Makapande: Jurnal Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat merupakan media publikasi ilmiah yang memuat hasil kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilakukan oleh akademisi, peneliti, praktisi, maupun mahasiswa. Jurnal ini bertujuan untuk menjadi wadah diseminasi dan pertukaran informasi terkait penerapan ilmu pengetahuan, teknologi, dan seni dalam pemberdayaan masyarakat, pengembangan potensi lokal, peningkatan kesejahteraan, serta penyelesaian masalah sosial. Ruang lingkup publikasi meliputi, tetapi tidak terbatas pada: Pemberdayaan masyarakat desa dan urban. Pengembangan usaha mikro, kecil, dan menengah (UMKM). Pendidikan dan literasi masyarakat. Abstract

Management of Village-Owned Enterprises (BUMDes) to support the economic welfare of village communities. The activity was carried out in Pangi Village, Baolan District, Tolitoli Regency. The main activities carried out included training, technical assistance, and evaluation focused on financial management, marketing strategy planning, business variety development, and increasing operational efficiency. The results of the activity showed an increase in the capabilities of BUMDes managers, especially in creating accountable financial reports, developing digital-based marketing strategies, and identifying new business opportunities. In addition, the average income of BUMDes increased by 30%, and community involvement in BUMDes activities also increased. However, several challenges, such as limited access to technology and resistance to change, still need to be addressed through follow-up programs so that the results achieved can be sustained. Overall, this program has made a positive contribution to increasing the professionalism of BUMDes management and strengthening the village economy.

Abstract

Tinabogan Village in Tolitoli Regency has great potential for goat farming development, but still faces various challenges in goat husbandry management. This community service activity aims to improve the capacity of farmers through a participatory approach in the form of open discussions. The method used refers to the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) concept, with stages including problem identification, conducting discussion forums, and evaluating and developing recommendations. The activity was held at the Tinabogan Village Hall and involved 22 local farmers and resource persons from the Madako University Tolitoli Community Service Program (KKN) team. The discussion results revealed key issues such as suboptimal feeding, poor pen sanitation, limited animal health services, and the lack of production records. The discussion forum also generated several local solutions and good practices that can be directly implemented by farmers. This activity demonstrates that a dialogic and participatory approach can improve farmers' practical knowledge and strengthen collaboration between actors. Thus, open discussions are an effective medium for promoting sustainable empowerment in the rural livestock sector,

Abstract

The problem of plastic waste has become a national issue that requires serious attention, including in Tolitoli Regency. The local government continues to strive to improve overall waste management. Plastic that is difficult to decompose can pollute the soil, water, and air, and harm public health. Therefore, innovative strategies are needed that are not only able to reduce the volume of waste but also provide tangible benefits to the community. This community service aims to increase public awareness about the importance of creative and sustainable plastic waste management. The activity was carried out in January–February 2025 in Puse Village, South Dampal District, Tolitoli Regency, involving village officials, youth organisations, and the community. The implementation method included socialisation, plastic waste collection, ecobrick making training, and assembling ecobricks on an iron frame to form a village nameplate. The activity results showed an increase in public awareness in waste management, new skills in ecobrick making, and the realisation of an aesthetic and functional ecobrick-based village nameplate. This community service concludes that the ecobrick method has proven effective as a strategy for reducing plastic waste and strengthening village identity. With active community participation, this activity has the potential to be replicated in other villages as a model of sustainable, environmentally friendly innovation

Abstract

Primary education plays a crucial role in establishing students’ cognitive foundations, including logical reasoning, conceptual understanding, and critical thinking skills. However, teaching and learning processes at this level often face challenges, particularly in delivering materials in a way that is engaging and aligned with children's learning styles. To address these issues, this community service activity aimed to enhance students’ intellectual understanding by integrating interactive animated videos projected through digital media. The activity took place on July 15, 2025, at SD Negeri 1 Nalu, involving 33 sixth-grade students. The instructional content focused on the theme of environmental preservation within the IPAS (Science and Social Studies) subject. A participatory approach was employed, including teacher training, pre- and post-tests, animated video presentations, and interactive discussions. The results showed a significant increase in students’ comprehension, as evidenced by higher post-test scores. Students also demonstrated enthusiasm and active participation throughout the learning process. In conclusion, the integration of projector-based interactive animation proves to be an effective instructional strategy, enhancing not only students’ conceptual grasp but also fostering early awareness of environmental responsibility.

Abstract

Advancements in digital technology have led to significant transformations in the field of education, one of which is the integration of artificial intelligence (AI). AI offers the potential to deliver interactive, adaptive, and personalized learning experiences. However, many educators still face considerable challenges in incorporating AI into their teaching practices, primarily due to limited digital literacy and insufficient access to professional development opportunities.This community engagement initiative was designed to empower educators and enhance their competencies in educational technology through a structured training workshop focused on the use of Teachy AI—an AI-based platform specifically developed to support teaching and learning processes. The workshop involved ten participants, comprising both teachers and students. The outcomes of the activity demonstrated a marked improvement in participants’ understanding and practical skills, as evidenced by comparative analysis of pre-test and post-test results. Educators who were previously only familiar with general AI tools such as ChatGPT or CanvaAI gained proficiency in using Teachy AI to develop interactive educational media, streamline administrative tasks, and foster more meaningful engagement with students.

Abstract

The community service activity through the implementation of the Independence Day competitions in Ogotua Village was carried out as an effort to foster nationalism while strengthening social cohesion in commemorating the 80th Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence. The background of this initiative lies in the concern over the declining patriotic spirit among the younger generation, influenced by globalization and the lack of awareness of national values. Therefore, the Independence Day competitions serve as a strategic medium to revive unity, sportsmanship, and solidarity. The program consisted of several stages, including committee formation, technical meetings, equipment preparation, competition implementation, and a closing ceremony with prize distribution. The results showed a high level of enthusiasm from the community as well as full support from village officials. The competitions—such as mini soccer, women’s volleyball, fun walks, gymnastics, and marching—successfully created an atmosphere of togetherness and joy while strengthening patriotic values. Thus, this activity not only served as annual entertainment but also as a character-building medium and reinforcement of nationalism that should be preserved in the future.

Abstract

The Quizizz application training at SDN 3 Tampiala was conducted as an effort to improve teacher competency in integrating digital technology into interactive learning. The background of this activity was the still limited use of technology-based learning media by teachers, who tended to use conventional methods such as lectures and written assignments, resulting in less than optimal student engagement. Through this training, teachers were equipped with practical skills in creating quiz-based questions, setting game modes, using leaderboard features and instant feedback, and analyzing student learning outcomes more quickly and efficiently. The implementation results showed an increase in teacher competency both in terms of technical skills and creativity in designing learning. In addition, this training had a positive impact on increasing student learning motivation because the learning environment became more enjoyable and interactive. However, several obstacles such as limited internet connection and differences in teachers' initial abilities in using digital devices still remain obstacles that need to be addressed. Overall, this training successfully became the first step in supporting digital transformation in education, as well as providing alternative learning methods relevant to the needs of 21st-century students.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to accelerate economic transformation in Malala Village through collaboration with the digital platform Draiv Food. The primary focus of this activity is empowering Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) and creating job opportunities for villagers. During its implementation, local business actors received entrepreneurship training, mentoring in the business digitalization process, and support for wider market access through the Draiv Food application. The results of the DRAIV application socialization have positively impacted the community. Through this activity, the community now realizes and understands the function and benefits of the DRAIV application as a local digital service. In addition, this activity also creates new job opportunities, especially for the younger generation interested in becoming delivery partners or digital entrepreneurs. With support from the village government and relevant officials, the use of DRAIV is further strengthened as an effort to move towards an independent and technology-based village.

Abstract

The development of information technology has brought significant changes to the field of education, including teaching methods and learning media. Teachers are required to possess adequate digital skills to create interactive learning experiences that are relevant to the needs of the 21st century. However, many teachers in rural areas still lack the ability to optimally utilize interactive learning media. This community service activity aimed to improve teachers’ digital skills through training on the use of Wordwall as an interactive learning medium. The activity was conducted at SDN 3 Malala, Dondo Subdistrict, Tolitoli Regency, involving eight participants consisting of classroom teachers and subject teachers. The implementation methods included interactive lectures, demonstrations, hands-on practice, mentoring, and evaluation. The results showed an increase in teachers’ knowledge and skills in creating and implementing Wordwall-based learning media. Teachers found the media easy to use, flexible, and effective in enhancing students’ learning motivation and participation. This program is expected to serve as a model for digital skills training for teachers in other schools, especially in areas with limited access to technology training.

Abstract

Tempeh is one of Indonesia's traditional foods that holds high nutritional value and significant economic potential, especially when managed by Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). This community service activity focused on the development of local tempeh businesses in Lemba Harapan Village, South Dampal District, Tolitoli Regency, to enhance MSME capacity through strengthening product identity and utilizing social media as a means of digital promotion. The implementation method employed a participatory and educational approach, including field surveys, label design, technical assistance in label application, and training on social media management. The results of the activity showed that business actors successfully developed a product identity in the form of business labels and logos, acquired basic skills in branding, and utilized social media to expand their marketing reach. Furthermore, the active involvement of business owners in each stage of the activity indicated increased motivation and independence in developing their businesses. This initiative has had a positive impact on strengthening the competitiveness of local tempeh businesses. The simple yet targeted mentoring model can be replicated in other micro-enterprises as a strategy to support MSME empowerment and sustainable rural economic development.
