The purpose of TheLast Song written by Nicholas Sparks review are explains the theme and the struggle ofthe main character as the strength of the novel, and the weakness. Based on the review,the novel has theme about the affection for God, Family members, friends, and nature.Affection is something beautiful. Someone is getting affection to get happiness. Thisnovel has the struggle of a main character that is a struggle from father to reconcile hisrelationship with his daughter. On the other hand, the weakness from this novel is aboutthe song finished by main character, the readers may be disappointed with the endingfrom this novel. There is no detail or description about the lyrics and intonation about thatsong. The Last Song is a suitable novel read by people who wants to struggle and to haveaffection in daily life. It reminds the readers of the truly important things in life and givesthe readers a look at love, joy, peace, patience and kindness.]]>

<![CDATA[Essai ini disusun untuk mempelajari lebih mendalam tentang pemertahanan Bahasa Karo di komunitas Permata Semarang. Topik yang diambil penulis adalah alasan anggota Permata masih menggunakan Bahasa Karo saat berkumpul atau berkomunikasi dengan sesama etnis Batak Karo di Semarang.Penulis menggunakan pendekatan sosiolinguistik untuk menyusun dan mengolah data yang berupa alasan anggota Permata masih mempertahankan ataupun menggunakan Bahasa Karo saat berkomunikasi dengan teman sebaya ataupun dengan yang lebih tua dari mereka. Sementara metode studi yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode observasi, kuisioner serta interview 45 anggota Permata dari 180 anggota Permata. Sedangkan untuk metode analisis data, penulis menggunakan metode padan, yaitu penulis mencoba memadankan teori yang digunakan dengan data yang dianalisis.Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa ada kepadanan antara teori Sosiolinguistik yang digunakan untuk menganalisis data, sehingga rumusan masalah dalam studi ini dapat terjawab dengan hasil analisis. Selain itu, hasil studi juga menunjukkan bahwa empat puluh lima anggota komunitas Permata Semarang masih dan tetap menggunakan Bahasa Karo saat mereka berkomunikasi di gereja atau pun dalam kegiatan Permata.]]>

<![CDATA[Mario Teguh, sebagai seorang motivator, tentunya memiliki banyakstrategi dalam berkomunikasi dengan penonton.Berbagai pilihan kata yangdigunakan adalah strategi untuk menyampaikan informasi dan pesan kepadapenonton. Salah satu strategi dalam berkomunikasi yang ia lakukan adalah denganpra anggapan (presupposition). Penulis tertarik untuk menganalisis presuppositionini karena setiap orang melakukan komunikasi setiap hari. Penelitian ini termasukdalam penelitian pragmatik yaitu Pragmatic Presupposition. Metode yangdigunakan dalam mengumpulkan data adalah metode simak bebas libat cakapkemudian data dianalisis dengan metode padan pragmatik. Hasil penelitianmenunjukkan bahwa Mario Teguh menggunakan 6 presupposition oleh Yuledalam berkomunikasi yaitu factive presupposition, existensial presupposition, nonfactive presupposition, lexical presupposition, structural presupposition, dancounterfactual presupposition. Dalam penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwaMario Teguh menggunakan shared knowledgeuntuk memotivati penonton.]]>

<![CDATA[Dalam penulisan sebuah berita olahraga, wartawan sering menggunakan bahasa kiasan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengklasifikasikan dan mendeskripsikan makna metafora yang digunakan dalam judul berita olahraga di harian surat kabar Jawa Pos. Metafora adalah gaya bahasa yang membandingkan dua hal yang berbeda. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif, karena mendeskripsikan makna metafora yang terdapat dalam judul berita olahraga. Dengan menggunakan purposive sampling, penulis memilih sepuluh judul berita olahraga yang mengandung metafora konseptual; menurut Lakoff dan Johnson (1980), metafora konseptual adalah metafora yang merefleksikan apa yang kita alami, kita rasakan, dan kita pikirkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Dari hasil analisis, saya menemukan jenis metafora konseptual, berupa metafora struktural, orientasional, dan ontologikal. Jenis metafora konseptual yang banyak digunakan oleh wartawan adalah metafora orientasional. Gaya bahasa, khususnya metafora, banyak digunakan oleh wartawan untuk membuat judul berita olahraga menjadi lebih menarik. ]]>

<![CDATA[This thesis relates to appraisal system in news item. It is aimed at describing evaluative language used by journalists. Two news items from the different source exposing the sametopic, that is, the world‟s reaction on Hashimoto‟s comments dealing with the justification ofsex slavery practice by Japanese soldiers in World War II, are analysed based on attitude,amplification and source aspects. It is qualitative research. The method of collecting dataapplied is non-participant observation since the researcher is not involved in producingutterances being studied. Referential identity method is applied in analyzing. The resultshows that negative attitude and amplification are dominant. In addition, the assessments insource aspect are predominated by that of from other than the journalists. Moreover, themodality coming from other than the journalists they are careful in giving additional voice.On the contrary, the presence of concession indicates additional voice of the journalists. <![CDATA[Every human has aspirations hopes, and purposes to reach in their lives. Sometimes people break the norm, ethic, rule, and law to reach their ambition. The purpose of this study is to analyze Carlo Ventresca in Dan Brown’s Angels&Demons in his efforts to reach his ambition to become a pope. His ambition leads to destruction to other people and also for himself. This study uses library research and psychological approach in the analysis of this novel. Carlo Ventresca has conflicts within himself and against other people. His efforts to reach his ambition include breaking the law and moral ethics. He even kills. However he fails to reach his ambition and finally commits suicide. His ambition leads to destruction to people around him, the church, the public and even himself. He experiences moral, mental, and physical destructions. Unrestrained ambition by the bad ways will result the failure and leads to destruction.]]>

<![CDATA[Novel that became a study in this final project is the last song titled essay writer from United States, Nicholas Sparks. This novel tells the story of love and affection between a daughter and her father who was not good at beginning. The writer uses to read carefully to find the message in the book which contained many elements of learning. Authors describe the theme, the advantages and disadvantages from novel The Last Song. This novel have a main theme of father and daughter as well and minor story of teen romance.The main advantage of this novel on the theme is life that should valuable, trust and confidence, to forgive and be mature, passionate main character especially in music and love. However, not only the theme, but the author used words that are easy to understand, and easy to explain the characters in the novel. The lacked only drawback of the book's appearance does not match with the content of the novel. Dari bermacam-macam jenis novel, novel fantasi merupakan salah satu alternatif bagi para pembaca, terutama kaum remaja. Banyaknya novel fantasi yang beredar dewasa ini menuntut penulis untuk menciptakan ide cerita yang lebih segar dan tidak biasa untuk menarik perhatian para pembaca. The Adventure of Wanara Trilogy: Garuda Riders, salah satu novel fantasi yang ditulis oleh seorang dosen muda bernama Adhicipta Raharja Wirawan ini menyuguhkan jalan cerita yang unik dan menarik. Kekuatan dari novel ini tidak hanya terdapat pada jalan ceritanya yang berbeda, tetapi juga dari pesan moral, gaya bahasa, humor yang menggelitik, dan sudut pandang yang tidak biasa. Terlepas dari kekuatan-kekuatan tersebut, The Adventure of Wanara Trilogy: Garuda Riders juga memiliki beberapa kelemahan, antara lain kurangnya perhatian penulis terhadap tokoh-tokoh pembantu di dalam cerita . Dengan adanya kekuatan dan kelemahan tersebut, para pembaca diajak untuk menjadi pembaca yang cerdas dalam menelaah setiap informasi yang tertuang di sepanjang jalan cerita.]]>

<![CDATA[This book review analyzes the strengths and weakness of David Nicholls’s One Day. One Day is a novel that tells the story about a man and woman who actually loves each other, but they never shows it up for about 20years because of their prestige feeling. This review explores the strengths and the weakness of David Nicholls’s One Day by inspecting elements namely characters, setting, and conflict. To review the novel, the writer use intrinsic theory such as characters, settings, and conflict. In addition, the writer use close reading method to analyze this novel. I choose this novel, because this novel has strengths that make it as a good reading. The strengths inside the novel are characters and conflict. In this novel each character has a different characteristic and is highly contrasted, it makes the story more exciting and not boring. On the other hand, the conflict is so strong in this novel. The way Nicholls explains the conflict could make the reader feels what exactly the character’s feel. Even having weakness, this novel is not less the value to be a good reading. One Day is recommended novel to read, because there are many interesting parts of the story that we can enjoy from this novel. Keyword: characters, setting, conflict, strengths, and weakness.]]>
