Abstract

This research aims to find answers to iddat for women in Islamic jurisprudence, followed by iddat for husbands in fiqh literature, from a gender perspective. In this study, the researcher used a literature review method, with a qualitative descriptive approach. Iddat is a consequence of divorce, which occurs when love turns into hatred, anger, disappointment, and so on. This often leads to quarrels culminating in divorce or talak. Despite divorce being highly disliked by Allah SWT, the principle of marriage in Islam is to establish relationships for an indefinite period. The terminology of iddat existed before the advent of Islam, but the practice of iddat at that time was highly inhumane. In Islamic legal sources, iddat is considered an obligation that must be fulfilled by women. When analyzed through a gender lens, it is clear that iddat discriminates against women when husbands are not subjected to it, as women equally contribute to the advancement of religion and the state. In essence, iddat for husbands has been introduced by scholars in fiqh literature, albeit limited to two conditions. Therefore, fiqh, as a representation of Islamic law, needs to be reviewed to be in synergy with the social conditions of society. This is in line with the principle that legal changes are caused by changing situations and conditions. While the implementation of iddat for husbands currently applies generally, it is a primary necessity with two balanced benefits, both vertical and horizontal. Considering that iddat for husbands is not clearly covered in Islamic legal sources, the normative basis (the Quran and Hadith) used is the universal aspect of meaning contained in both sources.

Abstract

This study investigated the impact of Qur'anic learning on the development of Islamic character among second-semester students at STIT Palapa Nusantara. Using a quantitative approach with a correlational survey design, the research examined the relationship between participation in Qur'anic learning and character development. The sample comprised 25 students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected via a 30-item closed-ended questionnaire, and both descriptive and inferential statistical analyses were conducted. The results showed an average participation score of 4.2 and an average character development score of 4.5. A Pearson correlation test revealed a significant positive correlation (r = 0.67, p = 0.001), indicating that greater participation in Qur'anic learning was associated with enhanced Islamic character development. These findings supported the hypothesis that active engagement in Qur'anic learning positively contributed to character development. The study underscored the importance of integrating Qur'anic values into educational practices, suggesting that effective Qur'anic education can significantly influence students' moral and ethical growth. The results have practical implications for curriculum development and teaching methods in Islamic higher education, emphasizing the role of participatory religious learning in shaping character. Future research should address the study's limitations, such as the small sample size and the need for qualitative insights, to further explore the effects of Qur'anic education on character development.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of Qur'an-based mathematics instruction on conceptual understanding among fourth-grade students at MI Darul Qur'an Al Hasan NW Peresak. Addressing a gap in the literature, the research evaluates how integrating Qur'anic values into mathematics teaching affects student comprehension and engagement. A quasi-experimental design was employed, involving 15 students randomly assigned to an experimental group (n=8) and a control group (n=7). The experimental group received Qur'an-based mathematics instruction, while the control group followed conventional methods. Pre-test and post-test scores were collected to measure changes in understanding, and statistical analysis was conducted using a t-test. The results indicate that the experimental group significantly improved their average post-test scores from 65 to 85, compared to a modest increase from 64 to 70 in the control group. The t-test revealed a t-value of 4.25, exceeding the critical t-value of 2.14, confirming a statistically significant difference. Qualitative data from interviews and classroom observations revealed enhanced student motivation and engagement in the experimental group, as they found the Qur'an-based approach more relevant and engaging. These findings suggest that integrating religious values into the curriculum can significantly improve conceptual understanding and student motivation in mathematics. The study highlights the potential of Qur'an-based teaching methods in enhancing educational outcomes and provides a basis for implementing similar approaches in other educational contexts.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the bamboo dance cooperative learning model on improving students' learning outcomes in the Fiqih subject for class VIII at MTs Nurul Ihsan NW Tanjung Luar for the 2017/2018 academic year. This research was an experimental study. The population includes all class VIII students of MTs Nurul Ihsan NW Tanjung Luar, which consists of three classes, but only two classes were selected as samples. The sample was chosen using the cluster random sampling technique, where two classes were randomly selected and assigned, with class VIII-A as the experimental group and class VIII-C as the control group. The experimental group was taught using the bamboo dance cooperative learning model, while the control group used conventional methods. Students' pretest data were collected using a test method. The collected data were then analyzed using statistical techniques, specifically the t-test formula. Based on the data analysis, the calculated t-value was 6.959, while the t-table value at a 5% significance level with degrees of freedom (df) = 20+20-2 = 38 was 5.213. This indicates that the t-value is greater than the t-table value (6.959 > 5.213). Thus, it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of the bamboo dance cooperative learning model on improving students' learning outcomes in the FIQIH subject for class VIII at MTs Nurul Ihsan NW Tanjung Luar for the 2017/2018 academic year.

Abstract

Religious education, particularly the teaching of Qur'an Hadith, plays a crucial role in shaping students' character and morals in junior high school. However, in this digital era, the challenge lies in increasing students' interest and motivation to learn. This study aims to explore the impact of technology use in Qur'an Hadith teaching on the learning motivation of 8th-grade students at MTs NW Tanjung Luar. This research used a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational design to identify the relationship between technology use and students' learning motivation levels. The sample consists of 120 purposively selected 8th-grade students. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire measuring students' learning motivation and their perceptions of technology use in Qur'an Hadith classes. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive and correlational statistics with the aid of SPSS software. The study results reveal a significant positive correlation (r = 0.58) between the use of technology in Qur'an Hadith teaching and students' learning motivation. This indicates that as technology is more frequently used in teaching, students' motivation to learn increases. The findings also note that while technology use in Qur'an Hadith teaching is at a moderate level, its impact on learning motivation is substantial. The integration of technology in Qur'an Hadith teaching can enhance students' learning motivation, making the learning experience more interactive and relevant. The practical implication of this study highlights the importance of optimal technology application in Qur'an Hadith education to improve learning quality. Further research is needed to explore the most effective types of technology and the optimal ways to implement them.
