Abstract

The purpose of writing this article is to scrutinize the curriculum and learning methods in pesantren (Islamic boarding school)-based madrasahs in order to accomplish tafaqquh fi ad-din for students. This article also aims to identify the portion and balance between religious and general materials in the applied curriculum structure. In addition, this study explores the learning methods employed and their effectiveness in reinforcing an in-depth understanding of religion. The locus of the research is in Madrasah Aliyah Qudsiyyah Putri, a pesantren based madrasah. The approach used is qualitative with a case study design and descriptive analysis type. Data collection techniques encompass observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings of the study show that Madrasah Aliyah Qudsiyyah Putri creates a balanced curriculum between religious and general education, which seeks to produce graduates who are intellectually intelligent and have noble morals. By integrating modern approaches, yellow books, and technology, this pesantren shapes students who are ready to face the challenges of the times and become agents of social change.

Abstract

While offering the advantage of addressing complex problems, interdisciplinary researchers still face a range of significant challenges. This study investigates graduate students' motivations and challenges in conducting interdisciplinary Islamic research. This study employed a quantitative survey method using a Likert-scale questionnaire distributed to 106 purposively master's and doctoral students elected at Graduate School of UIN Jakarta, with data analyzed through descriptive statistics. The study found that the primary motivation for students to conduct interdisciplinary research in Islamic studies is the desire to solve complex societal problems, followed by the pursuit of practical solutions and self development, while the motivation for obtaining funding or advancing academic careers rank lowest. Students face challenges, such as differences in scientific disciplines, limited methodological grasp, and knowledge gaps with lecturers and peers. This research contributes to enhance academic curricula and institutional support for fostering effective interdisciplinary research in Muslim-majority contexts.

Abstract

The taxonomy-based mechanistic approach in learning Islamic Religious Education and Character Education (PAI BP) risks reducing religiosity to mere ritual formalities, thereby hindering the growth of authentic, reflective, and transformative spiritual experiences. Therefore, it is necessary  to develop a taxonomy that establishes the dimension of attitudes in PAI BP learning with a formulation that is not complex but rather simple and applicable. This research used a systematic literature review, specifically the PAI BP textbook, the PAI BP Teacher and Student Books, published by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, which were analyzed objectively and systematically, and conclusions were drawn. This study offers the Three Spiritual Taxonomies in PAI BP learning. This taxonomy divides spirituality into three dimensions: understanding with the operational verb "explain," appreciating with the operational verb "feel," and practicing with the operational verb "do."

Abstract

The partnership between schools and parents plays a significant role in creating a conducive learning environment, fostering an enjoyable atmosphere both at school and at home. This study investigates the impact of school-parent partnerships on enhancing student achievement, utilizing a qualitative case approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. Two key findings about the school-parent partnership at SD Plus Muhammadiyah 1 Waru were identified. First, the school involves parents through various communication mechanisms: routine meetings, parenting sessions, home visits, parent associations, social media for information and communication, school committee engagement, violation control cards, daily monitoring books, and formal letters. Second, parents respond to school programs by integrating school and home learning activities, attending school events, providing necessary information during teacher visits, staying updated through social media, actively participating in communication groups, and monitoring student activities through the provided tools. The collaboration and synergy between school and home learning activities contribute significantly to fostering a positive and effective learning environment for students. This study will show other schools how important structured parent-school partnerships are, especially when combined with culturally relevant approaches. They will provide a replicable framework for improving student learning outcomes and professional school management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the Rimpu culture as a means of instilling Islamic character values in students at Madrasah Aliyah environment. The location of the study was at the Madrasah Aliyah in Bima City, West Nusa Tenggara. This study used a descriptive qualitative method with data collection using observation, interview, and documentation instruments. The collection technique was carried out in four stages, namely: data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and verification (drawing conclusions). The results of this study indicated that the application of local culture to instill the Islamic character values is still rarely used in the Madrasah Aliyah environment. In this case, the Rimpu culture can be an effective means for optimizing the instillation of Islamic character values at Madrasah Aliyah environment. The Rimpu culture is a traditional dress of the Bima community which is worn to cover the entire body. The Islamic values covered by the Rimpu culture are such as; obedience to Allah's commands, the obligation to cover the genitals, politeness and shame, as well as simplicity and sincerity. The instillation of Rimpu cultural values in the Madrasah Aliyah environment can be done by integrating it into the education curriculum, extracurricular activities, holding religious and cultural events, and schools making policies that support Rimpu culture in instilling Islamic character values in students  at Madrasah Aliyah environment.
