Abstract

Mujair fish (Oreochromis mossambicus) belongs to fish that are resistant to environmental conditionsand are easy to find. which if exposed to heavy metals and consumed in the long term will cause neurotoxic, carcinogenic, mutagenic, or teratogenic effects even to death. Cd2+ and Pb2+ are harmful heavy metals that are toxic and can pollute aquatic organisms. This study aims to determine the levels of Cd2+ and Pb2+ in mujair fish in ponds in Pekalongan City. Samples came from Jeruksari, Panjang, and Slamaran ponds. Analysis of heavy metal content using the AAS (Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry) method. The results showed that mujair fish in Jeruksari, Panjang, and Slamaran ponds had Cd2+ levels 0,07; 17,38 and 0,02 mg/Kg, as well as Pb2+ levels of 10,26; 6,08 and 8,62 mg/Kg. Cd2+ levels in Panjang ponds exceeded the threshold set by BPOM which was 0,1 mg/Kg, while Pb2+ levels in the three ponds exceeded the threshold set by BPOM, namely 0,2 mg/Kg.

Abstract

Essential oils, a part of being used as repellents, are also used as perfume ingredients. Plants that produce essential oils that grow a lot in Sukabumi include cardamom (Amomum cardamomum). In this study, a perfume formulation based on the typical Sukabumi essential oil which has a dual function, as a deodorizer and as a repellent against Aedes aegypti was made. The aim of this study was to determine the hedonic level of perfume, analyze the components, evaluate the quality, test the safety, and analyze the most effective perfume formula as a repellent against A. aegypti. The perfume formulations made are Eau de Parfum F1, F2, and F3 with 3 different variations of perfume component parts from cardamom (A. cardamomum), lemon (Citrus limon), citronella (Cymbopogon winterianus), patchouli (Pogostemon cablin) essential oils, and vanilla extract (Vanilla planifolia). The hedonic test for colour, aroma, and freshness showed F2 as the most preferred perfume by thepanelists.

Abstract

Diatoms are microalgae with cell walls made of silica with nano-sized pores known as frustules. Silica can be applied in various fields, including silica as a catalyst matrix for the purification and separation of substances, heavy metal adsorption, biosensors, drug delivery, and photocatalysts. This study aims to isolate and characterize silica by washing with an acid solution from the diatoms in the deep waters of Ambon Bay, namely Navicula sp. Navicula sp. TAD cell cultivation was carried out to obtain biomass cultivated in a modified medium for seven days. Harvesting obtained Navicula sp. TAD wet biomass of 90.799 g with wet biomass productivity of 1.090 g ml-1 day-1. Isolation of silica from Navicula sp. TAD biomass was carried out by washing nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, and sulfuric acid to obtain silica of 7.650 ± 0.071, 4.550 ± 0.35, and 6.800 ± 0.707 g, respectively. Characteristics of silica characterized by SEM/EDX showed that the nanoporous structure of the frustule biosilica surface could be seen clearly and was composed of silicon and oxygen, indicating that the biosilica had been purified from organic impurities.

Abstract

Pineapple hump is part of the pineapple fruit that can nourish the skin of the body, moisturize the skin, andprovide protection from the sun. This research aims to find out whether pineapple hump can be made in lotion preparations and determine the level of moisture to the skin according to the quality requirements of lotion preparations with the help of skin analyzer tools using 3 formulations that are 3%, 6%, and 9%. The lotion is made by mixing the oil phase into the water phase. The preparation includes phytochemical test, organoleptic test, homogeneity test, irritation test, pH test, spreadability test, moisture test. Based on the results of testing on phytochemistry, pineapple hump contains flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins, and tannins, the organoleptic test shows a thick texture, yellowish color and has a distinctive aroma of pineapple, homogeneity test of all formulations is homogeneous in the absence of coarse grains, irritation test shows no side effects on volunteers, pH test results have a value in the range of 5.32 - 7.50, spreadability test results have a value of 4.5 - 6.3 cm, adhesion test results have a value of 13.40 - 18.16 seconds, viscosity test results with a value of 31500 – 49000.

Abstract

The study examined the air quality in DKI Jakarta, mainly on the nitrogen dioxide (NO2) parameters, using the Extra Trees Regression model to predict the NO2 index. The study used the 2022 NO2 time series data, which showed no significant long-term trends and indicated stationary and random data. Periodogram, histogram, and Q-Q plot analysis showed normal distribution with minor deviations. No significant autocorrelation was found between actual NO2 data and model data, indicating the possibility of white noise. Evaluation of models with parameters such as MASE, MAE, RMSE, MAPE, SMAPE, and R2 showed good model performance. An R2 value of 73.14% indicates a model's ability to explain actual data variability. Although the Extra Trees Regression model follows seasonal patterns, there is an inconsistency between actual values and predictions at some points. This indicates a potential overfitting or difficulty in capturing specific data patterns. This research provides modeling information that is suitable for predicting air quality in DKI Jakarta.
