Abstract

The digital transformation has become a fundamental driver of change across all economic sectors, particularly in the service sector, which relies heavily on human capital and information technology. This study aims to explore the implications of digital transformation on labor productivity in the service sector in Indonesia. A mixed-method approach was employed, combining quantitative analysis of secondary productivity data from BPS (2015–2023) with qualitative interviews of 20 professionals across finance, health, and education sectors. The findings reveal a positive correlation between the adoption of digital technologies—such as cloud computing, digital workflow systems, and AI tools—and labor productivity, although the benefits vary across subsectors. However, the study also highlights challenges, including skills mismatches and uneven digital infrastructure. The results suggest that while digital transformation can significantly enhance productivity, it must be supported by continuous workforce upskilling and inclusive policy frameworks. The study contributes to the literature by providing sector-specific insights into the digital transition and offering recommendations for improving labor efficiency through strategic digital adoption.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors influencing women’s participation in the local economy in underdeveloped regions. As a group with significant potential to drive economic growth, women often face challenges in actively participating in economic sectors, particularly in areas with limited infrastructure and access. Factors such as education, culture, access to economic resources, and government policies play a significant role in shaping the level of women’s participation. This research employs a quantitative approach through surveys conducted among women engaged in economic activities in several underdeveloped regions of Indonesia. The findings indicate that educational attainment, family support, and the availability of economic empowerment programs are the dominant factors that enhance women’s participation. Conversely, conservative cultural norms and limited access to business capital constitute the main obstacles. Therefore, more inclusive policies are needed to address these barriers and to encourage women in underdeveloped areas to become more active in the local economy. This study provides recommendations for the government and relevant stakeholders in designing programs that support women’s economic empowerment.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the perceptions of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) regarding the impact of social media on the development of their businesses. Social media has become a highly influential platform for the marketing of products and services, enabling MSME actors to reach a wider market at relatively low cost. The method used in this study is a survey combined with in-depth interviews with MSME actors in several regions to explore their views on the use of social media as a tool for marketing and business development. The findings indicate that most MSME actors perceive social media as having a positive impact, such as increased visibility, network expansion, and higher sales. However, there are also challenges related to limited human resources and technical skills in managing social media effectively. This study concludes that social media plays a significant role in supporting MSME business growth, although some obstacles still need to be addressed in order to maximize its impact. Therefore, further training and support are required for MSME actors in leveraging social media for their business development.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the determinants of the wage gap between workers with disabilities and non-disabled workers in Jakarta in 2024. The wage gap is understood as the difference in income levels influenced by social, economic, and job-related factors. The research employs a quantitative approach using primary data collected through surveys and interviews with 300 respondents consisting of both workers with disabilities and those without disabilities. Multiple linear regression analysis was applied to identify variables affecting wage levels. The findings reveal a significant difference in the average monthly income between the two groups of workers. Education, work experience, type of occupation, and access to professional training were identified as the key determinants influencing this wage gap. The results also indicate that indirect discrimination remains a challenge in the labor market, where workers with disabilities tend to be concentrated in the informal sector with relatively low wages. This study highlights the importance of inclusive policies and needs-based skills training programs to reduce the wage gap in Jakarta. The findings are expected to serve as a reference for policymakers, educational institutions, and the business sector in promoting fair and equitable employment opportunities.
