Abstract

This research examines the contribution of zakat and waqf in supporting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Muslim-majority countries. Islamic philanthropy, through zakat and waqf, has great potential to reduce poverty, improve health and education, and promote gender equality and environmental sustainability. The research method uses a systematic literature review approach by applying PRISMA guidelines to identify and analyze relevant articles. The research results show that zakat and waqf not only fulfill religious obligations but also play an important role in sustainable socio-economic development. The implications of this research emphasize the importance of improving transparency, governance and infrastructure to optimize the contribution of zakat and waqf to achieving the SDGs.

Abstract

Islamic art and architecture is a rich expression that reflects a close connection with Islamic aesthetic values, symbolism and cultural heritage. This research aims to understand the evolution of symbolism in Islamic art and architecture, as well as how this symbolism influences aesthetic perceptions and cultural meaning throughout history and in various geographic regions. Using the PRISMA method to select articles from various international databases, this study analyzes the transformation of symbolism in a dynamic historical and cultural context. The research results show that symbolism in Islamic art not only functions as a decorative element but also as a medium for conveying cultural identity, religious values, and regional variations. This research provides new insights that enrich understanding of Islamic art and architecture and its implications for cultural studies more broadly.

Abstract

The zakat distribution model in modern Islamic finance faces significant challenges in the era of digitalization, especially related to efficiency, transparency and trust. This research aims to identify the main challenges in implementing the zakat distribution model in the digital financial era using a systematic literature review approach. This method involves a systematic analysis of relevant literature to evaluate the effectiveness of both traditional and digital-based zakat distribution models. The research findings reveal that, although digital technology offers great potential to increase transparency and efficiency, challenges such as lack of user trust and transparency in reporting still need to be overcome. The implications of this research include the need to reform the zakat distribution model to integrate digital technology and improve governance, with the hope of maximizing the impact of zakat in poverty alleviation and sustainable development. This research provides important insights for policy makers and practitioners to design zakat distribution strategies that are more adaptive and responsive to the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to explore and analyze the comparative effects of Islamic spirituality on mental health and well-being by considering differences by age group and gender. Using a systematic literature review approach, this study examines various literature to identify and assess the impact of Islamic spirituality on various demographics. The results showed that Islamic spirituality had a significant effect on mental health and well-being, with marked differences by age and gender. For adolescents, Islamic spirituality contributes to increased self-identity, stress management, and reduced anxiety. Young adults experience increased social support and resilience, while older adults experience calm, life satisfaction, and reduced loneliness. From a gender perspective, men show increased self-control and emotional management, while women experience improved emotional and social well-being. These findings provide valuable insights for the development of Islamic spirituality-based interventions and mental health policies, and open opportunities for further research in this area.
