Abstract

According to many Jewish, Christian, and Hindu opponents of Islam, Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam (The Last and Final Prophet of Islam - Peace Be Upon Him) was a sexual pervert and incestuous father-in-law because he married his cousin and adopted son’s wife called Hazrat Zaynab bint Jahsh (ra). Many Muslim Scholars, Ulemas, Mawlanas, and Clerics have refuted such a blasphemous allegation through the statement that the marriage of Hazrat Zaynab bint Jahsh (ra) with Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu Alayhi Wa Sallam (The Last and Final Prophet of Islam - Peace Be Upon Him) occurred due to a Divine Revelation from ALLAH, The Most Merciful and Most Gracious as stipulated in Surah Al-Ahzab 33:37, 33:38, and 33:39 of The Glorious Quran.

Abstract

The accommodation of Islamic culture in Indonesia is a process of adjustment and harmonization between Islamic teachings and local traditions that already exist in society. Islam in Indonesia is not present in a rigid manner, but is able to adapt to local culture as long as it does not conflict with Islamic law. For example, the Batak martolog tradition honors the dead, and there are also earth alms and sea alms traditions that combine elements of religion and elements of environmental preservation. This process allows Islam to be widely accepted and coexist harmoniously with local culture, enriching religious practices while maintaining the community's cultural identity. This accommodation is also reflected in the distinctive traditions, arts, languages and social patterns of various regions in Indonesia. Thus, Islamic cultural accommodation not only strengthens the faith of the ummah, but also builds tolerance and social cohesion in a plural and multicultural society.

Abstract

This paper looks at the historical contributions of Khaliq Ahmad Nizami, one of the most significant Indian Muslim scholars of the twentieth century. His writings on Indo-Islamic history, especially Sufism and Muslim political institutions, are essential in Islamic studies. By examining Nizami’s important texts, this study explores how his way of writing Islamic history combines ethical, spiritual, and interpretive aspects. These aspects challenge the prevailing secular or orientalist views often found in postcolonial South Asian history. The paper argues that Nizami’s approach does more than just record events. It seeks to recover the moral and intellectual energy of Islamic traditions through careful readings of Persian sources, biographies, and political stories. Using a qualitative, interpretive method, the research emphasizes Nizami’s focus on Sufi ideals like ikhlāṣ (sincerity) and adab (moral behavior) as significant historical forces. This highlights the ethical actions of Muslim individuals in medieval India. While recognizing the limits of his focus and geographical range, the study confirms that Nizami’s ideas remain important for today’s discussions in Islamic history. It wraps up with suggestions for future research that could expand on Nizami’s work, creating more spiritually sensitive and ethically based stories about Islamic history.

Abstract

This article examines Ibn Khaldun’s educational thought through an exploration of his biography, intellectual background, and the theoretical framework underlying his ideas on educational objectives, curriculum, and teaching methods. The study reveals that Ibn Khaldun’s life journey divided into four significant periods had a profound influence on the development of his intellectual outlook, particularly during his period of isolation (‘uzlah), which resulted in the composition of Muqaddimah, a foundational work in social and educational thought. According to Ibn Khaldun, education has multidimensional aims: developing intellectual capacity, enhancing social quality, and perfecting spirituality. The curriculum he formulated encompasses linguistic sciences, transmitted (naqlī) sciences, and rational (‘aqlī) sciences, all arranged proportionally and adaptively in response to social change. Meanwhile, his proposed teaching methodology emphasizes a gradual learning process, avoidance of indoctrination, and rejection of any form of coercion in education. This study concludes that Ibn Khaldun’s educational thought is comprehensive, systematic, and highly relevant to the development of modern Islamic education, as it emphasizes habituation, guidance, and holistic personality formation.

Abstract

Islam is a broad and comprehensive religion that continues to evolve to meet the demands of the modern world. Muslims today face new challenges and opportunities in a society shaped by technology, global relations, and diversity. This journal examines how Islam, which represents a collection of ideas and ways of life, addresses contemporary issues such as democracy, human rights, gender equality, the environment, and technological advancement. With a comprehensive analytical approach, this study shows how Islam is flexible and remains key in overcoming modern problems while maintaining its basic principles. The integration of Islamic principles with the demands of the modern world is highly dependent on the concepts of ijtihad, maqasid sharia, and wasathiyyah (moderation). The results of this study indicate the need for a new interpretation of modern Islam that continues to respect its basic values, as well as the need for dialogue between tradition and contemporary society to create a progressive and inclusive Islamic society.
