Abstract

This study aims to describe the rejection of formal education by the Sedulur Sikep community. This study uses James Scott's theory of resistance to describe the forms and characteristics of resistance to formal education in Sedulur Sikep Kudus. This study employed qualitative research methods with an ethnographic approach to obtain data on community resistance to formal education. The data collection was carried out using interviews, observation, and documentation. The results revealed that the forms of resistance carried out by the Sedulur Sikep Kudus community were closed forms of resistance. It can be interpreted as a conscious rejection of formal education through less systematic procedures. They consistently refuse to engage in formal education due to their commitment to upholding their ancestral traditions and teachings. Also, they harbor doubts about work-oriented formal education. Furthermore, the educational values taught by the Sedulur Sikep community align with Islamic educational values. This study limits its focus on the portrait of the Sedulur Sikep community's rejection of formal education and the relevance of Islamic educational values to the educational values of Sedulur Sikep Kudus. Consequently, further research is needed to complete this study.

Abstract

This study aimed to test two main hypotheses regarding bullying in schools. The first hypothesis was that male and female students significantly differed in bullying behavior. The second hypothesis was that school climate significantly influenced bullying. This article used a quantitative design to examine gender and school climate differences in student bullying behavior. Data were obtained through the scale of school climate and bullying. The subjects were 150 (75 males and 75 females) Islamic junior high school students in East Java. The data were analyzed using variance analysis and regression analysis. The results exhibited a difference between males and females in terms of bullying. School climate affected bullying, both overall and in every aspect. Among the five aspects of school climate tested, only student relations had a significant negative effect on bullying. This study indicates that student relations are crucial in bullying and recommends specific interventions to improve safety and inclusivity.

Abstract

This article investigates the influence of madrasah principal leadership on the madrasah teachers' teaching performance in the digital era. The study used a quantitative approach, and the survey method involved 124 respondents randomly selected from seven madrasahs in Jepara, Indonesia, based on cluster techniques. The results revealed that the F-test obtained F-statistic> F-table (39.824 > 3.07) and significance (0.000 < 0.05), indicating that the leadership of the madrasah principal exerted a positive and significant influence on the madrasah teacher's performance. The coefficient of determination test results exhibited an R Square (R2) value of 0.240, meaning that teacher teaching performance is influenced by the leadership variable of the madrasah principal by 24% and 76% by other variables. These findings provide a foundation for understanding the critical role of madrasah principal leadership in improving teacher-teaching performance. Further research is recommended to consider the factors affecting teaching performance and expansion.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of Islamic religious education learning and peers on students' spiritual Quotient and the mediating role of Islamic extracurriculars in the relationship between the two variables. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a survey method to examine the construction of students' spiritual Quotient variables. This study used a purposive sampling. The data collection technique was carried out through a questionnaire with four variables using a Likert scale. The results showed that Islamic religious education learning has a positive but insignificant influence on students' Spiritual Quotient. On the other hand, peers and Islamic extracurriculars have a positive and significant influence on spiritual Quotient. The implications of the study show that Islamic religious learning needs to be supported by extracurricular activities and religious programs in schools. Research recommendations include strengthening extracurricular programs, regular monitoring, and increasing the involvement of learners who do not participate in extracurricular activities. This is expected to improve the overall spiritual Quotient of all learners.

Abstract

This research aims to explore Islamic education from the Quranic perspective in the context of multiculturalism. The primary issue addressed is integrating Quranic values such as tolerance, brotherhood, and justice into an inclusive and relevant Islamic education in today's globalized era. The research method employed is library research, with the primary sources being the Quran and relevant tafsir, along with secondary literature from books, journals, and related materials. The findings reveal that the Quranic perspective provides a strong foundation for multicultural Islamic education by emphasizing the importance of tolerance, brotherhood, and justice. These values can be implemented through the integration of multicultural concepts into the curriculum, the development of inclusive teaching strategies, teacher training, and community participation in the education process. This research contributes to the development of educational strategies that support diversity, creating a fairer and more peaceful society. The significance of this research lies in its potential to shape a more relevant and adaptive Islamic education system amidst the complexities of a diverse global society.
