Abstract

This research aims to describe the characteristics and metacognition of high school counselors. The type of research used is descriptive with a survey method. The research subjects were 166 school counselors. The research results show that the counseling process has not fully implemented metacognition-based counseling skills. This indicates that in implementing counseling, counselors have not taken into account the effectiveness of intrapersonal skills as an integrated skill within the counselor.

Abstract

A counselor will be said to be professional if he is able to master the concepts and practice of assessment to understand students' conditions, needs and problems, master the theoretical and practical framework of Guidance and Counseling (BK), design a BK program, implement a comprehensive BK program, assess the process and results of BK activities , have awareness and commitment to professional ethics and master the concepts and practice of research in BK. This research is development research. The needs analysis stage was carried out using the survey method. However, in reality there are still many counselors who have not mastered all of the above competencies. This is also due to the large number of duties and responsibilities of school counselors in dealing with student problems compared to the number of counselors in schools. Ideally one counselor handles 150 students at school (Permendiknas No. 27 of 2008). However, in reality in the field, based on observations at several high schools (SMA) in the city of Malang, counselors hold more than 150 students and some even hold more than 500 students. From the description of the data as presented, it can be concluded as follows. (1) Many counselors complain about the school atmosphere which does not allow counselors to carry out counseling well, (2) Counselors need alternative individual service strategies because they have difficulty applying counseling approaches in all situations, (3) Counselors must be creative in implementing counseling services and strategies to provide good service to students.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness of self -instruction techniques to increase the confidence of the students of SMPN 20 Malang . Data were collected using the inventory of confidence and analyzed with the Wilcoxon test through SPSS to students who have low self-esteem category . Results from the study are students who have a low level of confidence there are five people , students were given counseling group with the techniques of self -instruction , students are given a pretest - posttest to measure the effectiveness of a given technique , students increase confidence after attending group counseling techniques self- instruction.

Abstract

This study aims to determine students' self concept elementary school level are often absent from school for more happy participated send goods by driving a truck, factors that affect the self-concept of students as well as learned behavior arising from the self-concept. This research is a qualitative case study type that includes the steps of: 1) Define the research questions, 2) Select the case and determine data gathering and analysis techniques, 3) Prepare to collect the data, 4) Collect data in the field, 5) Evaluate and analyze the data, and 6) Prepare the report. Data is collected using interview and observation techniques. Data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. The results of this research are three self-concept of students that consist of: (a) I can drive and will be a driver, (b) I was the mainstay of the family that should help make a living, and (c) I'm not good at math. In addition, other results of this study are the factors that affect self-concept of students consists of factors originating from within the students, which is realized by comparing themselves with others, and the factors that come from outside in the form of the process of identifying the behavior of his grandfather by him , Also well-known as well as learned behavior that arise from student self-concept that includes ditching and passive when in class.

Abstract

This development reaserch aims to produce sociodramas manual to increase the value of social care junior high school students theoretically and practically acceptable. This research method adapted the Borg and Gall procedural model covering the planning stage, the stage of product development and test phase of the product. Design test is test material experts and drama experts, potential users test products and test a small group. These products meet very precise criteria, very useful, very easy and very attractive to mean very feasible to use. It can be concluded that the guidelines have been grateful sociodramas theoretically and practically.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between Social Skills and Use Gadgets Smartphone with Student Achievement SMA Negeri 9 Malang. This research is descriptive corelational. Total population of this study were 316 students with a total sample of 84 students. The sample selection using questionnaires and Likers scale and documentation in the form of report cards. Test requirements analysis using normality test and test linier. The analytical method used is multiple regression analysis. The results of this study indicate that: (1) There is a significant relationship between social skills and academic achievement obtained count r = 0.442> r table 5% = 0.312 and p = 0.000 <0.05. (2) There is a relationship between the use of gadgets smartphone with student achievement obtained count r = 0.425> r table 5% = 0.312 and p = 0.000 <0.05. (3) There is a positive relationship between social skills and use your smartphone gadgets and academic achievement, demonstrated the significant value which was 0.000 ≤ 0.05, which means that Ha value is accepted. Based on research, there are some suggestions to consider: (1) For the counselor, as a contribution and useful information to develop programs of Guidance and Counseling in particular in the field of counseling services social, about the counseling services of social skills and the use of gadgets smartphones to high school students in order to develop optimally. (2) Parents are expected to be able to monitor properly the development of children, as well as guiding and educating to improve child development. (3) For further research are expected next researcher to use this research as a reference or to examine additional data related to social skills and use your smartphone gadget with academic achievement.
