Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the influence of marketing communication quality to brand awareness with media choosing, intensity of telecast media, and message appeal in media as independent variable. Pikatan Waterpark as the best tourism object in Temanggung need to improve their marketing communication to build brand awareness to introduce Pikatan Waterpark in Central Java. Population used in this study with criteria known Pikatan Waterpark and take sample non-probability purposive sampling around 100 respondent. Respondents fill in the questionnaires and processed with multiple regression analysis using SPSS software. The result are media choosing, intensity of telecast media, and message appeal in media have positive effect on marketing communication quality. And marketing communication quality have positive effect to brand awareness. From three independent, message appeal in media have biggest effect to marketing communication quality.

Abstract

This study aimed to identify the antecedents and consequences of employee engagement. Employee engagement has a strong effect on the organizational performance. Good level of employee performance and the low level of absenteeism which indicates that there is a good level of employee engagement at Patra Jasa Convention Hotel Semarang. This study held in the employees of Patra Jasa Convention Hotel Semarang. Data collected through distribution of questionnaires to 107 permanent employees with census method. The techniques of data testing in this research includes validity test by factor analysis, reliability test, the classical assumption test, multiple linear regression, path analysis, and the Sobel test to examine the mediation effect with SPSS 16.0. The results of this study indicates that job characteristics, procedural justice, and rewards and recognition have positive and significant effect to employee engagement. While, distributive justice has a positive but not significant effect to employee engagement. Employee engagement  has positive and significant effect to employee performance, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment. Employee engagement is partially connects antecedents with consequences.

Abstract

This study aims to determine factors that influencing the magnitude of share repurchases. The Independent variables used in this study are dividend payout ratio, market to book ratio, free cash flow, firm size and debt to equity ratio. The population of this study includes all firms registered in Indonesia Stock Exchange that conduct share repurchase program in 2008-2014. Sample choosen using purposive sampling technique with the criteria are share repurchases held by non-financial firms that paying cash dividend in the prior year of repurchase. Approximately 53 repurchases are obtained from 39 sample firms. Multiple Regression Analysis is used to examine the influence of each variable toward share repurchase. The result show that free cash flow have positive and significant effect toward share repurchase. Firm size have positive and significant effect toward share repurchase. Dividend payout ratio have positive but insignificant effect. Market to book ratio have positive but insignificant effect. Debt to equity ratio have negative but insignificant effect toward share repurchase.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to extend previous research on employee commitment to their organization within with the measurability and the fitness of the tested and reliable employee commitment scale items in a non-western culture within focus to investigate the effect of demographic characteristic (age, gender, education), tenure and pay satisfaction on affective commitment based background of the phenomena that occur in the commitment of contract  paramedical employees at the General Hospital of Semarang.This research was conducted at the General Hospital of the city  with A quantitative approachment.The data collection using five-point Likert scaled questionnaire administered to 75 contract  paramedical employees at the General Hospital of Semarang.The results indicates that there are no significant effect between both demographic characteristic (age, gender, education) and tenure on affective commitment.Conversely, the result indicate there is a positive significant correlation between pay satisfaction towards affective commitment at the General Hospital of Semarang.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to know the influence of profitability, liquidity, and leverage toward stock return using firm value as intervening variable in manufactured firms registered in Indonesia Stock Exchange in period 2010-2014.Variable used in this study are profitability (ROE), liquidity (CR), and leverage (DER) as an independent variable, Stock Return as a dependent variable, and firm value (PBV) as an intervening variable. The research populations are companies that include in the manufactured firms listed in Indonesia Stock Exchange period 2010-2014 . There are 89 sample manufactured firms by using purposive sampling method. Path analysis used to be analysis technique using program SPSS 16 for windows to determine the effect of mediation. The result of this study show that ROE has positive significant influence on PBV, CR has positive influence on PBV but not significant. ROE and PBV has positive significant influence on Stock Return, CR and DER has negative influence on Stock Return but not significant . The result of sobel test show that firm value (PBV) may mediate the relation between ROE toward Stock Return.

Abstract

This research is motivated by a decrease in the level of customer satisfaction with Simpati cards that indicate a decline in consumer loyalty to the Simpati Card. With the existing problems, this study aimed to examine the effect of pricing, product quality and brand awareness on consumer loyalty premises customer satisfaction sebgai intervening variables.This research was conducted by using multiple regression analysis. Samples in this study of 100 respondents Simpati Card users in the city of Semarang. In this penenlitian there are models with price, product quality and brand awareness as independent variables, as intervening customer satisfaction, and customer loyalty as the dependent variable. By using the software SPSS for windows.The results of research showing that price, the consumer quality, and brand awareness positive and significant impact on consumer satisfaction with the results = 0,198  + 0,451  + 0,336 s well as consumer satisfaction is positively and significantly with the results = 0,844

Abstract

Import export activities requires companies to use foreign currency to make a sale and purchase of products, this causes the company likely to suffer risk of loss foreign currency exchange rates, to reduce the risk of losses incurred, the company needs hedging by using derivative instruments. This study’s purpose is to analyze the influence of Debt to Equity Ratio, Interest Coverage Ratio, Growth Opportunity, Firm Size, Current Ratio, Foreign Liability, Managerial Ownership, and Institutional Ownership on Hedging decision.The population in this research is manufacturing companies listed on Indonesia Stock Exchange 2011-2014 period. The number of sample are 82 companies by using purposive sampling method with the provision of the company that publishes full financial statements.this research used logistic regressions analysis technique, to determine the variables affect the probability of the use of derivative instruments as hedging activity decision. The variabels used in this study are the Debt to Equity Ratio, Interest Coverage Ratio, Growth Opportunity, Firm Size, Current Ratio, Foreign Liability, Managerial Ownership, and Institutional Ownership.The results logistic regression analysis showed that of the eight variables used in this study, the variable Debt to Equity Ratio, Interest Coverage Ratio, Growth Opportunity, Firm Size, Current Ratio and Institutional Ownership significantly influence the decision Hedging, while the variable Foreign Liability and Managerial Ownership not significant effect on Hedging decision. The ability of the variable Debt to Equity Ratio, Interest Coverage Ratio, Growth Opportunity, Firm Size, Current Ratio, Foreign Liability, Managerial Ownership, and Institutional Ownership in explaining the probability of the use of hedging derivatives at 32% and the rest is explained by other variables outside the model.

Abstract

The intense competition in business and economy that happened now is one of the causes for the company’s mangement to improve their best performance to attract the investors to invest in their company. Basically, stock price is a reference for the investors to make investment decisions. Stock prices always fluctuate depend to the level of market’s supplies and demands. The stock price is influenced by several factors, internal and external factors. Internal factors can be seen from the company’s financial statements through the financial ratios such as ROE, DER, TATO, CAPEX and NCCR. This study aims to determine the effect of ROE, DER, TATO, CAPEX and NCCR toward the stock price.Population and samples in this study are all manufacturing companies, consumer goods industry sector listed on the Stock Exchange of the year 2010-2014. Purposive sampling methods of sampling and obtained a sample of 24 companies. Type of data is secondary. Multiple linear regression is used to determine the effect of ROE, DER, TATO, CAPEX and NCCR toward the stock price.The results showed that ROE have significant and positive effect toward the stock price meanwhile DER have significant and negative effect toward the stock price. Simultaneously test results indicate there is influence between ROE, DER, TATO, CAPEX and NCCR together toward the stock price of all manufacturing companies, consumer goods industry sector listed on the Stock Exchange. The magnitude of the effect was 42,7%, while the remaining 57,3% influenced by other factors outside this research.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Non Performing Financing (NPF), Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR), Net Operating Margin (NOM) and the size of the company (size) of the business risk (SDROA) Islamic commercial bank in Indonesia period 2010-2014.The sampling technique used in this research is purposive sampling with criteria that Islamic banks publish annual financial reports and monthly basis during 2010-2014. The data used in this study was obtained from the annual financial statements and monthly on the official website of Bank Indonesia, the official website of Otoritas Jasa Keuangan and the official website of each Islamic commercial bank that the research sample. Samples are 11 sharia banks in Indonesia. Methods of data analysis in this study with multiple regression analysis, then use the test classic assumptions and hypothesis testing using the F statistic, statistical test t and test the coefficient of determination Adjusted R2 with a significance level of 5%.The results showed that the independent variables simultaneously (F test) affect the SDROA with a significance level of 0.006. While partially (t test) showed that the CAR and FDR variable positive and significant impact on SDROA. Variable NPF and NOM positive and not significant to SDROA. Meanwhile, the variable size and no significant negative effect on SDROA. Adjusted R2 value of 0.21, which means that the ability of the five independent variables can explain SDROA by 21%, while the remaining 79% is explained by other factors not included in the research model.

Abstract

The technological advances of the modern era led to the increasing penetration of internet users in the world, including Indonesia. This raises increased competition in the business world. This trend caused the emergence of the internet online stores. It is becoming the alternative choice in shopping for consumers. Consumers are not only able to shop in an offline store that requires out of the house, but now with the internet connection consumers can shop from home. It encourages the offline store to follow developments and make its own online store. But in fact the Indonesian people are still hesitant to purchase online. This phenomenon is evidenced by the data that showing of the 20 people there is only one person who bought at the online store, it is lower than offline stores where 5 people are at least 1 people are buying. For the online stores need to know how to increasing consumer purchasing decisions.The purpose of this study was to see how much influence service quality and brand image on perceived value and purchasing decision, and the influence of perceived value and trust towards purchasing decision This study is conducted to consumers who make purchases online at lazada.co.id, where respondents are Semarang people. The samples in this study were 200 respondents. The method of collecting data through questionnaires. The method of data collected through questionnaires. The sampling method in this study is a non-probability sampling with purposive sampling technique. This study uses analytical techniques of Structural Equation Model (SEM), which is estimated by AMOS 21.0.The Result show that the service quality and brand image has a positive and significant effect on perceived value. Service quality, brand image, trust and perceived value has a positive and significant effect on purchasing decision.
