Abstract

AbstractA window in building could have double function. The One, it canpermit outdoor air to flow across rooms. The other,it can permit daylightor sun ray come into the room. The sum of illumination is determined bysome factors: form, size, position, and proportion between window androom. Overdose of daylight will make air hotter andgJare. While lowdaylight intention can make working not to pleasant. Thus, knowing whatis the good window shape is important. This research used quasi-experiment method. The location oneis in one room of among civil and planning department lecturer rooms. The object of research is the window of room, on the north side. Thewindow has been researched are the window with bouvenHcht and thewindow without bouvenlicht. The Window without bouvenlicht isconstructed of fixed glass. While, the window \Nith bouvenlichtis thesame as one and it is separated by walL The dependent variable arewide of window, intensity of sky illumination, the position of window andpoints of measurements. The windows width of two models are 27.225cm2 and 27.195 cm2. The sky illumination is 10.000 lux. The position ofwindow and the shape of room is fixed. The measurement wasconducted at 11.00 pm to 01.00 am, and it was used Luxmeter NT1332,the production of Sanwa Electric Inst:-ument co. ltd.The result of this research explain two thing. The first, there issignificant different in point 1 in al! line. The illumination of windowwithout bouvenlicht is higher than window with bouvenlicht. While inpoint 2 until 6, the illumination of windo'lv without bouvenlicht is lowerthan window with bouvenlicht. The second, comparing to illuminationstandard for activities, there is no significant different in all line, becausethe difference illumination is no more than 100 hundred lux, except atpoint 1 line C.Keywords: daylight, window shape. illumination

Abstract

AbstractThis paper discusses about the advantage of organic disposal ashas an additive on paving stone mixture. The organic disposals such asleaves, wood stick, etc. were taken from garbage tank at the market, living area, and temporary tank. Then they were burnt in to an artificialfurnace at temperature of 28-500°C for about 195 minutes. The mixdesign were 1 portland cement: 3 sand: 3 stone ash: organic ash of0%, 10%, 11%, 12%, 13%, 14% and 15% of cement weight: 0,6 water. The result showed that organic disposal ash ratio was 0.05, and thegradation was observed in zone III. The weight of paving stonecontaining organic disposal ash was smaller than normally paving stone. The more organic disposal ash the lighter weight of paving stone. Thecompressive strength of paving stone containing 12% of plant ash wasthe strongest, it was 119% of the control.Key word: compressive strength, paving stone, organic disposal ash

Abstract

AbstractPeople need interaction control mechanism in their activities, wherever and whenever they do. This mechanism which is named asprivacy, is different among individual or community, depend on theirbackground. This study aims to analyze role of mother with Islamicbackground, in privacy setting arrangement in their houses. Due to oftime limitation, this study is focused on territorial arrangement, as a wayto reach an optimal privacy. This research uses naturalistic qualitative method that Jakesresult from induction of discovered themes. The sampLe of this researchare private houses of member of Persaudaraan Muslimah organizationin Yogyakart2.Themes as results of this study are: occupants and theiractivities, area of house, variety of rooms, roOm activities, accessibilitysequence to the room, main and side entrance, and role of house settingarrangement. Further, the conclusion is: 1) Mother role in territorialarrangement to· reach optimal privacy in her house is very significant. The role in initiating and implementing territorial arrangement especiallyrefer to defense mother privacy (aural) 2) Those territorial arrangementare formed as : arrangement of accessibility sequence of rooms, character and form of border among the rooms. Those territoriality canbe deviced into 4 classifications, as public space, semi public space, semi private space and private space. In special condition thoseterritorial space can be changed depend on activity and user need. Keywords: privacy, territorial arrangement. mother role

Abstract

AbstractPumping method that widely used in the stage of concreting forhigh rise building construction, will lead the fresh concrete into the risksof bleeding and segregation that can caused inadequate concrete qualitydue to the presence of more pores volume in hardened concrete.Interfacial transition zone between plain concrete and reinforcing bar is amain factor that dominantly determine the mechanical strength ofreinforced concrete members as a composite material. Fresh concretecharacteristics, casting method, and free fall height will mainly affect thebond strength of a reinforced concrete structural member. This researchaimed to investigate the effects of free fall height in the concrete castingon the bond strength of concrete reinforcement.Concrete material that used in this research mixed using OrdinaryPortland Cement with 0.45 of water-cement ratio, 1% of polycarboxylatebased high range water reducer by weight of Portland cement, and a 16mm of deformed steel reinforcing bar with 403.06 I\~Pa of yield strength. The experiment was done on the free fall heights of 0 em, 30 em, 75 em,100 em, 200 cm, and 300 em. Investigation of concrete compressivestrength was done using 18 15x15x15 cm3 standard cubes, and bondstrength using 18 standard samples of reinforcing bar casted in15x15x15 cm3 concrete cubes. The experimental test indicates that free fall height significantlyaffects bond strength of steel reinforcement in a reinforced concretestructural member. The optimum bond strength was achieved on 30 cmof free faU height, and the failure of the samples meet with rull-outmechanism. This result can be explained due to the presence ofgravitational force that lead the fresh concrete into an initial compactingprocess by its own weight, when bleeding and segregation do not existit: the casted fresh concrete. Keywords: strength of steel reinforcement, floowing concrete, superplasticizer
