Abstract

The background of this study is the sales decline of Micro and Small Business Enterprise (MSBE) in Semarang, and the controversy of the research findings about the influences of Entrepreneurial Competence, Market Sensing Capability and Competitive Advantage towards Marketing Performance. The number of sample in this study was 385 Micro and Small Business Enterprise (MSBE) in Semarang, with purposive sampling technique. The questionaires was distributed on March 2015. The data collected from the questionnaires was then processed using multiple regression method.The results of this study show that the two of the independent variables have positive influences to the competitive advantage and market performance. Entrepreneurial competence has the biggest influence to competitive advantage and competitive advantage has the biggest influence to market performance. This results support the previous research that entrepreneurial competence and market-sensing capability has a significant positive influence to competitive advantage and competitive advantage has proven to be an intervening variable to market performance. The conclusion of this study shows that entrepreneurial competence and market-sensing capability has positive and significant influences to competitive advantage and an indirect influence to market performance.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the research gap from previous studies where there is difference result between on study with other studies. This study aimes to analyze the effect of transformational leadership style and compensation to employees satisfaction PT. Hymsa Indotraco Cirebon.The population used in this study were all employees of PT. Hymsa Indotraco numbering 125 people. Based on the calculation formula Slovin, the samples were determined by 95 people. The sampling technique was conducted by the method of proportionate stratified random sampling. The analytical method used is multiple regression analysis. The results of a study reported regression equation as follows: Job Satisfaction = 0,382X1 + 0,376X2.Based on the test instrument, the indicators are valid and reliable. In the classical assumption, there are no symptoms multicoloniarity, does not occur heterocedastity, and normal distribution of data. The coefficient of determination shows the figure of 0,478 which means that the variables of job satisfaction is influenced by variables of transformational leadership style and compensation amounting to 47,3 %. The results showed that transformational leadership style and compensation positive and significant impact on job satisfaction of employees of PT . Hymsa Indotraco Cirebon either partially or simultaneously.

Abstract

Management of railway transportation not only focuses on services and income earned, but also the proper management of human resources. Human resources is an important factor in the success of a company achieve its goals. The success of a company is of course determined by the performance of its employees. Employee performance is strongly influenced by the role of the leader of the transformational leadership style within the company that can inspire employees and who can match its objectives with employee values. Compatibility of individual behavior with organizational culture that is applied to determine the individual's career in the future. The research is also based on the research gap found in previous research between Raed Awamleh (2005), Sapna Rijal (2010) and Ni Made Ria Satyawati & I Wayan Suartana (2014). The purpose of this research is to explain the effect of transformational leadership style and organizational culture on employee performance.The data in this study were collected through a questionnaire distributed to 70 employees in PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) DAOP IV Semarang. Mechanical testing of the data used in this study include testing instrument, the classical assumption test, multiple linear regression analysis, test T-test, test F and test the coefficient of determination (R2) with the application of SPSS 17.0.The results showed that transformational leadership style and organizational culture has a positive and significant impact on employee performance. This shows the variables of transformational leadership style and organizational culture capable of improving the performance of employees at PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) DAOP IV Semarang.

Abstract

The frequently change of banking situation causing the fluctuation of commercial bank’s time deposit interest rate in Indonesia. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effects of Inflation, Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Return On Asset (ROA,) and Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR) toward Time Deposit Interest Rate of Commercial Bank in Indonesia. The interest rate was showed how much return will be the number of fund has believed by investor or customer for the concerned bank. So,important for the banks to will be analyzed the factors to determined interest rate targeted match with condition of banking and state of economy.Population of this study is all of commercial bank in indonesia. There are 119 bank that were included. The sample determining method to be used is census method, where the number of sample is equal to the number of population. The data in this study is secondary data that is inflation rate and commercial bank financial performance on 2010 – 2014 obtained from Indonesian Monetary Economic Statistics (SEKI) and Indonesian Banking Statistics (SPI) that had been published by Bank Indonesia. Analysis technique used is analyzed multiple linear regression and the hypothesis testing with use F test and t test. Others also done a classic assumption test covering normality test, multicolinierity test, heteroscedastisity test and autocorrelation test. Conclusion from this research describe that statistical result of Inflation variable show positive and doesn’t have significant influence towards Time Deposit interest determination, CAR variable show positive and doesn’t have significant influence towards Time Deposit interest determination, ROA variable show negative and doesn’t have significant influance towards on Time Deposit interest determination, and, LDR variable show positive and significant influence towards Time Deposit interest determination. Adjusted R2 value on this research is 0,350, this mean that 35% of interest variable could be explained by independent variables Inflation, CAR, ROA, and LDR and 65% remnant of these explained by variables outside not listed in the formula.

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of the effectiveness of advertising and word of mouth on brand awareness, then examine and analyze the effect of brand awareness and customer value on purchase intention of the Marina hand and body lotion product.   The sample in this study were 200 respondents that came from the people in the city of Semarang which recognize Marina hand and body lotion products. The method used is purposive sampling. Analyzer used in this study is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) which is operated through a program AMOS 20.0The result showed that the effectiveness of advertising and word of mouth has positive and significant effect on brand awareness. Then, brand awareness and customer value has positive and significant effect on purchase intention.

Abstract

Indonesia Stock Exchange is a transaction trading place of general company in Indonesia. Shares have a market value for the sale and purchase transaction that called the stock price. The stock price is representative of the value of companies that can go up and down. The purpose of this study was to test the stock price which influenced the Economic Value Added (EVA), Return on Assets (ROA), Debt To Equity Ratio (DER), Trading Volume and Market Capitalization in public companies listed on the Stock Exchange during 2011-2013            The population in this study were all general companies listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange and was continuously published financial statements in 2011-2013. Based on a purposive sampling method, samples were obtained by 41 companies in the period 2011-2013, in order to obtain 123 observations. The analysis technique used is multiple linear regression analysis.            The results showed that EVA, ROA, DER, trading volume, and market capitalization simultaneously affect the stock price. Partially trading volume and market capitalization have a significant effect on stock prices. EVA, ROA, and DER has no significant effect on stock prices. And partially EVA, ROA and market capitalization has a positive effect on stock prices. DER, and trading volume has a negative effect on stock prices.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of intellectual capital toward the firm value using the financial performance as intervening variable in manufacturing firms registered in Indonesia Stock Exchange in period 2009-2013. This research examine the relation of three major components of firm’s resources which is capital emloyeed (VACA), human capital (VAHU), and structural capital (STVA) toward the firm value of the company’s financial performance. The firm value is measured using price to book value (PBV) otherwise the company’s financial performance is measured using return on asset (ROA).The samples used ini this study are 25 manufacturing firms in Indonesia Stock Exhange in period 2009-2013. Path analysis used to be analysis technique using program SPSS 20 for windows to determine the effect of mediation.The result of this study show that VACA and VAHU have positively and significant influence on ROA. VACA and ROA have positively and significant influenced and PBV. Financial performance may mediate the relation between VACA and STVA toward firm value.

Abstract

Banks play an important role in economic activity of a country. Bank is a financial institution trusted by the community to manage the funds. Banks are required to always be able to maintain the level of liquidity and profitability.This study aims to analyze the effect of size, profitability, capital adequacy, and Non-Performing Loan on bank liquidity. The sample used in this study are commercial banks listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange during the years 2011 through 2014. The sampling technique used in this research is purposive sampling method covering 27 banks as samples. The analysis method used in this study is Normality Test, Autocorrelation Test, Multicolliniarity Test, Heteroscedasticity Test, Coefficient of Determination Test, F Statistic Test, t Statistic Test, and Multiple Linear Regression Analysis.Based on the results of the partial testing carried out, size and profitability have positive effect on liquidity. Meanwhile, capital adequacy and Non-Performing Loan have negative effect on liquidity. Based on the test results of Coefficient of Determination  Test, the variable size, profitability, capital adequacy and Non-Performing Loan has an effect on the liquidity of 22,50%.

Abstract

Human resources is the main asset in every passage of the activity in the company. So that optimal attention should be given tothe employee. The background of this research is a decrease in the performance of employees at PT Luxindo Nusantara Semarang. Many factors that affect the performance of employees, including the leader who never involve subordinates in decision making, lack of reward and punishment system in the company that could affect employee motivation, and complaints from employees about the working environment that is not conducive so employees feel tired easily when working. Objective of this study was to prove the influence of leadership, motivation, and phsysical work environment on employee performance PT.Luxindo Nusantara Semarang This study uses independent variables including leadership, motivation, and physical work environtment, as well as the dependent variable is the performance of employees. The population in this study were employees of PT.Luxindo Nusantara Semarang and samples taken were 72 respondents.Based on multiple linear regression analysis, the results showed that leadership, motivation, and physical work environment gives a significant positive effect on employee performance.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the influence of Distress Risk, Firm Size, Book to Market Ratio (BMR), Return On Assets (ROA), and Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) to stock return. This research used the Corporate data which have gone public and listed it to Indonesian Stock Exchange and classified with index Lq45. The data that it used at this research came from the annual published financial report of Indonesian Capital Market Directory period 2009-2013 with 25 corporate sampleThe method that used in this research was multiple regression analysis and then used assumption classic test and used hypothesis test that including F-statistic, T-statistic and determination of coefficients (R2).            The results of this research shows that distress risk have positive influence but not significant to stock return , size has a negative influence and has significant influence to stock return, BMR have a negative influence and have significant influence to stock return, ROA and DER does not have significant influence to stock return
