single moment in time, it was selected. This study focused on every nurse employed by the RSU hospital.  The results of the chi-square test calculation for the variable level of education and nurse performance show a chi-square value of 17,469 with a p value of 0.002. Since the p value is <0.05, it can be concluded that there is a significant relationship between education level and nurse performance. Education Improvement: Use scholarship programmes, tuition support, or flexible study times to encourage nurses to continue their education. Continuous Training: Ongoing training and professional development programmes ensure that nurses have the knowledge and skills relevant to nursing trends. Reward for Experience: Recognise and reward nurses' work experience by providing greater opportunities and responsibilities for professional advancement.

Abstract

All over the world, health workers, including nurses, experience job stress. A study conducted on nurses at Lancang Kuning Hospital Pekanbaru found that many things can cause them to experience high work stress. These include fatigue and psychological distress caused by a non-ideal working environment. (Djamaluddin, 2022). To determine the relationship between nurses' caring behavior and their level of job stress, thi s quantitative study will use a descriptive correlational approach. All nurses working in the hospital are included in the population of this study. A sample size of 42 nurses will be taken using a stratified random sampling technique to ensure that the sample comes from various work units of the hospital, such as the emergency department, intensive care unit, and general care unit. Of the 42 nurses surveyed, only 38.1% (16 people) reported experiencing mild job stress, while 61.9% (26 people) reported experiencing moderate job stress. No nurses reported experiencing significant job stress, according to Table 1. Nurses demonstrated both good and poor caring behaviors, as shown in Table 3. 28.5% of twelve nurses showed good behaviors, and 71.5% of thirty nurses showed poor behaviors. Nurses with mild job stress showed good caring behavior (23.81%) compared to nurses with poor caring behavior (14.29%). In contrast, nurses with work stress more often showed poor caring behavior (57.14%) than nurses with good caring behavior (4.76%). The results of this study show that reducing nurses' job stress has a negative correlation with their caring behavior; nurses with lower levels of job stress tend to perform better caring behavior.

Abstract

The role of nurses as direct patient care providers is crucial in the healthcare system. Very high expertise is required for this job, both technical and non-technical. To maintain and improve the quality of health services, nurses must continuously acquire knowledge and skills through organized and continuous in-service training (Aulia et al., 2023; Teniwut, 2023). Nursing in-service training effectiveness will be assessed in this study using a quasi-experimental method. In order to assess the impact of training on nurses' abilities and performance in delivering nursing care, this design makes it possible to compare nurses who receive training with those who do not in a straightforward manner. According to the study, 65 nurses (58 percent) had a good understanding of nursing services, while 47 nurses (42%) had a fair understanding. Before the training, 47 patients (59%) were satisfied with the nursing services they received, while 31 patients (41%) were dissatisfied. The data demonstrated an improvement in patient satisfaction following training and reinforcement, with 59 patients (68%) feeling satisfied and 27 patients (32%) feeling less satisfied. When compared to baseline data, this demonstrates a significant increase in patient satisfaction, suggesting that nursing service training can improve patients' quality of life. Structured and continuous nursing service training is essential to improve nurses' competence and the quality of services provided to patients. This training not only improves patient satisfaction but also increases nurses' confidence and their professionalism in carrying out their duties.

Abstract

Nursing is a profession that is of great importance in the context of health services provided in hospitals. The quality of health services is significantly influenced by the performance of nurses who work in various treatment rooms. The objective of this study is to identify and analyse the relationship between the leadership style of the head of the room and the nurses’ desire to work in the nurses’ room of the RSIA Cicik Hospital. This study employed a quantitative research design with a descriptive cross-sectional study approach. 25% of employees had high motivation, while 75% had low motivation according to the authoritarian perspective. On the democratic side, 85.7% of employees had high motivation. With a p-value of 0.02, this relationship showed statistical significance. According to the democratic analysis, 30% of staff members have low motivation and 70% have high motivation. According to the authoritarian analysis, 87.5% of staff members have low motivation. As evidence of the statistical significance of this relationship, the p-value is 0.025. In the democratic perspective, 18.2% of staff members had low motivation and 81.8% had high motivation, while the authoritarian perspective showed that 75% of staff members had low motivation. This relationship has statistical significance with a p-value of 0.07. It would be beneficial for hospital management and ward heads to consider adopting a more democratic leadership style. To this end, ward leaders may benefit from undertaking leadership training, which will equip them with the skills required to manage teams in a more inclusive and supportive manner.

Abstract

The healthcare sector is a dynamic and complex field, which necessitates that medical personnel, particularly nurses, possess continually evolving skills and knowledge. The objective is to examine the relationship between work experience and the competence of nurses in nursing actions, as well as other factors that may contribute to the development of such skills. The study employs a cross-sectional design, which is a research approach that collects data at a given time point with the objective of evaluating the relationship between the work experience of nurses and their ability to perform nursing actions. The majority of respondents (55.1%) have been in their current role for between one and seven years, while 39% have been in their role for between eight and 14 years, and 5% have been in their role for between 15 and 21 years. The majority of respondents (70.3%) have high work experience, while 29.7% have moderate work experience. The majority of nurses (60.2%) are considered to possess the requisite skills, while the remainder (39.8%) are deemed to have sufficient abilities. The results indicate that 60% of nurses with moderate work experience have adequate skills, while 40% have good skills. It is crucial to invest in the professional development of nurses with extensive work experience, as they tend to possess higher levels of competence. It is therefore incumbent upon health organisations to provide sustainable professional development support and opportunities to enhance the skills and competencies of their nursing staff
