Abstract

Flowerhorn fish is a predatory fish that is a cross between Cichlasoma, Paraneetroplus and Amphilophus. In Indonesian waters, flowerhorn fish is very dangerous to the local ecosystem because it can be the main predator. This study reports the catch of flowerhorn fish in large numbers in Lahor Reservoir, Malang, East Java, so it has the potential to become an invasive fish. The research method uses a desk study method with secondary data and field observations by sources. The catch of flowerhorn fish in Lahor Reservoir is an important note to maintain the natural ecosystem of the reservoir from the invasiveness of this fish. Flowerhorn fish species in Lahor Reservoir must be mapped, monitored and regulated with strict rules so that the balance of the reservoir ecosystem is maintained. A description of the morphology of the flowerhorn fish species caught is included in the discussion.

Abstract

Vannamei shrimp have advantages that make them ideal for cultivation. These advantages include high responsiveness to feed or large appetite, resistance to disease. One important aspect in intensive cultivation production is monitoring water quality parameters in shrimp ponds. Some of the main parameters that need to be considered for successful vannamei shrimp farming include pH, temperature, and dissolved oxygen (DO) levels. This study aims to analyze the effect of water quality, especially pH, temperature, and DO, on the growth of vannamei shrimp at PT. Biru Laut Nusantara, Pangandaran Regency, West Java. This study uses descriptive methods, observation, active participation, and surveys to describe a particular event or condition based on the symptoms and facts found. The data collection methods used are primary data and secondary data. There are two types of data collection based on their sources. The results of the study showed that water quality, especially temperature and DO in vannamei shrimp farming ponds, were at their optimum values. With a temperature value between 25-32oC and DO between 4.6 - 8.2. Meanwhile, the pH is between 7.5 – 9.0, this value is slightly higher than the pH standard but is still considered safe.

Abstract

This study presents an economic analysis of the cantang grouper (Epinephelus sp.) the hatchery at the BBRBLPP Gondol. The research objective is to provide information to business actors in developing the grouper hatchery sector in Indonesia. The results of the business analysis show that the investment costs needed for the cantang grouper hatchery business activities are Rp. 336,590,000. depreciation of Rp. 35,615,000. The fixed cost required for one year is Rp. 164,615,000. Production costs to be incurred in the amount of Rp. 176,299,000. Revenue obtained for one year is Rp. 345,600,000. The profit gained during the year is Rp. 169,301,000. An R/C ratio of 1.96 means that each additional cost of Rp. 1 will receive an income of Rp. 1.96. Payback Period of 1,988, meaning the investment costs incurred will be returned after the hatchery business runs for 2 years. BEP rupiah of 171,473,958. This means that the turning point will be reached if the seed sales reach IDR 171,473,958. BEP unit of 28,396, which means the turning point of hatchery venture capital will be achieved if seed production reaches 28,396. The prospect of Cantang grouper hatchery business in the future is up-and-coming for the Bali region. Most grouper farmers prefer the cantang grouper because the development of the cantang grouper is faster and more resistant to disease.

Abstract

Sunrise platy fish (Xiphophorus sp.) breeding is one of the platy fish cultivation activities that aims to increase and multiply sunrise platy fish, starting from spawning to becoming seeds. This practical activity aims to determine the technique of sunrise platy fish breeding with different treatments. The methods used in this study were experiments and active participation. The variables observed were parent parameters including parent age, and characteristics of mature gonad parents, parent morphology, hatching rate (HR), survival rate (SR), and water quality. The sunrise platy fish breeding activity consists of several stages, namely preparation of spawning containers with treatments P1: using Malang sand without aquatic plants, P2: using Malang sand and aquatic plants, P3: not using Malang sand and aquatic plants, then parent selection, spawning, larval transfer, larval maintenance, disease management, water quality management. The results of this study obtained the highest fertilization value in P1 with a total of 45 fish larvae and an SR value of 100%.

Abstract

Platy fish (Xiphophorus maculatus) is one type of ornamental fish that is popular with the public because it has beautiful colors so that its aesthetic and economic value is high. The purpose of this study was to determine how to cultivate ornamental platy fish (Xiphophorus maculatus) especially the type of cendrawasih platy properly and correctly without aeration starting from spawning to seed care using different seed media, by paying attention to physical and chemical water quality management. There were three treatments used in this study, namely, P1 (Sand + aquatic plants), P2 (sand without plants), and P3 (without sand and without plants). The feeding method was carried out routinely twice a day with add libitum. Water quality monitoring was carried out routinely for three days by measuring the physical and chemical quality of the water. The results showed that the treatment that spawned the most was P1 with a total of 22 fry.
