Abstract

Abstract; Arrival event of three Moslem scholars from Malay Empire in early seventeenth century to Makassar can be attested how close relationship between among Moslem scholarand umara in the Indonesian Archipelago at the time. In the context of Islamization of Makassar in the seventeenth century, relation of umara of Makassar Empire with umara from other Moslem empires such as Demak, Banten, monarchic of Malay Moslem in Aceh, Malacca, and Johor can be classified as very strong.

Abstract

Language syllabus can be defined as a general outline of the language teaching program which guides a teacher what to teach and how to teach in a language program. It,of course, should consist of the approach to apply, materials to teach, the techniques to implement, learning resources to use, and the methods of evaluation to apply. Therefore, it should be developed as completely as possible to provide the teacher with good teaching guidance. Developing a language syllabus involves three main stages: preparation, data collection and analysis, and finishing. Preparation refers to the understanding of philosophical and social factors. Data collection and analysis refers to the activities of designing an instrument and analyzing the collected data using the principles and theories adopted. Finishing refers to the establishment of the syllabus as stipulated by the intended language program.

Abstract

Though recently experiencing the difficult political conditions, Iraqi's government consistently puts emphasis on improving its national education. This attitude is reflected, for example, from its grants in the funding scholarship programs for the people both in Iraq and abroad. Moreover, the government also grants scholarships for non-Iraqi citizens, including Indonesians, in the country's universities.

Abstract

Imam al-Suyuthi sebagai linguis banyak menghasilkan karya-karya bermutu di bidang kebahasaan Arab. Penulisan karya-karyanya itu secara umum mengesankan keterkaitan antara bahasa Arab dengan ilmu-ilmu Islam, mengingat adanya saling pengaruh antara ilmu-ilmu Islam tersebut Antara Ulum al-Qur'an/ Tafsir, Hadis, Ushul Fiqh, Ilmu Kalam, ilmu-ilmu bahasa Arab, dan ilmu-ilmu lain, satu dengan yang lain terjalin dan terikat oleh kesamaan sumber, yakni al-Qur'an, yang dari padanya ilmu-ilmu tersebut digali dan dikembangkan. dari sini mudah dipahami bahwa metode kajian kebahasaan al-Suyuthi ternyata memiliki karakteristik tertentu yaitu; keterpengaruhan al-Suyuthi oleh al-Qur'an metode ulama-ulama Hadis, metode ahli-ahli ushul Fiqh, dan metode para Fuqaha.

Abstract

Danarto, dalam menjelaskan alur pikiran karyanya yang berjudul Nostalgia menggunakan karakter dan simbol HIndu yang menunjukkan adanya keterkaitan hubungan antara dua dunia, lahir-batin, transenden-immanen, duniawi-ukhrawi, rasiointuisi, dan lain-lain. Hal itu seakan ia berusaha mengislamkan epos HIndu terkenal Mahabrata dengan elemen spiritual Islam dan monoteisme.

Abstract

This article aims at conveying meaning and lexical-meaning in the cross-cultural translation of a given-cultural discourse from one language to another, for this case, English into Bahasa Indonesia or vice-versa. The meaning of a given word or set of words is best understood as the contribution that word or phrase can make tothe meaning or the whole sentence or linguistic and cultural utterance where that word or phrase occurs.

Abstract

Al-Qur'an has wonderful language and literary style.It contains God's verses and mighty miracles for the prophet Muhammad pbuh. In terms of language and literature, Al- Qur'an is bound with both patterns. Itnab, one of Al-Qur'ans language style, reflects distinguished purpose and function, i.e. to draw the attention of the readers and audience and to affirm its content.
