Abstract

Buton Regency is in Southeast Sulawesi, with a society that is thick with culture and traditions that have been passed down from generation to generation. However, along with technological developments, it has affected the interest of the Buton people in preserving local culture, especially in the younger generation who are starting to not care about local cultural values. The problem is, currently there is no place for the community of cultural activities and the place for the development of Butonese culture. One of the efforts to maintain local cultural values is the need for a forum for cultural actors and the development of local culture, in the form of a cultural center building, which can also be used as a tourism support facility in Buton district. The purpose of this study is to develop a cultural center building design concept in Buton district with a traditional architectural transformation approach. This approach is intended so that the traditional values of Butonese are realized in the architecture of the cultural center building, which can be a historical moment of traditional Buton architecture. The research method uses descriptive analytical methods, by uncovering existing data and analyzing it with the traditional Buton architectural transformation concept. The resulting design concept is a transformation of traditional architecture which is applied to: the mass layout; spatial patterns of Malige traditional houses; philosophy of mass forms; ornaments; and structures in the Malige Buton traditional house buildings.

The method uses mix methods that include case study method and field survey method. The results of this study indicate that the public spaces that are mostly used by women around their residential areas are neighborhood roads, markets, stalls, sports fields, and parks. The most usage of public space in residential areas is for necessary activities, such as: shopping; going to work; going to school, and social activities, such as: meeting and chatting with neighbors; and playing with children. Abstract

This study investigates the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) as a construction education technique on a campus setting. The planning, design, and project management processes are more accurate and efficient because to the growing use of BIM in the construction sector. However, there could be a number of problems and challenges when using BIM among students and teachers on a college campus. A literature analysis and questionnaires were employed in this study to gather information from students at one of Yogyakarta universities. The information covered students' understanding of BIM, their practical experience with it, and their perspectives on its advantages and disadvantages in the educational process. According to the study's findings, nearly all of college students are familiar with BIM. The survey also highlighted a number of obstacles that prevent the use of BIM on campuses, including a lack of infrastructure and resources, a curriculum that isn't properly integrated with BIM, and access issues for BIM software. The research also looked at the potential for creating OpenBIM as a way to improve teamwork and flexibility when using BIM on campuses. The adoption of BIM on campuses can have a substantial positive impact on students' readiness for a work market that is becoming more and more digitized and technologically focused.

Abstract

Jodipan Tourism Village (KWJ) is the first colorful tourist village in Malang City. The formation of KWJ stems from the initiative of a group of students working together with PT. Indana and the local community to create a better environment for Jodipan Tourism Village. This village used to be a slum settlement which is now transformed into a colorful village that attracts the attention of local and foreign tourists. Increasing the function of the village as a tourist attraction apart from providing economic and social benefits for local residents, also affects their daily lives. In dealing with these changes, there is the role of social participation of local residents to maintain the sustainability of the tourism function and their own survival. This research uses literature review, interview, and descriptive data analysis methods to explore the social participation of residents in the development of Kampung Warna-Warni Jodipan before revitalization, after revitalization, and now. The results showed that the form of social participation of the citizens was influenced by the conditions and problems faced at that time and was a form of adaptation to the new environment that was formed. With residents carrying out social participation, residents can improve the economy because of tourism activities in Jodipan Colorful Village.

Abstract

The topic of global environmental crisis comes up wherever and whenever, along with the worldwide environmental catastrophe in Indonesia, one of which is in Jakarta. This issue eventually led to the concept of green architecture to minimize new resources and save energy, creating a healthy and comfortable environment for its users. GBCI, an organization that evaluates whether a building fulfills the requirements for a green building using the Greenship grading system, is the foundation of the principles of implementing the concept of green architecture. Sequis Center, an office building in Senayan, South Jakarta's Sudirman Central Business District, is one of the buildings in Indonesia that achieved a gold grade in Greenship certification. Sequis Center uses the concept of environmentally friendly buildings through energy saving. This research uses a qualitative method by collecting data through literature studies, direct field observations, and analyzing the principles according to the concept of green architecture. Based on the conclusions of this research, the Sequis Center promotes sustainable environmental ecosystems by utilizing the green architecture concept. The results of this analysis can be added value to the building and are expected to increase knowledge about global warming that can be generated from buildings and activities in them.
