<![CDATA[This extended essay tries to analyze superiority complex from the character of Grace Reed in Huntley Fitzpatrick’s novel My Life Next Door. In writing this paper, the writer uses library researc that is done by reading books, articles, or any written visual documents related to the topics. While in answering questions, the writer tries to analyze intrinsic aspect and extrinsic aspect with Alfred Adler’s individual psychology theory about superiority and inferiority complex. <![CDATA[“Boja Have Skate” is a skateboard community in Boja. Boja is a district in Semarang. The discussion of this thesis is about member’s opinion about “Boja Have Skate” community in Boja. Boja teenagers have experienced the new culture process through skateboard. This research purposes to know about the opinion of “Boja Have Skate” community. Ten members of “Boja Have Skate” are taken as the respondents. The analyze and research use theory of social community and the use of cultural product. The result of the research reveals that community of “Boja Have Skate” is formed because they have the same interest and hobby to play skateboard. At the beginning, the community only has two teenagers who like playing skateboard, they make the other teenagers interested to know and learn about the game. Boja teenagers get the information about skateboard from internet. The community of “Boja Have Skate” chooses the skateboard because they think that the game is challenging, not mainstream, and interesting to follow. Skateboard makes the Boja teenagers able to express their existence, get pleasure and stisfy themselves.]]>

Bill Bryson’s book consists of twenty one chapters that mostly talk about his experience, history and information about Appalachian Trail. In his novel he starts to collect the information about Appalachian Trail from the book and from experts, buy things for hiking and invite hiking companions. Stephen Katz accepted Bryson’s invitation to cross the Appalachian Trail. However, the interesting fact is neither Katz nor Bryson has experience of hiking. Their journey will be their first experience of hiking and they choose the hardest one.]]>

<![CDATA[Dalam penelitian ini, penulis meneliti struktur konstituen dan kaidah struktur frasa dalam Bahasa Indonesia yang diucapkan oleh anak-anak penderita sindrom down. Penulis memilih anak-anak berumur 8 tahun sebagai subjek penelitian karena pada tahap ini anak-anak telah dapat berkomunikasi dan mengucapkan berbagai bentuk frasa. Penulis menggunakan teori X-bar untuk memformulasikan kaidah struktur frasa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menjelaskan jenis-jenis frasa dan aturan struktur frasa yang muncul dalam ucapan anak-anak penderita sindrom down. Penulis menggunakan beberapa studi tentang sintaksis pada bahasa anak yang digunakan sebagai teori pendukung yaitu Galuh (2013), Weinzapfel (2014), dan Oliver (2012). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Metode pengambilan sampel menggunakan“purposive sampling” dan metode simak libat cakap dengan teknik pancing sebagai teknikdasar. Hasil analisis menunjukkan frasa yang muncul dalam ujaran anak-anak sindrom“down”dapat diklasifikasikan kedalam lima struktur konstituen. Kategori-kategori ini meliputi frasa nomina, frasa verba, frasa sifat, frasa penentu, dan frasa inflektif.]]>

<![CDATA[This research deals with the situations and conditions happened in England at the end of the seventeenth century. Based on the fact that there is a relation between history and literature, the writer analyzes the history of industrial revolution in England. The aim of this research is to understand the poem of William Blake entitled “London”. The writer also tries to figure out social problems happened in England reflected in the poem. The writer uses library research as the method of data collection and sociological approach in analyzing the data. By using the library research method, the writer gets many references to write this final project. By using the sociological approach the writer could understand the social context of the poem. The result of this final projectshows that Blake tends to show the impact of industrial revolution and the social condition happened in England through the figurative languages in his poetry. ]]>

Novel ini menceritakan tentang Tuan Twit dan Nyonya Twit yang memiliki wajah, kebiasaan dan perilaku yang buruk. Setiap hari tidak ada yang mereka lalukan selain membuat kejahilan. Mereka pun senang menjebak burung-burung dengan menggunakan lem untuk membuat pie burung dan menyiksa monyet-monyet dengan menyuruhnya berdiri terbalik. Tujuan review final project ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi tema, kelebihan dan kekurangan novel ini. Novel ini memiliki tema tentang moral dan persahabatan. Kelebihan dari novel ini adalah novel ini diceritakan dengan bahasa yang sangat mudah dimengerti, detail karakter yang menarik serta novel ini memiliki pesan yang baik yang dapat diambil oleh para pembaca. <![CDATA[Penelitian ini mengenai apakah identitas yang ingin ditonjolkan calon presiden Republik Indonesia. Data yang di ambil adalah ujaran-ujaran pada baner-baner kampanye yang tersebar di Semarang dan yang bersumber dari internet.Dalam penulisan karya tulis ini, penulis tertarik untuk meneliti makna implikatur dari ujaran-ujaran dalam baner-baner kampanye para calon presiden dan wakil presiden melalui pengkajian makna eksplikatur dan konteksnya.Tujuan penulisan penelitian ini adalah mendapatkan pola identitas yang ingin ditonjolkan oleh pasangan Prabowo-Hatta dan Jokowi-JK serta dengan ujaran macam apa yang mereka pakai dalam menarik para pemilih agar tergerak memilih salah satu pasangan kandidat. Data yang dipakai berupa ujaran yang terdapat dalam baner kampanye calon presiden dengan perbandingan antara Prabowo-Hatta dan Jokowi-JK adalah 9:9. Metode yang dipakai dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif.Metode untuk mengumpulkan data adalah metode simak bebas libat cakap dengan teknik catat..Dalam menganalisi data, penulis menggunakan metode padan dengan teknik identifikasi, teknik translasi dan teknik referensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa untuk mendapatkan makna implikatur dari ujaran pembuat teks, diperluakan dua tahap penelitian terlebih dahulu, yaitu menganalisis makna ekplikatur dari ujaran-ujaran tersebut dan mengaitkan dengan konteks mengapa ujaran tersebut dibuat.Hasilnya, makna implikatur dari ujaran-ujaran tersebut akan mengarahkan pembaca pada identitas yang ingin dibangun oleh kedua kandidatselama periode kampanye kepresidenan dan bagaimana penyikapanantar-kandidat terhadap pesaingnya.]]>

The writer decided to choose Fight Club as final project because it is his favorite novel.
