Abstract

Hypertension is a silent killer because it often occurs without complaints, symptoms can vary among individuals, and are almost the same as the symptoms of other diseases and can cause several complications including coronary heart disease, stroke and kidney failure. To support appropriate hypertension therapy, health counseling is needed given that knowledge and adherence to the expected therapeutic effect can be achieved. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of health counseling on increasing patient knowledge and compliance. Primary data collection was carried out from February to March 2023, using the one-group pre and post-test experimental quasi-methods, for 55 respondents. The research instrument used two questionnaires, namely patient knowledge and compliance. Blood pressure was 140/90 in 34 (61,82%) patients and the duration of hypertension was 5 years in as many as 43 (78,2%) patients. The percentage of patients who completed the post-test patient knowledge was as high as 100%, and the percentage of patients who completed the post-test compliance was as high as 63,64%. A significant difference was found between the two data sets (p= 0.000). Patient knowledge and compliance increased significantly from before health counseling to after health counseling.

Abstract

Diabetic ulcers are a complication in patients with uncontrolled diabetes mellitus. Patients with diabetic ulcers feel anxious and burdened economically, socially, and medically. There is an increasing number of diabetic ulcer cases in hospitals globally and nationally. Seeing this fact, it is necessary to know factors that can accelerate wound healing such as diet, medication, and physical activity. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between dietary compliance and wound conditions in diabetic ulcer patients. This study was a quantitative study, correlation analysis with a cross-sectional approach. The independent variable was dietary compliance. The dependent variable was the wound condition of diabetic ulcer patients. The study was conducted at Dr. Rehatta Regional General Hospital in June-July 2025. A total of 66 samples were selected through a purposive sampling technique. 66 samples were obtained using the Slovin formula. The inclusion criteria were patients diagnosed with diabetes mellitus, diabetic ulcer wounds, composmentis, surgical poly patients, able to read or hear and answer questions on the questionnaire. The exclusion criteria were patients with other disease complications. The research instrument used a dietary compliance questionnaire and a Bates Jensen wound assessment tool observation sheet. Data analysis used the Spearman Rho correlation test. The Spearman Rho test results showed a value (p = 0.000; p 0.05). It was concluded that there was a significant relationship between dietary compliance and wound conditions in diabetic ulcer patients. The correlation coefficient value showed a positive correlation direction with a strong category. It is expected that patients with diabetic ulcers can improve compliance in implementing the recommended dietary pattern.Hospitals are expected to always provide motivation and education to diabetes sufferers regarding diabetes, through service activities inside and outside the building such as posbindu, posyandu and home visits.

Abstract

Vulvar pruritus is a common problem experienced by adolescent  during menstruation, often caused by a lack of understanding of proper vulvar hygiene. Maintaining cleanliness during menstruation significantly impacts one's health, especially in preventing reproductive tract infections. This study aimed to identify the correlation between vulvar hygiene during menstruation and the occurrence of vulvar pruritus among female students at MA Nurul Huda Medini Demak. This quantitative study adopted a correlational research design using a cross-sectional approach. The population of this study consisted of 134 female students at MA Nurul Huda, with a sample of 100 students selected using simple random sampling. Data was collected using an online questionnaire on Google Forms and analyzed using the Spearman rank test and processed using computer software. The results showed a statistically significant correlation between vulvar hygiene during menstruation and vulvar pruritus among adolescent girls at MA Nurul Huda Medini Demak with a p-value of 0.001 α = 0.05, with a moderate strength of association (0.342) and a positive direction. This study concludes that hygiene during menstruation is crucial for maintaining the health of the female reproductive organs, especially to prevent reproductive tract infections such as vulvar pruritus.
