Tujuan dari penulisan tesis ini adalah untuk menjabarkan formula-formula yang ada pada novel sastra populer. Dalam menganalisis tesis ini, proses pencarian data dan informasi yang mendukung penulisan, penulis menggunakan metode pencarian perpustakaan. Teori yang menjadi pedoman pengerjaan tesis ini adalah teori sastra populer (romansa) oleh John G. Cawelti.. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa novel tersebutmengandung unsur-unsur formula sastra populer yaitu karakter hero dan heroine dan alur kisah percintaan itu terbangun yang menjadi fokusnya dan karakter yang diumpamakan sebagai hero dalam kisah romansa.]]>

<![CDATA[In this thesis, the writer combines the analysis of the two poems written by Percy B. Shelley entitled “Song to the Man of England” and “England in 1819”. The writer analyzes these two poems with the same poet, Percy B. Shelley, because both of the poems are showing the condition of England people in that era. The purposes for the writer to write this thesis are to analyze the intrinsic elements, which is imageries, metaphor, and diction that is reflected in these two poems. The other purpose is to analyze the extrinsic element of the two poems and the condition of people in England during the Romantic Period (1811-1820), which is represented from the two poems in which the writer uses sociological approach and Marxist theory. The research method that the writer uses is contextual research method in which the writer analyzes the intrinsic element and the extrinsic elements of the poems. <![CDATA[This final project is entitled “The Conflict Between The Weis Timelenders Bank and Society in Andrew Niccol`sIn Time.” The aim of this final project is to describe the conflict in In Time`s. This final project adopts Marxist theory of capitalism. The theory is used to figure out the impact of capitalism on the society. The method used in this study is cinematic analysis and textual analysis. To get the data, the writer reads books and took some notes that are related to the topic, both trough the library research and the internet. The conclusion of this final project shows that the working class makes resistances to the capitalist; and the working class needs a freedom to actualize themselves.]]>

<![CDATA[This thesis entitled Analyzing Hegemony: Factions System in Veronica Roth’s Divergent has purpose to analyze the concept of hegemony by Antonio Gramsci and the formula of science fiction in Faction System that happens in a novel entitled Divergent by Veronica Roth. The method that is used in this research is contextual method by analyzing the intrinsic and extrinsic elements of the story through the library research. The analysis of intrinsic elements is used to analyze the formula of science fiction, while the analysis of extrinsic elements is used to apply the concept of hegemony by Antonio Gramsci. The Faction System is a kind of system that controls the life of people in the story. The people are divided into five categories that include five kinds of virtues; there is selflessness, honest, peaceful, intelligent, and fearless. The result of this thesis shows that the author of the novel reveals the two anomalies or the mysteries of the story into linear order. This thesis also concludes that the effect of hegemony that is done by the dominant group in the story causes people to live with the stereotype. The stereotype that is found in each category of people in the Faction System will cause the people to war.The conclusion shows that the Faction System cannot bring peace to society, because there is still discrepancy that creates opposition between people in the story.]]>

Arti fungsional akan membantu pembaca meng-intrepetasikan artikel ini dengan tepat. Untuk menemukan arti fungsional dari setiap klausa dalam artikel ini, penulis menggunakan teori metafunction. Teori metafunction dibagi menjadi tiga bagian yaitu Ideational Meaning, Interpersonal Meaning dan Textual Meaning.]]>

<![CDATA[Academic writing adalah sebuah kegiatan atau aktivitas menulis sebuah karya menggunakan bahasa yang formal dan menggunakan sudut pandang orang ketiga. Academic writing memiliki tiga bagian yang berbeda yaitu pengenalan masalah, isi, dan kesimpulan. Salah satu contoh dari academic writing adalah abstrak. Abstrak merupakan rangkuman/ intisari dari sebuah dokumen yang memiliki lima bagian penting yaitu latar belakang masalah, tujuan, metode, hasil, dan kesimpulan.Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mendeskripsikan kesalahan gramatikal yang dibuat oleh mahasiswa Teknik Sipil, Universitas Diponegoro dalam menyusun abstrak untuk tugas akhir mereka. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menjelaskan tentang faktor terjadinya kesalahan-kesalahan tersebut. Dalam penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah 5 abstrak yang diambil dari tugas akhir yang dibuat oleh mahasiswa Teknik Sipil Undip dari berbagai tahun.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesalahan gramatikal yang terdapat dalam abstrak tersebut adalah berupa Omission, Addition, Misformation, dan Misordering. Hal tersebut dikarenakan oleh beberapa faktor yaitu: carelessness, first language interference, dan translation. Kesalahan yang paling dominan dalam penelitian ini adalah pada kategori Misformation (19 kesalahan) sedangkan kesalahan yang paling sedikit terjadi adalah pada kategori Misordering (1 kesalahan).]]>
