Abstract

A simple approach for understanding seismic wave propagation in, porous media has been developed based on the effect of stress gradient on compressibility of the matrix and the fluid. The fluid saturation is accommodated in the bulk density formulation. The approach started from Gassmann theoretical formulation followed by simplifying the mathematical detail by substituting their physical aspects. Finally a practical formula for core analysis purposes is introduced. The theoretical concepts and experimental results appear to be in a good agreement.
INCREASING OIL RECOVERY THROUGH LOW-TENSION POLYMER FLOODING Sugihardjo Sugihardjo

Show Abstract | Download Original | Original Source | Check in Google Scholar | DOI: 10.29017/SCOG.22.2.1089

Abstract

After completing a waterflood activity, the need of enhancing oil recovery (EOR) is essential. The selection of appropriate EOR methods that will be applied to particular field, as an effort to increase oil recovery, mainly depens on the reservoir characteristics and fluid behaviors.

Abstract

The fundamental control in petrophysical properties of carbonate rock can be quite different from sandstone, there-fore it needs different technique in permeability assessment. In this study we proposed a technique to assess permeability using probe permeameter for carbonate rock. The technique applied Multiple Tip Size (MTS) Probe permeameter which provides speedy, non destructively sampling at a significantly increased density. The key feature of the MTS is the use of different tip size. By using the MTS probe permeameter, the data can be screened to assess the appropriate data
CURRENT USES AND FUTURE CHALLENGES FOR ZEOLITE IN THE INDONESIAN OIL AND GAS PROCESSING INDUSTRY A.S. Nasution; Chairil Anwar; E. Jasjfi

Abstract

Oil and gas industry uses zeolite as an adsorbent to reduce moisture content of natural gas in LNG Plant, and as catalyst to convert the heavy petroleum fractions feeds into light clean fuels in refinery.Low quality crude oil, low residual fuel demand, and an increased demands and spesifications for light products (gasoline, kerosene, and diesel oil) and petrochemical products, future challenges for utilization zeolite as cracking catalyst in refinery are encouraging.
